Honestly I love that you've done a song for basically every era of Star Trek by now- we got TOS, TNG, Voyager, DS9, Discovery, Strange New Worlds, even a few for the movies! All that's really left is for us to eventually get a Lower Decks, Prodigy, and Picard song! (Personally, my money is on a Tendi song, she feels like the new Star Trek mascot at this point)
It’s been a goal of mine to cover all of Trek, for sure. Much trickier for the newer shows with less seasons and episodes and less time to fully know the material, but as long as I’m also able to make reference to them at least.
Hmmm... Well there are a lot of songs about "mean girls" which could be "green girls" (not that Tendi is mean, but I won't want to be on the bad side of the Mistress of the Winter Constellations)
@StarRekt good point, newer shows don't have as much material so it can be harder to come up with a ton of musicality for them. I wish you luck!

The absolute funniest thing to me about this is, that Anson Mount wa sis that one dumb Movie "Crossroads" which is that Britney Spears Movie. It still makes me giggle when I think about it and I am this close to watching the dumpster fire again just to get an itch scratched.

This made me smile. Not only is this a fantastic parody, but I love the specific focus on the catch phrases that all the captains have. That said, I LOVE it when Pike says "Hit it." Because DAMN I wish I could be half that cool. I hope he never stops saying it.

The crew is alarmed; shouldn't they launch using familiar, proven, conventional rockets?

Also I love the idea that this was an unseen song and dance number during Subspace Rhapsody, the random dance numbers just fit Britney Spears so good! and now I'm imagining Ortegas being tortured by crew members singing "Ortegas-Tegas" at her (Might be Uhura humming it at her from across the bridge)

It never registered with me that, in the original pilot, Captain Pike said "Engage", until I watched this. So Picard didn't invent it after all!
Kirk said it a few times too. The only time I can think of off the top of my head is the end of The Naked Time when escaping Psi 2000. Roddenberry clearly wanted that to be the main command for a while.

@@thebronzedragon1 Yeah, it's got an interesting system, (the same one Morphidius used in the Fallout TTRPG, basically you have 2 stats and you want to roll below those stats on 2d20. It's rather seamless between ship-combat and ground combat, and it doesn't use a grid instead the map is separated into "zones" which indoors is usually room-sized (in space it's often based on orbits). It's pretty good. Currently the game I run on Saturdays is my passion project and the one game I GM non-professionally during my week.
@Gruegirl sounds easy and fun by the look of it. It's been awhile since I did table top so it may be something good to get back into the hobby.
If that is I can convince a game to happen

I’ve been watching Star Trek most of my life and I had no idea that every captain ordered warp speed differently
I don't think it was really a massive deal, maybe a lil moment the first time they said it, until Discovery decided to make it this whole big thing new/aspiring captains stress out over. Though anyone's free to correct me of I'm wrong.
Oh it's a big deal, they just didn't show it before. Kirk sweating more over this than Kobayashi Maru.

Seems more like the sort of thing newbies would get told "not to bother", but they'd all be scratching theirs onto the back of their PADD, & by the time they get to command rank they've heard so many lame ones that they're leery of saying anything but "engage".

catch phrases have existed since the dawn of time. They exist solely so fans can remember cool phrases to use when meeting up with friends or communicating with the fandoms as a whole. Starfleet Captains use it for who knows what reason...perhaps to communicate with their helmsman in order to get out of drydock or just to get the mission underway. This parody song not only encompasses the strange new worlds Captain Pike but entails so many other starfleet captains of the series and you did a wonderful job especially with the cosplay so hands down great job on this video. It is odd how Kirk didn't have one but wouldn't it be funny if in season 3 of strange new worlds he throws one in the ring but finds it doesn't feel right? I don't know and honestly Star Trek Legacy should be a go by now oh well, anyway this was well worth the wait and can't wait for future parody vids from this channel.
