    My eggplants always take longer than other nightshades to fruit. They seem to love the heat. Your light purple eggplant looks like a rosa di bianca (i think i spelled that right) I purchased that kind from Baker creek although sometimes the same looking fruit has different names from different seed companies.

    Heather I picked a wee basket of tomatoes off my balcony last night. 😊 I Am pleased. Thank you for the inspiration and … moderation. I tend to expect perfection and make things impossible for myself.
    I am wondering whether your new raised beds would be a bit better with some of your clay soil miked in to add minerals and things? I am gardening in plant pots on a balcony, so I have no idea. 🤷‍♀️ ( I cannot find a shrug with brown hair).
    I am wondering how you are going to save and store all the pumpkins! I know you can store them through to spring in a dry place, but it looks to me like more than a year’s supply. Will they last two years?

    The arch is so lush and beautiful and the yellow just adds a beautiful touch. I’d just want to sit in the quiet and take it all in!!😂 My season went south this spring. I am secession planting many things to try again. I never had a season like this with many disease attacks on my plants and the birds eating every tomato that barely blushes and they eat every seed I plant, you name it that’s happening to me this year. It’s so stressful I have to laughing about it so I don’t have a fit about it.😂 Question- Are the Red Okra stalky/fibrous or are they tender? How do you prepare them for your family? I am curious because I grew up growing Longhorn Okra in Louisiana, they’re very tender. We brown them down in oil very low and slow and it removes all the slime and darkens them and we make Shrimp Okra Gumbo and I am wondering how tender the red ones are to add a pop of color to my garden to go with my other ones. Okra grows like a weed here in Louisiana/Mississippi now that I had no problems with this season. Thanks in advance. God Bless

    • @SageandStoneHomestead
      @SageandStoneHomestead  2 месяца назад +2

      After the pods turn color to yellow you can harvest. You’ll want to lay peas out to try for storage or you can cook them right away. Alternatively you can leave the pods on the plant to dry out and harvest them after they have all dried

    • @SageandStoneHomestead
      @SageandStoneHomestead  2 месяца назад +1

      Like too much of it? I've read too much nitrogen can make the aphids really active but then I'm getting a lot of flowers on things too and fruit so I wasn't sure what to think.

    • @TheFeralFarmgirl
      @TheFeralFarmgirl 2 месяца назад +2

      @@SageandStoneHomestead Have you checked the PH? I don't remember if you have already. The issue should resolve itself, and looks like it is on it's way. The mushrooms growing means they are working on your soil. It seems like your soil might have had too much compost that may not have fully broken down yet. I don't know that your tomatoes had blight early on in the season, as much as they might have been getting burned. I had a similar issue a couple of years ago. Some companies have been selling compost that isn't completely finished because of the high demand.
