I had this controller as a kid. I got it at a discount store and have very found memories of it. Very high quality for a 3rd party controller. Hoping I can find one again one day. Enjoying your channel!
That’s awesome! Very much a high quality 3rd-party controller that was a rarity back then. Hope you’re able to find another in the near future! Thanks for checking out the video and the channel!
When i was 10 i got a Gamecube for christmass and a while after i got or bought the game Super Monkey Ball. Strangely my whole family really enjoyed competing in the game mode monkey target and in the beginning we didn't have enough controllers for everyone so we would take turns and my dad would always tease me about the controller being really sweaty after i had used it. some time later when he came home from work one day he said that he had bought a new controller for me and handed me one of these. i remember the whole family laughing when they saw it but i thought it was a really cool controller (no pun intended) i still have it to this day and its still one of my favorite gifts i have ever gotten.
Wow that is awesome! Super Monkey Ball is a fantastic game, and Monkey Target was my favorite mini-game of the bunch. I think this controller was a brilliant idea and I’m fortunate to have found a sealed one earlier this year! I’m really glad to hear you still have yours, as it’s rare to come across anyone who had one. Thank you again for checking out the video and sharing that awesome story!
I still have mine from when I was a kid and it's definitely seen hundreds of hours of play. It's actually held up incredibly well, the fan still works and all the buttons are responsive. However the A button is a bit mushy these days and the thumb stick rubber is pretty worn down
I bought one of these years and years ago at GameStop when I was a kid. It was $8 used and looked neat, plus it had a fan. I used this controller EVERY time I played my GameCube and still have it to this day. The cord has been bent around from use so much that its wires a showing. The only button not working is the start button. I need to open it up and work on it to get it back to a better condition, but still amazing memories and I loved the controller so much
That’s a steal for $8 back then! Awesome to hear you still use it today! Hope you’re able to fix that Start button 👍. I felt like this was such a unique controller, but wasn’t a cheaply built controller by any means either. Thanks for checking out the video man!
This is going to sound crazy but this is it. After 30+ years of gaming and using god knows how many controllers, this would be my personal pick for favorite controller of all time. Loved it so much when i got it 20 or so years ago that i still have it to this day and use it for almost all of my pc gaming through a hyperkin adapter and its still working great. Once a year or so i take it apart and clean it and oil it. Easy process. It fits perfect in my hands -10/10 and like the video creator mentioned it feels very high quality. Like an official Nintendo product. If not better... I love it so much i have 3 more, in the package, in my closet because i grabbed one everytime i saw it in stores through the years lol. ...And not to even mention...Your hands will NEVER sweat using it. The fans work amazing and keep your hands the perfect temperature. I'd recomend to anyone who can find one for a solid price. 👍
That's awesome to hear how much this controller stands out for you! It really is one of the finest third-party controllers crafted, and an easy recommendation without question. That's wild to hear you have 3 more sealed in your closet! Thanks for checking out the video, and sharing your thoughts on the controller as well!
Dude that is a very awesome looking controller I had never heard of that one! Searched on eBay just now and I could not find ANY listed but a few had sold loose recently. It pained me to see you open it haha but hey at least your going to use it. I will be on the lookout for one of these. Awesome video!
Thanks! Yeah, it took me years to find this sealed (let alone a used one in decent condition lol). And believe me, I was really hesitant to open it since this was a rare find! But, my eagerness to use the controller again and showcase the unboxing was much more valuable to me. Thanks again for checking out the video and sharing it!
I'm always hesitant to buy 3rd Party things for consoles but back in middle school, I picked up (maybe) the AirFlo version of the PS2 controller. I remember it was wireless which was a huge deal but it required like 8 double AA batteries to run the fans. In the end, as a kid, I didn't think it was worth it (I think I used some birthday money to get it) and then a few months later my fat ass sat on it and broke one of the joysticks. FML, right? Anyway, watching this video reminded me of that controller. Happy to see yours seems to be much better!
Oh wow, that's cool that you had the wireless version of the PS2 AirFlo! Apparently there was a wireless version for the GameCube, but I have yet to find someone selling it. Heck, I'm still baffled I found this brand new sealed! That's awful that it needed 8 AA batteries though lol. Thanks for checking out one of the first videos on the channel man!
I have the PS2 version. All these comments about how great it is. Lol. It actually made my hands sweat more because of the rubberized material on the grips. Awesome gimmick, nostalgic and interesting because of it's uniqueness, But the fan is noisy, rubber (and the property of physics. You actually didn't really get air "flow" because you blocked the holes not allowing air to blow over your hands which is how hand dryers and physics work) made hands sweat more and 4 double-A batteries were expensive to keep replacing and heavy.
I only ever used the original corded controllers, and just recently bought myself a brand new wavebird. Its incredible. Never tried this though! My collection is more towards first party items though.
The original corded controller was my go-to back in the day. I never had the Wavebird myself until a few years ago, and agree...it’s incredible. I only had one third-party controller for the GC back in the day and it was awful haha. This one really has a lot of good build qualities to it. And yes, I plan on eventually covering a video of my current collection! Aiming on doing that in the near future 👍
They did make one for the PS2 and Xbox, and those seem to be easier to come across on eBay. The GameCube one is incredibly rare to come across, and there was even a wireless AirFlo controller they released later on...but to this day, I've never seen one (even back when it came out). Glad you enjoyed the video!
A controller like this would be perfect for those who sweat a ton like me. Scott the Woz reviewed a XBOX 360 controller with a similar fan gimmick in his one of his videos.
It's definitely a controller designed for those who do tend to get sweaty palms when playing. While I don't have sweaty palms when playing, I still love the feel of the fan keeping my hands cool, and the overall feel of this controller. I wonder if that video Scott the Woz did happened to be a Nyko controller as well. Thanks for checking out the video!
@@GameCubeGalaxy From what I can gather, the XBOX 360 controller with a fan that Scott the Woz reviewed wasn't a Nyko one. It was actually made by PowerA.
Also, Nyko currently sells a spiritual successor of sorts to this controller for the Nintendo Switch called the Nyko Air Glow that has LED lights for some reason.
Thank you man! I bought this over 2 years ago, and nabbed it for about $75 sealed. I’m not what it would go for today, as I haven’t seen another new listing since I got mine. I’d imagine maybe $150+? Also, AWESOME avatar!
Oh really? I’m not sure if there’s a place that can fix that, but I wonder if you can find another Nyko GC controller that can be taken apart and have the analog stick swapped out.

Nice! Yeah the controller holds up well for sure! Sorry to hear the thumb stick rubber is wearing off now though…
Thanks for checking out the video!

Hello Strangah! Watta ya buyin? Eheheh. Ahhhhh! I'll buy it at a high priiice!
I only ever used the original corded controllers, and just recently bought myself a brand new wavebird. Its incredible. Never tried this though!

You should do a video going over what you already have entirelly.

I can remember when this came out but never picked one up. I think they may have made a similar controller for the other consoles..? Good video

@@Astolfo2001 Oh? I think I need to pick that up and test it out! Thanks for letting me know!
Woah amazing find!! What did you end up paying for it? And what would a sealed example sell for nowadays?
Thank you man! I bought this over 2 years ago, and nabbed it for about $75 sealed. I’m not what it would go for today, as I haven’t seen another new listing since I got mine. I’d imagine maybe $150+? Also, AWESOME avatar!
My left analog stick is worn down. The cap is there, but it's greatly worn down where it's mostly flat. Is there a place I can go to get it fixed?
Oh really? I’m not sure if there’s a place that can fix that, but I wonder if you can find another Nyko GC controller that can be taken apart and have the analog stick swapped out.
You know what's a rare controller I haven't found was the modern warfare 2 controller
I can’t even remember what that looked like, I’ll have to look that up. I find it interesting how certain controllers can be so hard to find nowadays. Something like this controller almost no one is ever selling. Thanks for checking out this video!
I think the wireless ones are rarely than the wired ones.
I completely forgot that there was a wireless one! I need to be on the look out for that now lol. Thanks for checking out the video!
Bob wulff den would like to know your location
Because he wants the controller
how in the hell did he find a BRAND NEW one
