How to access your UEFI (BIOS) on newer computers running Windows 8. Changing your boot order to start from a bootable USB drive or CD/DVD. Наука
Thank you so much! I watched about 20 videos that explained how to change the boot order which I wasn't able to change. Your video is the one that finally helped me!
Bro.... 2hrs later attempting to do a system reset and i found this vid for the sub menu... THUMBS WAY UP BROTHER!!! THANX!!!
Dana, just say (again) your video's been a *life-saver* many times over for people like me who like to try different Linux distros. Wicked Microsoft, thought it could just stop us looking at open-source OSs by switching from BIOS to UEFI.
Good on you Dana mate -- CHEERS!
While the UEFI demonstrated in this video did not match my Unbranded Windows Tablet ub-15ms10's UEFI it did give me enough hints on how to proceed in order to get the tablet to boot from the USB. - Thank you.
God bless you! I had given up on installing ubuntu and this got me all excited and going again. Works like a charm!
OMG You helped me so much!!! Thank you! Now my USB drive shows up in the boot options, which isn't in the BIOS. Thanks!
KT, I'm glad you were able to find it useful, I appreciate your comment. Thanks, Dana
Thank you so much Dana. Tried for a while to figure this out and you helped me a bunch. Props my friend :)
Thanks Dana. This video helped me boot from CD with the Windows 8.1 operating system.
Hi, Thanks for watching. I do miss the older systems where you can easily set the boot options on most systems. The new systems coming out now are definitely harder to do. It's especially difficult to help others with setting the boot order when I'm not seeing anything, that's one of the reasons I created the video. Glad it was helpful for you.
Man you save my life, Thank You from Brazil!
Thanks Dana, you are a lifesaver. I found on an Asus K55V to access the BIOS was Esc + Ctrl + alt.
A hard to find procedure so many thanks!

My acer laptop with windows 8.1 is a victim of the "black screen of death" I bought a 32gb flashdrive and made a recovery drive using my working hewlitt Packard pc which also has windows 8.1 I plugged it into my broken acer laptop and restarted while holding the F2 button and was able to get into the bios. From there I'm screwed. Is it possible to fix the problem using the bios, and if so,how? If you answer could you please explain in simple terms. I'm not very good with these things . Thank you.
This was OFFICIALY Recorded with a potato
It was an onion...
uhauhahuaahu, yes!!!
great video. now i can install windows 7 on my baytrail tablet.
Thanks for the help ;)
I did everything but csm. Didn't even see it lol. Thanks a shit-ton. Would have been screwed without this!
YOU SAVE MY LIFE BODY!!!
Your camera to make the video uses contrast to focus. Coming camera modules for mobiles will use phase detection to focus. Brightness of the screen might be causing the camera to go in and out of focus. Less brightness could help. Or more ambient light from a light source.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH I LOVE YOU
this is for anyone searching for the Launch CSM disabled (greyed out) issue (can't enable it) it's because Secure Boot is enabled in the BIOS. Disable it, then reboot and go back into BIOS and you should be able to enable Launch CSM.
Thanks worked. 👍👍👍
Good video! and I'm sure quite a few who'd like to install another OS by booting from the optical drive would be grateful for your demo.
One thing I wasn't sure: Say one has temporarily changed the boot order, as you show, how then do you get your computer to boot from the optical drive? What key does one have to press to boot from the DVD? I've got an Asus, like you, Windows 8. Thanks!
