I personally love how Mutt comes with the different hand options that mimic real dog commands. It's that little attention to detail that goes a long way with me.
Also Junkyard is the star of the show for me. For all the flak I give Hasbro, one thing they do well is animal articulation. Timber from the Snake Eyes sets had the same range of motion and was just as well engineered.

I remember the time I bought the original Mutt and Junkyard. I had saved my money, even bought a smaller lunch than usual that day to be able to buy him and a small Joe vehicle. It's really telling what I thought of the figure and his dog in that I remember getting him, but for the life of me I cannot remember which Joe vehicle I bought. Mutt and Junkyard were definitely one of my favorite toys.

I don't collect a lot of Classified figures, but I completely understand the gummy weapons being such a turn-off. Mcfarlane does the same thing with their accessories, and despite how much I love Spawn, I had to stop collecting them because it was so frustrating just watching these huge swords, axes, and guns droop and warp while they're just sitting in the display.

💯 I had the first 3 waves of Spawn figures on display in my room back in the 90s and wound up selling them all in the early 2000s because of that annoying warping effect.

I thoroughly enjoy your reviews of this toy line. It’s incredibly clear how much you like the IP, but (like all your reviews) you don’t let that blind you to the details that could have made the figure better. In my opinion we need more reviewers who are honest about the shortcomings of any particular release, and it’s a shame when some other viewers can’t understand that simply pointing out these details doesn’t make someone a “hater”.
Also, growing up in the USA I never was aware of the “Action Man” toy line, but I have watched all your reviews of it over the years and your encyclopedic knowledge of and appreciation for it have always impressed me, especially the lengths you go through to credit those involved in its production. I probably couldn’t correctly name one “Action Man” toy, and yet the name “Bob Brechin” is seared into my memory from hearing his name and others in your reviews.
Thanks for all the great content.

The figure itself is great, and with all of the weapons that Bobby is giving us now, there’s plenty of fire to choose from. Just got this figured two days ago myself

Gotta say, I've resisted purchasing any Classifieds because I'm not sure I want to get into another line when I'm in so deep with the 3.75 inchers. That said, I absolutely like this 6" Mutt n Junkyard! They both hearken back to the original which I loved as a kid and still do. I too am not thrilled with the gummy, less sharply sculpted accessories like that knife and it's details like these that make me resist. That knife reminds me of several of the bladed weapons and accessories from Spiral Zone and Spawn. Once they started warping, I was done. Either way, thanks for the great review Tony of a super cool Joe and his trusty Rotty!

I haven't picked up any Classified for a while now. This is one I'll likely get.
The weapons are all over the shop with this line. Kind of like their strategy around it. They are sold with an age range for kids but not many kids will really now who these guys are. Then when they talk announcing the figures they talk like they are talking to collectors. Kids can play with accessories made from more rigid plastic.

In a recent live stream (sorry, can’t remember where) the gummy weapons were bought up and Hasbro is aware. They did say it’s something they’re working on, but not a ship they can instantly turn around and they do have to work within toy safety requirements.
Not sure if that’s just excuses or legit. But it does sound plausible at least.
I recently grabbed Low Light and although he’s a great figure, the rubbery backpack peg is a disaster. So yeah, Hasbro - this needs fixing ASAP.

I have a theory about the why they don’t give us the exact same weapons than the vintage figure. If you look at all the figures announced, they did it almost every time I think. That’s because they will give us a retro card version later with the « forgotten » weapon. You look at Quick Kick, he comes with double sword where the vintage one as only one. And Jinx comes with only one sword when the vintage version has two. That’s because they will do a retro card with the correct weapons and that will justified a new purchase for most of the collectors and more money for Hasbro. That’s what I think anyway.

Soft and floppy, that's Hasbro in a nutshell,my only problem with the figure (other than the crap weapons) is the fact that Mutt is stuck with that snarling face,It would have been nice to get a regular head sculpt like "some other" toy companies supply, but atleast he comes with the mask so I might pick it up eventually.

I admit I’m slowly backing out of classified. I have all the characters I love in 1:18th scale. I’ve picked up favorites for action force. I’m very in the fence with mutt and Junkyard to be honest and despite some great merits I see several flaws. In the end though it’s pretty clear to me classified isn’t cutting it for me.

In contrast, Tony's interest in Action Man came as a result of older family members helping him to acquire pieces. Big Jim had it's heyday before Tony started playing with action figures, so he may not prioritize collecting that line.

Yeah the gummy weapons was another real let down. I really like the weapon choices but if I try to pose him with the gun in both hands it turns into a banana. Its unacceptable considering the price I paid for him in Canada.
An yeah how hard would it be to put a belt loop for the tonfa? I swear its like the accessories for some of these figures are not made by the same people or something. Its like nobody is checking for consistency, accuracy and some kind of realism. Yeah the OG 80s line wasn't exactly accurate but you could let some of that go in 3 3/4 given the scale and that it was a lot harder to find that kind of info in the 80s. You didn't see mess ups like these or the older larger joe figures and we shouldn't see it on modern 6 inch either. 20 minute Google and Wikipedia searches could fix so many of the inaccuracies in the classified line. And I think they do do it sometimes. But its when it comes to abortions like that double barreled AR that's a meme gun for American collectors. No real life soldier or cop is ever going to use that junk.
