As someone with whom continuous lights really revolutionized the wayI shoot, for that same reason as you that that all allows me to experiment in real time, this was really wonderful to watch! The protection value in your videos is also really great!
I’m thinking of getting into constant and strobe lighting with my current skill set being only strobe. And a lot of my work is about killing all ambient light and overpowering with strobe, but that wouldn’t work with constant lights since I don’t want to kill it as much. So is there a certain formula you can’t of follow to dial in the settings? For example do you set up your constants to how you want them to look, then adjust your shutter speed so you have enough ambient left to maintain a certain brightness of the constants, then finally bring in your strobe and adjust its power accordingly to be the key but not overpower the constant? Sorry if that’s hard to understand my question, my brain is having a hard time figuring out how to approach it lol
Hey! I think I understand what you mean - my answer would be to try and balance your shutter speed and the power of your strobe. Start by reducing your shutter speed to a speed that you can still shoot hand held (which should still be much lower because of the use of strobes), and then after that you can adjust the strength of the strobes to fine tune. Let me know if that helps at all/answers your question?
I also love how you’ve used the beauty dishes as a prop, I really creative idea. Thank you!
