I could imagine what the story maybe like when Jack shows back up to the set lol.. I know he won't because he said he won't be coming back. But what kind of story would be there should he return to Hope Valley #Superchannel #Canada
No matter which side you were on, Elizabeth’s character has taken a pretty big hit in the respect department over the last few years. I’m baffled as to why the writers chose this path. To my mind, the one thing that has helped people retain some respect for her are her scenes with Henry. In my opinion they have been some of the best scenes for Elizabeth.
I don't know why she and Nathan weren't just put together from the beginning. It's ridiculous they built this love story with Lucas, then dropped it right before their wedding. What a waste of time.
Elizabeth and Nathan were not put together in the beginning because Elizabeth needed time to grieve. She suffered a great loss when Jack died. It's a journey with many twists and turns. Some people take a month to grieve while others take years. I always knew Lucas was Elizabeth's safe choice but Nathan is and always will be her true love.
Me, too! I stopped watching after Liz choose Lucas. I actually love Lucas’s character. I just never loved him for Elizabeth. I don’t believe it was true to her character to have remotely entertained him as a love interest. Lucas is everything she left behind, whereas Nathan represents the life she’s chosen to love & revere. Lucas should be with Fiona. Their characters would be perfection together. I think they have better chemistry, even in the short moments their characters have been on screen together. Hopefully the writers put them together and fix the mistake of Elizabeth ever choosing Lucas.
@@drkjourney1 Yeah but when they put Nathan and Faith together, that was funny because Kevin McGerry and Kayla Wallace who play them are together in real life so, that's funny they chose to do that.
I think that Erin had to say that, but it was a shock for me. Lucas was not necessarily looking to be a politician but got pushed into it to save the town and people he cared for. I feel that Elizabeth ended up being flakey… it was okay when she was pulled into between nathan and lucas but once she chose lucas how do you hurt him again.
My thoughts are how could Elizabeth fake her love for Lucas for 2+ years & then decide she made a mistake! Not believable. They had a beautiful relationship.
My opinion Lucas is perfect for Elizabeth!!! He's a gentleman, romantic, and love Elizabeth unconditionally!!! Too bad the writers decided to get Elizabeth back to Nathan who's boring, barely acknowledged her son little Jack and the source of her husband dying . Hopefully the writer will reconsider to put them back together, Lucas and Elizabeth are well suited for one another
I think its because we watch When Calls the Heart for the feel good story, and the fictoinal people that we love. But what happened was that it felt all too real watching Lucas and Elizabeth break up. It was so real and heavy to watch. All we want when we watch the show is an escape from the real world.
I don't know what you guys see .. Nathan and Elizabeth are not good together. He's too boring and no personality. Jack is always full of surprises, I believe Lucas will be a perfect fit for Elizabeth
Boring? he is always on adventures to protect the town. He is much deeper than he seems. No need to have a castle in the mountains like Luca's ambition to show dynamics @@orchids1555
@@emydel679please no! The other characters have grown so much in her absence. As well the development between Elizabeth and Rosemary as chosen sisters and raising their children as family would not have happened had Elizabeth still had Abigail to rely on.
@@maddsluiz1296 I wouldn't mind seeing Lori in a guest role because yes forgiveness is the HV way. If Hallmark executives can forgive Lori. She paid for her crime & justice was served. So, I think a guest role where Abigail visits, Elizabeth, Henry, & Bill & others in HV that she was friends with is okay. There are still consequences for actions & Lori lost her full-time job on WCTH though because of her poor decision. Minnie Canfield runs the cafe now so really there isn't a place for Abigail except to visit.
After waiting ten seasons to see the beautiful story of a "Teacher and a Mountie," (based on a Janette Oke book,)I am thrilled to know it will be on our screens soon! ...Patience is indeed a virtue! Kudos to the writers!
@@Suzuzu1 nope it wasn't boring at all. Nathan isn't Jack. He is his own man. S11 was awesome showing strong, deep emotional stories. It showed Nathan's steadfast love for Elizabeth. They showed romantic love with Nathan and Elizabeth. They showed true love. This was always Elizabeth and Nathan's love story S6 forward. Plus Jack & Elizabeth's relationship they were married two weeks then Jack got stationed at FC & Elizabeth stayed behind in HV. So we never saw Jack as a dad. Elizabeth didn't find out she was pregnant until after Jack passed away. So I can't wait for Nathan & Elizabeth to marry have romance in their marriage relationship. Then also see blended family storylines. That is something Elizabeth never had with Jack a family- children Elizabeth that she raised with him. (Jack) Elizabeth and Jack their baby was born after Jack passed. Now we can see Nathan & Elizabeth raise Allie & Jack Jr together & maybe raise a Grant 👶 of their own. It does suck for Lucas that Elizabeth chose him as a safe choice, a safe relationship a safe love to protect herself because she was afraid to be with Nathan in S8.
but we just finished S11, I believe Lucas will get a redemption storyline for his past. That's another reason Lucas wasn't right for Elizabeth, he kept his shady past hidden from Elizabeth all S6-S10 even after he was engaged to her.😮 Then Lucas' past was revealed in S11 with Jeanette coming to HV. Lucas' past put Elizabeth in danger again, but Lucas told Jeanette, "I'm not the same man you used to know. I want to be a good man an honest man." So yes Lucas has changed & will get a redemption storyline. 👏 Governor Bouchard will end up a successful governor in Capital City & I believe will find his great true deep love with a new woman a city woman from Capital City.
I agree with Erin. Look forward to what happens to Elizabeth , Nathan, Allie, and little Jack. Nice to see what they did for Ben Rosenbaum. Very funny as Mike.😊
What malarky. Elizabeth is officially a teenage girl trying to decide on a prom date. It's not like she didn't take years to decide on Lucas, only to desert him at the eleventh hour when he needed her the most.
This is going to be LENGTHY, so kudos to whoever sticks it out. I've been team Nathan since the beginning and have continued to be. Thus, my assessment will contain that bias. That being said, I do want to extend compassion to Team Lucas. Although I know the situation is not entirely the same as when Team Nathan fans were let down after season 8 (seeing that a romance was undeniably developed between L and E), team Nathan can relate to the disappointment and, frankly, the annoyance of this never-ending love triangle and feeling strung on. That being said, I do want to share my thoughts on Season 10 and the current situation of Elizabeth's heart. Season 10 Glows: -The History. Wow. I loved all the callbacks ---whether it was Jed Campbell, Elizabeth's family, Rosaleen, Christmas salami, or Emily reminding Elizabeth of where she belonged with that card, all of them helped me as a viewer feel connected to the show and made it more believable as characters naturally remembered the people and moments that have made them who they are. More than that, the development of the characters and their interaction with each other felt so rich because we have been a part of their journeys and it was believable. Characters like Lee and Rosemary (I mean that labor scene was SO beautiful to watch), Henry Gowen's redemption and restoration, etc. Those stories and acting were testaments to characters and people who have developed and grown together. I loved how season 10 honored their milestone year in that way. -I must admit, I preferred the writing this season over the past 2 seasons. The characters felt more like themselves. The stories were richer. I loved when the show would slow down and let the characters have conversations instead of rushing to the next scene. Those are the moments that develop them! (I'm not saying there wasn't development in 8-9, but I can specifically recall moments this season that opened us up to the characters themselves, but not as much from 8-9.) -Friendship. This season was packed with community and friendships that were wonderfully simple and supportive. -There are absolutely other, more specific glows, but these are the umbrella of what I enjoyed! Now onto the Nathan, Elizabeth, and Lucas situation. How it was handled in the writing: -Thank you for dropping hints throughout the season about how Lucas and Elizabeth’s paths were diverging. Unlike season 8 which was a back and forth mess, there were hints within episode 2 (Aunt Agatha’s observations). Furthermore, when Lucas wants to build Elizabeth a castle (technically Little Jack’s wording-not Lucas’s) there were hints here too. Elizabeth told Lucas Hope Valley was her HOME. The next day, Nathan talks about how nice it is to be home and as he rides off, Elizabeth says, “Welcome HOME.” All of this to say, it wasn’t a split decision in episodes 10-12 to divide these two and you provided us with the subtle transition. That being said, I can see the confusion, however, because there wasn’t much strife between Lucas and Elizabeth. Elizabeth’s heart: No. I am clearly not involved in the writing, nor do I know the heart of a fictional character, but I do have some observations. For those who are disappointed in Elizabeth’s integrity, believing she is wishy-washy, here are 2 thoughts: 1) She has not married Lucas. I hope we can all appreciate that she won’t marry someone she doesn't love fully or worse, marry him and desire another man other than her husband. Now that is where integrity would be called into question. Instead, she maturely broke off the engagement (admittedly, the break up itself was written rather rushed for a relationship of 2-3 years, probably for climatic effect). 2) Perhaps Elizabeth, as many have accused, has acted selfishly by playing it safe (for herself and LJ), and therefore, hurting people. From my perspective, Elizabeth is acting “wishy-washy” because, in Season 8 Episode 2, she rejects Nathan out of fear, but in reality has always cared deeply for him. Why would she have equated Nathan to Jack by admitting, “It would hurt too much if I lost you the way I lost Jack,” if she didn’t really love him? She is acting “wishy-washy” not because she likes this person one second, and another person the next, but because she has almost always loved one (Nathan) but suppressed that love by (yes, out of fear and some selfishness) denying him and turning to Lucas. And yes. L and E DID love one another (and in some form, will continue to), just as Elizabeth admits at Jack’s grave. But as Elizabeth may have gotten wrong at the end of season 8, I didn’t see a lifetime love between them. Perhaps he was the reason, someone who opened her up past the darkness of Jack’s death, but showed her the life she wants is truly in Hope Valley. Helped her dream again, and move forward. Lucas has been a champ, respectful and caring, and it is unfortunate that he is left with the short stick of the bargain. I hope Elizabeth will have conversations with both him and Nathan about how her decision to choose fear was hurtful. It will be key if she will develop over again from the pains Jack’s death caused in her own life. What I like about Nathan and Elizabeth: There has always been this unspoken connection between them. Sort of unexplainably so. Perhaps Lucas represented hope and future, and Nathan would only remind of pain, but Elizabeth will never fully escape the loss of Jack. I believe because of their shared life experiences of suffering that have marked each of them, they will be able to come hand in hand, heal together, move forward together, support one another in the midst of sorrow, and savor the joys of life together. A lifetime love. To me, Elizabeth loved Lucas because of what Lucas did and represented (shared interests, stability, the future), but she simply loves who Nathan IS (she didn’t come to love him because of grand gestures, surprises or passionate displays of his love). She somehow came to love the man who simply sat across from her drinking apple juice. And I’m excited to see how she won’t escape all of her fears, but confront them because the love attached to them is worth it. What I’m looking forward to: The layers. Because E and N did not end up together in season 8 (In retrospect, I’m glad they didn’t. There were still too many wounds), a genuine friendship has developed (something I felt lacking in L and E) I hope that this friendship will only continue to deepen and ever so naturally turn to romantic love both are able to give and accept. Their relationship hasn’t been perfect, but it has been real. Through the midst of all of their challenges, their relationship has been the better for it.One of the SLOWEST slow burn romances out there, but if it works out, the layers built with time and their honest, rich conversations will be so worth it! Well that was long winded. If you made it this far, hopefully you enjoyed my thoughts, considered some different ideas, and will remain loyal to Hope Valley! If not, no hard feelings :) Season 10 was great and I look forward to S11!
Well written. For the most part I totally agree. I look forward to Season 11 and the journey for Elizabeth and Nathan and all the other kind folks of Hope Valley.
I don't see that at all. Elizabeth wasn't a cruel and heartless person in the previous seasons like she is now. Her character is very unlikable now. Women back in that time didn't act like she did this season.
I hope Nathan and Elizabeth have a very short romantic courtship in S12 and then marry. We can still see romance in a marriage relationship for Nathan and Elizabeth. I want to see the blended family storylines. ❤ 👫 💍 👰 💒 🏡 👨👩👧👦 🐶 💘
Why cant the viewers see that Elizabeth only said yes to Lucas because she was fearful of being with Nathan and experience the same thing she went through with Jack. She was only with Lucas because he was safe!!
Sorry, but it just make her look bad. If she wanted "safe" relationship she should be honest with both of them, not go and play with Lucas and Nathan's feelings. For me, this looks like she never really loved any of them. I can't imagine she would ever do that to Jack.
It’s a stupid thing to do pick someone because he was the safe choice.and that isn’t why they broke up .Lindsey said there was going to be a wedding .And then changed her mind for reasons that don’t make sense. The only thing that would have made sense is if she picked Nathan from the beginning .
We have waited 10 seasons for Elizabeth to get married again and have a happy family. 😢 I was never team Nathan or team Lucas, just wanted her to find love again. Now it feels like we are starting over. I understand there needs to be some time for her to figure things out, but I hope they don’t drag this out. Please give us a beautiful love story, a wedding, and a happy family. (They already gave us a beautiful story, but oh well). Just don’t take 3 to 4 more seasons. I just don’t have it in me to wait again. 😞
I just had a Nathan fan counter against my comment on another channel. They don't agree with my comment about the breaking of the engagement. What I was told is that is wrong for them to do that. There are two people saying that its not wrong. I think it depends on the beliefs of the leader that you are taught under because even one internet source says that engagement is equivalent to marriage. It is a covenant relationship that one is breaking when they break an engagement. Christian standards have severe consequences when they are wrongly practiced and misunderstood. This series itself is a mixture and not following biblical standards.
@@chelseakkong i would have like a nice redemption story for Lucas with Elizabeth helping him to settle into small towns living... not another mountie...
@@MrsAPV I like Jack, Lucas, and Gabriel. These men have great character. Lucas fans wanted to see Elizabeth marry Lucas. If they allowed it to continue and finish their story properly, they would be happy. Then they can start the story again. The way they broke the engagement to make this happen really was not done properly. It caused Lucas fans to dislike the show. There are author fans who have stated that the writing is a retcon and it longer can be related to the previous seasons as the characters mostly changed in their personalities. Elizabeth became more matching to Nathan in this season. Mei became more suitable for Mike. Other characters changed a bit so they aren't the same people as they were previously. I felt that Elizabeth is no longer a likable character. I didn't like how everyone in the town was so concerned about her and the way they treated Lucas was awful. Nathan still has something against Lucas through all these seasons even though they became friends. I have no interest to see Elizabeth fall in love anymore. She needs to straighten out her heart as she still is grieving over Jack. Her breaking her own engagement and not being honest to the children is very non Christian even though she can break an engagement. I didn't agree that the calling was a strong enough reason. In season 11, it sounds like Lucas will be in Hope Valley even as governor. Whatever explanations that were given I actually do not support and know that this was their way of changing the direction. It is not a good example to people who are expecting to see a Christian series and I noticed that it has declined in showing the good Christian faith over the seasons after Jack was killed off and Abigail was removed. They have solid Christian character. The Canfield's now are the main ones representing good Christian faith. I am glad that Henry is going in this direction. Sadly, it is in their plan to drag out the relationship between Elizabeth and Nathan. I have no interest in watching an extended repeat version of Jack and Elizabeth's love relationship. That was what somebody commented will happen, so they make people wait a longer time to see that materialize just so they keep the showing going. I don't have patience or interest for that. They cut Lucas and Elizabeth relationship court and that is very unfair.
@@MrsAPV That makes no sense. Lucas changed from what he used to be. The first time I saw him, I didn't like his character, but when as time went by he changed to a likeable character. He even made the saloon into a hotel. He also became one cares about Hope Valley and the only one willing to run as governor to protect HV. The fact that he had to sacrifice made him a very important person. From what I see, Lucas has become a better person, but I don't see that about Nathan. Over the seasons he seems to be better, but still my overall impression of him is he is not a suitable person for Elizabeth in the former seasons. This new Elizabeth matches Nathan's character, but I don't like her character now. This show has lost things that used to be in it before. It has become a soap drama. I can't consider it as a Christian series even though there are still elements in it, but it has greatly declined from what it used to be before. I realized that tv series often has this problem that the longer it runs the worse it becomes. People change things. There have been many complaints now about the show runner, Brian Bird, and the new writers that the scripting for this season was not well written. It is only written to please the Nathan fans. If somebody looks at both sides objectively, they will pinpoint where they failed. It is not just about who Elizabeth should marry. It is about whether the story writing is good or not. I have read several novels already and I would say this season of WCTH is not good writing.
I always loved this show. It has been my little getaway from life. I feel like i am part of the town. It makes me happy and can feel all of their emotions. ❤ you all!
Elizabeth officially morphed into a teenage girl trying to decide on a prom date, instead of a mature, strong woman. She took years to decide on Lucas and then deserted him at the eleventh hour when he needed her the most. She has lost all credibility as the heroine of the show.
So, I don't WATCH this show, but I did just binge-listen to the whole series, my woman watched it while I was gaming in the same room. I kept telling her the show reminded me of Little House on the Prairie, the setting, writing and themes. As a MST3K fan and an old man, I have extensive familiarity with Michael Landon, when I discovered this show was developed by his son, I was barely surprised. Wholesome entertainment with good intentions, I just wanted to show my appreciation and chose this comment section because I grew up watching Entertainment Tonight.
I thought the last few episodes were handled beautifully and I hadn’t watched since season 8. I loved her scene at Jack’s grave and I believe she confessed who she really loves. I was glad they didn’t throw Elizabeth and Nathan into some passionate kiss that soon after her breakup with Lucas. I always have thought Lucas belongs with Fiona.
@cristianateixeirasantos4417 Fiona did say that's why she meddled in other people's life. To not think of her own. Maybe that was a hint of what's to come. With Lucas.
Team Nathan, Team Lucas? Are we all in the 7th grade? Who cares? Get on to some new and improved way to drive the plot. This continuing story arc (now going on 5 years now) shows a real lack of creativity and imagination.
Here's hoping you don't get a love story between Elizabeth & Nathan for 2+ years just to have Elizabeth realize that Nathan isn't Jack & breaks up with him, too.
Who's to say that after 2+ years Elizabeth will realize that she hasn't found Jack in Nathan? After all, Lindsay & Brian said that if Elizabeth & Lucas were to marry, their storyline would end, WCTH would end. So if they don't believe that their writers can continue a good storyline for Elizabeth & Lucas, what will they do with Elizabeth & Nathan? Oh, I forgot, Nathan is a Mountie, he'll do Mountie duties & Elizabeth will worry just like she did for Jack or maybe Nathan will continue making his rounds...boring.
It seemed she had already chosen Lucus and Nathan was just a friend. She definitely was affectonate and showed she was "in love" with him. How can Elizabeth change back to not really loving him? We are disappointed.
Have the TL fans ever watched "the Notebook"? Allie loves Noah, gets engaged to Lon and comes back to Noah 7 yrs later. Same with E&N, it's really not that hard to grasp. It worked well for The Notebook, it will work well for WCTH
@@chrisb1863 Yes & if you listen to podcasts with Lindsay, she references other shows that she got 'inspiration' from. Apparently that's what she does: takes stories from other shows & tries to fit them into WCTH,. Well, sorry, but they don't always work....like now!
Não aceito Elizabeth separar do Lucas e f icar com Nathan não tem nada haver. Acho ele um bom amigo e mais nada. A série vai perder muito se acontecer isso.
Take it slow writers! No kiss on next seasons ...build their relationship thru friendship and bonding and supporting each other...for the fans to trust the writers or creators' storylines again!!or lead to a final happy ending!!witha bang!!Lol!
Validated after they totally rewrote the history of the show? Yeah, if it makes you feel better to believe that. Without a total rewrite there was not a romantic relationship between Nathan and Elizabeth. I guess complaining does sometimes get people what they want.
Nathan's character is stupid if he trusts that her heart is now with him...I love you but I am not in love with you oh wait I changed my mind...shows no real character or grace.
@@amandaesslinger7343 Only he´s second choice now. If it were real life, which of course it isn´t, Nathan wouldn´t give her the time of day. Neither Nathan nor Lucas deserved such shabby treatment.
Nathan wants to marry out of guilt over what happened to Jack. Thats not love. He is not better than Lucas. Lucas is a hero in his own way. So i hope he comes back to settle with Elizabeth
Nathan moved to Hope Valley because he felt a duty to watch over Elizabeth & Jack. (Rosemary called that, "noble & selfless".) He tried to move on with both Mei & Faith, but "something was in the way"... guess we'll find out in S11 if it might be his love for Elizabeth. Nathan & Lucas both have their strengths & weaknesses... but Nathan is definitely a better match for Elizabeth. S10 highlighted how wrong Elizabeth & Lucas are for each other. She likes simple things... he likes grand gestures/surprises. She is content in her row house & wants to raise Jack in Hope Valley... Lucas wanted to build a castle, was destined for a bigger stage & said he "found his calling" as governor. Why would anyone even want Lucas & Elizabeth together after she said he was her "safe" choice & that she couldn't give him her whole heart?
Boy...that's a kind interpretation. Actually, I think Elizabeth came off looking like a moon-struck teenager, agonizing over who to go to prom with, instead of a strong. mature woman. Couldn't/shouldn't she have had that "talk with Jack" before she accepted his proposal? It's not like she took years to decide on Lucas, only to desert him at the eleventh hour when he needed her most. Oh wait a minute...that's exactly what she did.
The only thing bright about HV future is Lucas saving the town not E and N. Jack and Lucas are men of action who made HV better... Nathan best remains a Jail keeper to satisfy E fantasies.
Lucas's dreams were always too big for Elizabeth. I never liked their chemistry. I quit watching because I didn't like the way they were together. But, I decided to binge the season just to see and I'm glad I did. Elizabeth had always been slow and deliberate with her choices. I hope Elizabeth and Nathan get together!
They're not suited for each other!!! Nathan and Elizabeth definitely not. Good luck to all the fan of Nathan and Elizabeth .. welcome to a boring episode.
Lucas dreams were never big He said it twice “this is where I want to be here with you” He asked first if he should run & she said yes.volunteered to go with him then backed out .
@mccormickcandd totally agree with you! you really got it. He found his true call in politics and in a big city. I also was not touched by their chemistry... Yes she is slow to decide... she was grieving a loss husband with a small child... of course a woman chooses safety above all in those circumstances
🛑🛑🛑I am so happy that Elizabeth is finally going with Nathan I couldn’t stand it all those months when she didn’t belong with Lucas had absolutely nothing in common with him and she kept compromising her morals to fit in with him… Thank God you guys changed it I seen the love between them all these years thank you thank you thank you
🛑🛑🛑 One more thing I would like to add… If I hadn’t been such a true fan I would’ve stopped watching it when she picked Lucas because I just knew in my heart it was the wrong choice and it made me frustrated and sad but now I’m holding hope that she will completely open her heart and realize she should be with Nathan 180% ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
@@MrsAPVIt's about the MAN, N ot the occupation. Maybe at first she did see Jack in Nathan but after all this time, she gets to know him beyond him being a mountie. They always find one another, they think alike, and understand each other, they always know what one another is feeling. Their on screen chemistry is magical. I always believed she would love Lucas for now, but love Nathan forever. As Rosemary said, maybe engagements show you if you're really meant for that person. They are too different. Nathan and Elizabeth just connect. 👌🏻💖
@@EllebaybayX0 the only one with a problem is Elizabeth. She only thinks of nathan when she visits Jacks grave. She said before that nathan came for a reason but not her life time. She needs to talk to pastor Joseph for advice. 😀 I know a lot of folks want the teacher mountie connection but the novel is based on another Elizabeth thatcher who is this Elizabeths aunt on william thatchers side. It was her aunt who married a mountie. The one erin plays in the series (the younger Elizabeth) didn't marry a mountie. The story continues in "when tomorrow comes" where the older Elizabeths daughter struggles to find a husband. She will not marry this rich good guy for the same fears Elizabeth in the series has.. fear of high society life. She will eventually marry the rich man who was genuine and humble and down to earth called carlton after they both prayed for God's direction ... so not sure where this series is heading. But the books are amazing.
Totally agree! They both have the chemistry and am a great fan of Kevin...biased perhaps for the role he is playing - tho I do like Chris a lot too he is good looking for sure, but not for Elizabeth love interest ...Mountie & Teacher is for me!!sorry Lucas fans!!!
@@MrsAPVI've never read them, I intend to though. I know Janette Oak said, whomever Elizabeth chooses doesn't matter so long as the essence of the story and show doesn't change.. we're headed into the 1920s, and I don't think when the show started that it would become so beloved. Lucas allowed Elizabeth to open her heart again, he was loving and kind, and adoring...lavishly.. but we all know Elizabeth just wants a simple life with her son in Hope Valley. At the end of the day, their dreams just didn't align. I feel for all Lucas fans, Nathan fans (I am one) have felt this same disappointment and sadness, Lucas deserves a woman who can give him EVERYTHING and who shares his big dreams, that woman is just not Elizabeth. I also agree and HOPE she speaks to Pastor Joseph, there's a lot of changes coming for her in Season 11. ❤
So here's how I will sum seasons 6 to 10. 1. Elizabeths heart isn't healed to marry another mountie. 2. She protects her heart by picking a safe choice who is loving, patient, kind and thoughtful and adoring as she says in S8 finale. 3. Once heart is ready to face the challenge of marrying a mountie... she can break the heart of her safe choice and move on in life... 4. This is the summary of Elizabeths journey... play with another persons heart to feel safe and break it apart when your heart is ready to face fears. She is a master...
Lucas deserved more respect. All the sacrifice he made for Elizabeth was for nothing. I'm so dissapointed in so many levels and I don't care about next season anymore.
I’m devastated too ,I’ve said it a million times either Nathan or Lucas but it should have been done from the beginning. This way they spilt the fans even more than before. And there was no reason for this It just makes E look bad ..And Erin looks very happy about it .ugh
@@lucyrosinina5505if they change it once, they will do it again ( hurting more fans on both sides). Remember when they said no more love triangles? I don't trust these writers.
He is a silly match for E - insulting the commonsense of fans to even propose it let alone this nauseous and exhausting love triangle we had to pretend was OK for a whole season...... I always support the right of an author of a series that is optioned to choose who they end up with but this is nonsensical........
At the train station Lucas said he knew deep inside that something was missing between them. It was more of them both admitting they knew they weren't meant to marry. On the phone he told her she was right. He would have regretted it had he not got on that train. He was meant for something bigger and the city life. She is meant to be a small town school teacher. As far as her with multiple men, isn't that what dating is all about? She only got serious with 2, Jack & Lucas. Jack died. Lucas wanted a different life. Just my opinion.
I have always hoped that Elizabeth and Nathan would finally end up together. But with respect to the producers and writers, I just waited with hope after that twist in the last minutes of season 8, ep 12 when Elizabeth chose Lucas despite the strong hints of a romance with Nathan. Then this twist came in ep 11 of Season 10. Hopefully it's E&N. If it's them, it will take time, of course.. Patience is a virtue indeed. Also, the development of the other characters are wonderful especially Henry's. Cheers WCTH!
I hate to say it, but this is the final nail in the coffin for me with this show. I find Elizabeth not a likable character anymore. She strung two men on, told one she only loved him as a friend, professed her love for the other, got her son emotionally involved with the man she promised to marry, calls it off and only loves him as a friend? What a fickle pickle! Lucas and Nathan deserve better then that flake! Peace out WCTH!
I agree with you. I can't accept the comments here about people being happy. Many fans are not happy with this season and not happy about next season either. They purposely changed things.
@@elizabethczify That's very sad. I was told that the show runner and new writers binged watched the whole series so they don't have a solid background knowledge of the characters and etc. That is why this season is totally off and next season will be off too. None of it makes sense anymore and most of the characters are no longer the characters we knew. they basically rewrote the character and story and they should have called it something different.
@@elizabethczifyI'm not sure it would matter if they would have watched Seasons 8 & 9. Seems most of TN think Elizabeth & Lucas don't have any chemistry, BUT think there's off the wall chemistry between Elizabeth & Nathan....SAY WHAT??? No, they wanted to change the storyline from Elizabeth & Lucas to Elizabeth & Nathan, hopefully to secure more Seasons. Anyway, the changes just don't make sense. @@cristianateixeirasantos4417 Lucas evidently was scared to go, and he openly said he didn’t want to, but felt the need to. I believe wholeheartedly that Lucas desires to help people, and feels he can make change through politics. However, he has said repeatedly through the series that what he wants at the bottom of his heart is a home, stability, family, and love. Everyone pushes Lucas back toward the world, even as he chooses time and again his new adventure, which is Elizabeth’s and Jack Jr. Lucas doesn’t want the work, he wants a home. Hope Valley never embraced him as their own. In fact, they told him he didn’t belong
This is not the pioneering adventurer and loyal Elizabeth of the books - this is some daft cheater who is only responding to a uniform. Totally disgusted that even though a fake storyline this is all the wholesome goodness they can come up with......... so ugly after putting up with an irritating love triangle the season before........
Perpetual love triangle leaves me speechless. It was SO unpopular before, writers thought itd be a good idea to bring it back? Extraordinary poor writing... Years and there's nothing new to write??? Laughable. Sad for Janette Oke and her extraordinary stories.
Literally. I was so frustrated with her choice last season because it made no sense. Now it still doesn't. Lucas was the safe choice, but she was looking for Jack in Nathan? How are they going to resolve that? I only watched the finale this season and if the next is another love triangle season, I'll likely skip it too. It's not entertaining and it's frustrating.
Same here. Totally disappointed in how the new show runner has cheapened the show and Elizabeth's character. I have watched all the seasons and don't care to watch any more. Awful season and I can only assume that 11 will be just as bad. This is not the character nor integrity of the show I started watching.
I don't understand how E breaks up with L at the train station, but everyone in Hope Valler acts like she's the victim. I don't care to see a romance with Nathan and Elizabeth. If that was the end game, she should have chosen him then. All that was built in her relationship with Lucas has more depth than anything she ever had with Nathan. Physical attraction is not a relationship. Having her drag her feet, and finally chose L, be openly in love with pda with him, all to call it a "safe" choice at the end is repulsive. Did you forget how he challenged her to be a better writer, and helped fulfill her dream to be published? Gave her a Library to go with the school Jack built her? What foes she really has with N if not lust? The Elizabeth character lost integrity, values, and common decency. Yet, she's the one being cuddled, and we're supposed to be happy at her making bedroom eyes to Nathan on the day she was suppose to marry L? I really use to love this show because it was different, and had good values, faith and community. But now it leaves a bad taste iny mouth. The entire team L, team N was despicable to begin with, but now the very lame breakup and emotional cheating on your fiancee, yet no one in Hope Valley calls her on that behavior is very off-putting!
So well said. Everyone in hope valley even the children think Lucas is the villain, well in reality we know who is E doesn’t even bother to explain to the children that she was the one who told Lucas to run for the elections.
For those of you who understand "love language" it is easier to understand that E and L did not communicate in terms of how they shared their love for each other. L was always showing E how much he loved her through grand gestures. She would always come back with her desire fore more subtle intimate gestures. The only passionate kiss they shared were immediately after E chose L. Their kisses after that were formal or more platonic. E's relationship with N has always been cordial hiding the smoldering emotions beneath the surface. They have built a strong loving relationship as friends because their love language is similar and more personal. This series has always been subtle and has evolved as circumstances evolve. Deep relationships take a lot of time, patience and effort to build and sustain. We as viewers of the show aren't as patient because we get small snippets for 12 weeks every 12 months. Our feelings about season endings change with time. Now it's time to calm ourselves so we're ready for what comes next.
It’s an unbelievable storyline. Nathan is lackluster. And it’s ridiculous to think she’s been harboring feelings for Nathan through this whole relationship with Lucas. It’s ridiculous.
Give us break, the beautiful intimate scenes with Lucas & Elizabeth were off the charts, if l were Nathan l wouldn’t go anywhere near her, he is her third choice after all, make no mistake she’s a total diva, stringing two handsome men, they should leave her to raise her son and not hook her up so quickly, that way she may gain her credibility back.
They have always been very different. She picked the safe man because losing Jack was still very raw. HE was her true love. However… even Jack wants her to move on and love again. You now know how those of us on team Nathan felt two years ago. It’s hard but that’s what I love about it. I’m so glad I didn’t leave the show and have stayed to watch the journey. We still don’t know if Nathan is the man she’ll be with but I’m excited to find out.😀
If Lucas was a safe choice, then Elizabeth should be the actress not Rosemary. There's no way the relationship she had with Lucas was because he was a safe choice. That was the dumbest line ever said the whole season. It just shows that the showrunner is so clueless about the characters and this show.
They made Elizabeth into a terrible person . Lucas deserves so much more. Can we have a Lucas spin off , because I’m done with HV . He’s our saving the town , and they are all hanging around his place , using his office , his phone , his radio. Yet all they care about is how Elizabeth is doing . Gross
We are so very grateful to you Erin, and all of the people that make When Calls the Heart a reality for us! May God bless all of you! We are so very excited for Season 11 !!! In the meantime, we have all of the seasons on DVD, and will keep it alive!
In real life, if more people were honest with themselves and each other, fewer heartbreaks would happen. This was the right decision, within the story. Team Nathan, lol!
I can understand when a couple has to break up & go on different paths. But do it organically and with authentic honest storytelling. For whatver reason you decided to switch to a different end game and then set out to disprove established canon, storyline , commitments and character growth and changed two people, their goals and their dreams ( Lucas's was consistent over 5 seasons that he had seen a lot of the world and wanted to just belong finally in a place he could call home and build a family and help the community). Elizabeth saying she was not "following her heart" for the last 3 + seasons makes her character lose all integrity and makes a farce of the whole show -especially when she took her time to start a relationship & committed to it again and again by her actions. Breaking up a couple is not an issue but insulting your viewers intelligence by the way you got there is - this sort of thing is what comes to hurt a show's longevity.
Thank you for your comments. I agree with everything you've said. And you're right, they have insulted our intelligence. Again, it's just a show, but a show we love to watch because it takes you to a fantasy world with love, friendships, commitments & a little bit of drama. But how they ended that beautiful relationship was like saying, 'hey stupid, Elizabeth never really loved Lucas so now she's going to go after Nathan. Lucas is happy for her because she finally found Jack in Nathan. Now sit back & enjoy as Elizabeth kisses & hugs Nathan as passionately as she did Lucas!' UGH, insulting.
This was extremely disappointing and out of character. How can they build up a real love story in four seasons and destroy it in a single episode? If she wanted Nathan, she would have chosen Nathan in the first place!
Alot of viewers are saying they feel insulted and led on and are disappointed that a three year long relationship ended in a few minutes. I respectfully disagree. I personally did not think L& E were a good match, simply because of their different values. No doubt they loved each other and the relationship was authentic, however it was clear to me all season E was having doubts even before the whole Governor thing. I didn't even realize Nathan was even on her radar until they had that moment in her house after Allie babysat for the first time. I always saw an undeniable chemistry with E & N but she never allowed herself to pursue or even acknowledge it due to her past experience, which made it easy for her to chose Lucas; the safe, comfortable, low risk choice. I am not surprised at all by the authenticity of how things ended because I always saw things this way, if anything it shocked me that it actually happened cause now here she is again single and potentially about to start yet another romance. My hope is that they deal with this delicately and in a timely manner.
Agree! Integrity and wholesomeness remain I hope not this rooting for L or N..we must enjoy the show and remain respectful and compassionate as fans ..life is difficult as it is and I have to remind myself its only a show!
“Being true to what was in their hearts”? “Being true to their authentic selves”? No, not at all. On season 8 finale, Elizabeth said “I’ve allowed myself to drift between two good men, whom I never intended to mislead. And so I’ve come to a realization that being untrue to them, I’ve been untrue to myself”. Then she rejected Nathan by saying “I do love you…but I’m not in love with you”. Then ran to Lucas, and eventually said “yes” to marrying him. After everything Lucas had opened up to her about what he went through growing up. She let Little Jack and Lucas build a relationship. She let Lucas believe they are his family. 3 years of Lucas and Elizabeth thrown out within 3 episodes, and making it official within 3 minutes. This show used to be wholesome, it’s now a dishonest show. Thanks for confirming that, Erin.
As she left his office and walked down the steps she said Nathan was not her Lifetime nor was she to be his. Do the writers think we all have dementia and not remember what is said and what is filmed.
The only reason Lucas felt led to save Hope Valley is because of his love for Elizabeth, she pushed him into running by the way she kept expressing her love of Hope Valley, her fear of change , ( a sign of immaturity), it's all about what Elizabeth wants and no one else, the writers have her character become insufferable, melancholic, fickle and self-centered just like your typical Soap Opera. She obviously loves the town more than she can love any man. She doesn't deserve Lucas or Nathan. The way she has played with their hearts because of her own insecurities and unresolved grief over Jack, she should have remained single like her book, "A Single Mother on the Frontier", that way she would not have hurt any man. This show used to be a wholesome family show, not a soap opera full of romantic entanglements and drama. I don't watch Days of Our Lives , hate the whole SO dynamics, unfortunately they are turning WCTH into one. 😢
Biggest gaslighting of an audience I have ever seen committed by a television show. I read an interview with Brian Bird, who stated, and I paraphrase, the show had to change direction to maintain the longevity of the show and keep Elizabeth in Hope Valley. He must think we are truly stupid viewers. His writers created the false dilemma of Elizabeth having to choose between Hope Valley and Lucas. And how does BB know that Elizabeth without Lucas guarantees more viewers. Good heavens. I took all my WCTH merchandise to Goodwill today-and it was cathartic. I will not be duped again.
I hate that the season is over already! I wish that When Calls the Heart could be on every Sunday evening year round. This is our favorite show on TV and Hallmark is our favorite channel to watch. At least we can start watching the new Christmas movies now. I've recorded all my favorite Hallmark Christmas and regular season movies so I watch them whenever I want.
Same here. Totally disappointed in how the new show runner has cheapened the show and Elizabeth's character. I have watched all the seasons and don't care to watch any more. Awful season and I can only assume that 11 will be just as bad. This is not the character nor integrity of the show I started watching.
Ratings and additional seasons is what this production is all about. Elizabeth will cozy up to however many men she needs to for more seasons. watch out Nathan - she already crushed the soul of several men and shown that dangling men on a string is how she operates, you could be next....ratings and additional seasons is top priority! The word of Erin and Brian are worthless - ratings and additional seasons is what it is all about.
You are right. There is a way to tell the story, to keep a show going without lying and misleading fans and then attempting to justify it. Brian Bird and Erin Krakow lost their integrity during/after season 8. They are not people of integrity. WCTH used to be a show that seemed built on principles of honesty/integrity but it is now a show built on manipulating viewers (even with a new showrunner since Tinker is no longer the showrunner). I understand that ratings matter but not at the expense of truth and not at the expense of losing one's integrity. Brian Bird's integrity was shot two years ago...and Erin Krakow's too. That's the real issue here, as you correctly and directly pointed out.
Elizabeth is so wishy washy when it comes to men. Nathan will be her 3rd choice and then onto her 4th choice -- Hickam. She's got to work the four in real life friends to the forefront of the show.
@@joannedrozdowski8746 which is why I don't like this idea of fiona and Lucas people are pushing... it feels like it will make her also a lead .. because Lucas is popular in the show. And now hickam runs the saloon
I stopped watching this show during season 8 after she stomped all over Nathan's heart and began treating him like he was lower than the dirt on the bottom of her shoes, all because he told her that he was in love with her. However, I went back and watched season 8 again and the signs were all there that she really was in love with Nathan. First, when he told her that he was in love with her she said that she had to leave and he asked her not to go and she said, "If I don't leave now I won't be able to". Second, at the jail when Nathan told her that love was worth fighting for, she just turned and left. In neither situation did she tell Nathan that she didn't love him. When she later told Lucas on her front porch about Nathan telling her again that he was in love with her Lucas asked her what did she say and she told Lucas that she didn't say anything. Lucas seemed upset after she told him that she didn't say anything and left. Third, when the oil rig exploded Elizabeth didn't show not one ounce of concern knowing that Lucas was out there. If there's the slightest chance of anything happening to Nathan she begins to fall apart, like she did in season 7 and season 10 when she thought that he may have been shot. Henry tried to tell her about her feelings for Nathan but she walked away from him. For those people who say that she only see Jack in Nathan she has told Rosemary and Jack himself at his grave that she wasn't being honest with herself. Also in season 8 whenever she thought that no one was looking she couldn't stop staring at Nathan. When she was with Lucas's mother in her room when she went to open the window there was Nathan talking to Bill and she just stood there staring at him until Lucas's mother interrupted her. She did the same thing when Lucas was with her at the school. She was walking towards the door and saw Nathan riding by and just stopped and stared at him until Lucas walked up behind her. Elizabeth was in love with Nathan all along but was afraid of being broken again if he died like Jack did. She said ss much to Rosemary and again at Jacks grave when she said, " what if I break again and can't put the pieces back together, especially since I have little Jack to think about ". It wasn't fair to Lucas but she chose him to protect her heart from loving Nathan.
It’s just so sad that they can’t just pick a story and stick with it. They spend forever having E make her choice, then an entire season of her head over heels in love. And now all of a sudden it was just a “safe” choice and she has been emotionally cheating on her fiancé and the day they are supposed to get married she is already making googly eyes at Nathan? This show used to be about family and love and all that is good in the world and now I don’t even want to watch it. What a waste.
Same here. Totally disappointed in how the new show runner has cheapened the show and Elizabeth's character. I have watched all the seasons and don't care to watch any more. Awful season and I can only assume that 11 will be just as bad. This is not the character nor integrity of the show I started watching.
Totally! I have no trust in the writers. Change is one thing. Shows need change in order to progress and maintain interest. But to basically undo the character development and storyline over 3 seasons like this is wack and I don't really want to invest time in it anymore if the show is just always going to be prone to this bait and switch tactic.
I susbcribe to a channel to watch this show ,think I will be cancelling today .This show is not worth paying to watch it anymore. I’m still in shock how such a beautiful love story could just end the way it did .
Yeah, I was so sad about the breakup. It makes no sense how the show is written. The old Elizabeth would have been thrilled to be getting married, take on new challenges ( I won't forget the hot air balloon ride), and would not be second guessing her choice about Lucas by emotionally cheating on him with Nathan ( no integrity). We are not stupid and saw the past 3 seasons how L/E got together!! They lied about a wedding. How cruel of the producers ( Erin) and the writers.
Well yes Elizabeth's and Lucas break up was very tuff on Lucas's fans but just remember at the end of Season 8 it was also tuff on Nathan's fans..just saying..I'm so glad I never took sides all along since Season 1 I have truly enjoyed this beautiful show and will continue watching no matter what storyline it has..some people are critizing Elizabeth as to having 5 man, well if I remember correctly she has only had 1 true love and has been married only to one...she never dated the others except for Lucas. In my opinion and being married for 43 years, if you are not 100 percent sure you truly love someone or want to be with that one you are engaged to its best to break it off before you get married..that just my opinion of course. Thank you for this great interview and I am patiently waiting for Season 11.
I am SO thrilled! I can watch this series again. I want to see Elizabeth with Nathan in a happy relationship(eventual marriage) and for Lucas, a really interesting love relationship and marriage with a woman we haven't met yet . Yes, I want happy endings . Happy relationships overcoming things in life together is very interesting and satisfying.
Lindsay Sturman ruined the show! Season 10 was a hot mess. Why are we going backwards here? Elizabeth finally moved on with Lucas, practically begged him to propose to her in S9 to break up with him in S10? Yeah, that makes sense..Nathan was interested in Mei, then Faith now he’s suddenly in love with Elizabeth again? This isn’t One Tree Hill. I never got the obsession with Nathan & Elizabeth I always thought their scenes were awkward and boring. Sorry but it’s going to be really boring if she ends up with Nathan. And what, is Nathan supposed to tell Little Jack that he was responsible for his dad’s death? That’s just plain weird. Not sure why Elizabeth would go to a man that was responsible for her former husband’s death
The history of Elizabeth and Lucas is beautiful and now it’s changing a lot, doesn’t make sense, I think the writer should finish this story, we getting tired of this.
I guess Elizabeth finally found Jack in Nathan. I wonder how that will work out. As far as him being a father figure for Little Jack how can we not forget Allie’s bad behaviors. It sticks in my head how in S8 after knowing Elizabeth and Lucas were seeing one another she went ahead made a beautiful card to invite Elizabeth to dinner with Nathan. When Elizabeth said she wouldn’t be going to dinner Allie pleaded and said she already checked with Laura to babysit or she could bring Little Jack with her. Then when she didn’t get the answer she wanted she nastily and abruptly pulled the invite from Elizabeth, tore it in half and stormed away. Unacceptable behavior. Nathan’s pouty and so is Allie. She has learned from her uncle/dad. I can’t think if Elizabeth would want that around her young son.
I am disappointed in Erins comments. Even Chris Mcnally in his edify interview had more empathy for the fans who believed in the love story of Lucas and Elizabeth that they created in season 9. Her giddiness about her and Nathan..... I dont get it. The continuity isnt there from season 9. Plus saying that Lucas wanted the big city life is a flat out lie. Come on....
Totally agree with you Her interview was so different than Chris’. She was too excited about being with Nathan next season.I don’t understand that either.
I'm just simply saying this as another perspective, not to argue. I always felt like season 9 was inconsistent with the rest of the series. I was along for the ride, because at the end of the day it's just a story, a story that we all live vicariously through, but none the less a story. I'm looking forward to the next season and wherever the stories go.
I agree with you. She was so excited it’s ridiculous. And she said it was the decision of both ,not Lucas only her.she blindsided Lucas .also saying it was the right move .the right move for what ??Both ladies said it was handled delicately.I didn’t think so It was cruel . And saying it was the right move.
Way to go Elizabeth !! I know she doesn’t write the story but she doesn’t have to act so giddy & excited about it.She said she deserves love.If that wasn’t love with Lucas I dont t know what is . What a poorly written story that made no sense. This is not what WCTH is.
Truly disappointing makes me not to watch season 11. Elizabeth really used Lucas and led him to believe she wanted to spend the rest of her life with him. I’m sure Little Jack is going to miss Luca. You really did gaslight the fans.
Same here. Totally disappointed in how the new show runner has cheapened the show and Elizabeth's character. I have watched all the seasons and don't care to watch any more. Awful season and I can only assume that 11 will be just as bad. This is not the character nor integrity of the show I started watching.
@@teresaarwood7752 for once E is not a whiny teenager running around kissing the 🧔 around HV cos she chose him since he is safest most comfortable and secure, nothing cheap about her character in s10. Well can’t please everyone, tinker turned it into soap opera in s8&9
I’m disappointed the writers decided ending Elizabeth and Lucas’s relationship. It was a beautiful, romantic, believable courtship, the relationship with little Jack was adorable and fun, and such a sweet proposal. The chemistry between the two was great, and came across very romantic, and realistic. The writers had the actors committed to one another, and had Lucas go above and beyond to show he was there for her. It was a great love story written, and viewers love to see good chemistry onscreen, and a happy every after. I was looking forward to their wedding, and future plans as husband and wife, and raising little Jack together. To be engaged to Lucas, and now have Elizabeth change her love for him back to Nathan who she previously told she loved him, but was not in love with him, is just bad writing, confusing, and disappointing for us viewers. There is no chemistry with Elizabeth and Nathan on screen romantically, they just look like good friends, or siblings, and the writers should have kept it that way. It was a cute, caring, fun friendship. It will be hard to appear believable being anything more. I do love the series, and the actors, and acting are great.
Horrible just horrible.... That's the explanation behind the wrecking ball??? Nobody understands your writing nor your logic??? Senseless... You know, I think that a lot of the viewers dont understand the turn of events because from our point of view Elizabeth sure took her sweet time after Jack died to get over the hurt, even if it's very understandable. After she realized she was ready to start dating again, there was a lot of build up in the storyline before she ended up choosing Lucas. First, she led them both (L&N) on for a very long time. Flurting and building them against each other. Lucas even let her go so she could sort out her feelings because he could see that her feelings were all over the place. Even then the nonsense went on for ever between N/E/L. It was Rosemary that got through to her eventualy by making her realize that she needed to make a choice between Lucas and Nathan, sooner rather than later. So after getting over herself, she ended up telling Nathan she did not love him and saw him as Jack... Outch ... So obviously she chose to be with Lucas. That choice was based on Lucas' caracter, goodness, courage, generosity, maturity, actions, grace and class. He made her challenge herself in ways nobody else ever did because he understands her heart very well. Lucas did everything in his power to please her and little Jack too til the very end. He even ran for Governor of HV to please her and the town because they all said "if you dont run, nobody else can and we will loose our beloved HV". OMG!!! He said it himself... I dont want to run for Governor and leave HV, but I feel I have to, because there is no one else (The town and Elizabeth made him feel that way, all that pressure no volunteer to help, certainly not Elizabeth). After he accepts to try to help, she then admits that she cannot give him her whole heart??? I really tried??? Tried to what love him??? OMG!!!! You were ment for a bigger stage???? What the heck was that???? Im not a writter but jeeesssshh!!! Very very bad writing and planning. Where did Seasons 8, 9 and early 10 go? The SHORT explanations you offered in the two last episodes were just inacceptable. You spent seasons to build the love between L&E, which by the way, never showed Elizabeth unhappy with him in anything, and then it took a few lines in Elizabeth's diary to erase everything. The next day she is trying to convince the hole Town that everything is has it should be. No tears, no emotion, I'm fine???? OMG that was so cruel and on top of it, she lets the children blame Lucas for leaving when all this time she is to blame for their breakup. Writters, we have been through the love triangle already, she did not want the immature, hot/cold, insecure, moody, lying constable (sorry TN but he is all those things), she chose Lucas for all the right reasons. She may have left the high life behind but she still needed someone from the same background, wanting the same things in life and wanting to live in HV. Lucas was that perfect choice. Plus he had the patience to endure her childish behaviors and decisions, and forgave her. And another thing, what about little Jack's feelings? She knowns how much he is sad about not having a Daddy. He was getting very close to Lucas and she makes a decision like that??? She is more worried about her students than her child. She is supposed to be an example for the community. In one season you have deminished and ruined her caracter un the eyes of her beloved public and fans. Why would you do that? Writters/Producers, you never gave us a story were Elizabeth is starting to doubt or something slowly building inside her heart or a few conversations with Rosemary telling her about her feelings, or again Lucas doing very bad things that she didn't approve of, something to go on in order for us to feel your turn of events. I thought that this tv show was a well felt, well thought and well written tv show with no soap opera moments???? I'm sooooooooo disapointed... I should have known it was to good to be true... 😢😢
OH MY GOODNESS......So very well said. I 100% agree with you. I know this is only a TV show, but it's frustrating when they write certain parts in a storyline that don't make sense. I listened to a podcast with the Official Hearties Admins & Lindsey Sterman (showrunner) & Elizabeth Stewart (writer) a few days ago & they basically were explaining what happened in Season 10. There were ssoooo many questions, not only from the Admins but also the Hearties. And there were ssoooo many 'Thank You's' for explaining what happened in Season 10. Everyone was so happy, but I just sat there shaking my head thinking 'are you not getting that you're taking a full hour explaining what viewers should have seen on the TV?' I wish your comments could be read by these two ladies & Brian Bird or even Erin, then maybe they would get why so many of us are frustrated & upset. Well, thank you for taking the time to write down your thoughts.
S10 was a dumpster fire and they are smiling through it all and acting like it’s a great writing. Intelligent fans know the difference, but fans who only want the Mountie are eating it up. This used to be a show that was different from the rest, now it’s just another lame soap opera.
@@Shannon-wg4ff Oh so true! I just keep shaking my head thinking 'how the heck did they truly believe that breaking Lucas & Elizabeth's engagement & having Elizabeth say, 'I tried to give you my whole heart, but just couldn't' made sense! This woman was over the moon in LOVE with Lucas. She LOVES the relationship that has grown between Lucas & Little Jack, she believed that had they lost EVERYTHING in the fire, there would still be LOVE.....NO, after 2+ years of growing together & thinking' she wanted to 'marry' this man she SUDDENLY realized she made a MISTAKE & made the WRONG choice....the safe choice.…all along she wanted to be with Nathan???? Maybe it's because she saw Nathan with Faith, being happy, that she became jealous! See, I'm not a writer but I can write a STUPID storyline just like the writers did, only I don't get paid for it. Yes, in one Season, they have managed to totally ruin the joy of watching WCTH.
What did we expect Krakow to say...the writers and producers really screwed up? Of course everyone directly connected with the show will defend the story arc. They're paid big bucks to do so. However, having Elizabeth flip-flop back and forth between 2 guys for FIVE YEARS is a bit much. Can the lady not make up her mind. After all, she putzed around for several seasons trying to decide what/who she wanted and then flipped again. Too much...she seems more like a teenager trying to decide on a prom date than a mature, strong, decisive woman. Aren't the writers creative enough to develop some new twists for the show?
Is English your second or third language? "The Serie (whatever that word means...perhaps you meant to say "series" and just can't spell) revamps (I think you intended to say reflects) real-life feelings". Really? Actually, it reflects the writers' feeble attempt at depicting real-life feelings. They are failing miserably. Nobody wants to lose a "close one"...(you probably meant to say "loved one"...the more customary reference). I think you might have a future writing for this show. ie> @@cristianateixeirasantos4417
So given what you said, how long will it be before she changes her mind again? I've known a number of widows in real life and none of them did the flip flopping Elizabeth did. I think this has more to do with keeping the ratings up than reflectng real life. @@cristianateixeirasantos4417
Has anyone noticed thst the words 'Be Safe' has been useed so many times? Lizbeth said that finally to Nathan in 10. It's their way of telling eachother how much they care
Loool, fans were devastated when Jack died, some fans were devaststed when she chose Lucas and now some fans are devastated they are broken up. After all that the show is still going and the die hard fans are still gonna be here regardless of the direction of storylines.
The stories use to be wholesome and make sense. Now they are all over the place. I realize these are fictional characters but Elizabeth is starting to get on my nerves. My opinion. 😊
@@mariea2710 The nature of the storytelling has definitely changed and I do think there's alot more drama than has been necessary, however I still watch; not as enthusiastically as before but still.
I will watch too I think ,but like you I’m not as enthusiastic as before. But I do want to know what happens to Lucas. And if he gets a good storyline I will continue to watch .probably skip the N& E scenes .
Nathan does not make a good couple with Elizabeth. Lucas was so perfect for her, so much that he was willing to save Hope Valley. What a huge mistake to take Lucas out of her life.
To me, the blame for all this mess lies with the previous show runner. WCTH lost so much of its heart during his seasons. It got silly, and the characters felt a little uncanny valley tbh! The fact that E chose Lucas in season 8 when the writing did not support that coming was so jarring! Then it seemed like they forced kissing scene after kissing scene to try and “prove” they belonged together. It was so strange. As much as I truly love L as a character I think given the mess of season 8 and 9 this new showrunner has done a fabulous job finding the characters again, honoring previous seasons, and bringing a groundedness back to the town and storytelling. I feel for Team Lucas because you all were very supportive through it all. But I do think the show is in better hands now and trust her to unfold the next seasons events with respect.
The writers keep messing with the fans with the ups and downs between Lucas, Elizabeth and Nathan.
I could imagine what the story maybe like when Jack shows back up to the set lol.. I know he won't because he said he won't be coming back. But what kind of story would be there should he return to Hope Valley #Superchannel #Canada
@@kitakitsinc A ghost story.
Yes and her relationships with her students. I'm still done with her.
In the beginning she seemed to be a woman of substance. Now she's insufferable!
I don't know why she and Nathan weren't just put together from the beginning. It's ridiculous they built this love story with Lucas, then dropped it right before their wedding. What a waste of time.
@@miriamdevries7627 Agreed. No matter which way it goes, they’ve milked the love triangle for way too long.
Finally. They are going to fix the mess. I'm glad that I can start watching again 🎉
There was no mess to fix . Elizabeth and Lucas were truly the best. Season 10 is the real mess. Worst season of the show.

I feel that Elizabeth ended up being flakey… it was okay when she was pulled into between nathan and lucas but once she chose lucas how do you hurt him again.
exactly tired of these wishy washy women on hallmark.
Hopefully the writer will reconsider to put them back together, Lucas and Elizabeth are well suited for one another
I thinks she's flakey.. and I am not watching the show anymore.
Yes Sharon so long to realize she made a mistake .
So poorly written & not believable
It’s funny how upset people get about a fictional story.
I think its because we watch When Calls the Heart for the feel good story, and the fictoinal people that we love. But what happened was that it felt all too real watching Lucas and Elizabeth break up. It was so real and heavy to watch. All we want when we watch the show is an escape from the real world.
I’m so thrilled at the possibility of Elizabeth and Nathan!! Perfect for each other!! ❤
Me too, but I’m so tired of this back and forth! It’s been 5 years for heavens sake…
Yes. How long will it take for Elizabeth and Nathan to work out. If they even do. I'm nervous to get my hopes up about those two. Maybe I should not?
I don't know what you guys see .. Nathan and Elizabeth are not good together. He's too boring and no personality. Jack is always full of surprises, I believe Lucas will be a perfect fit for Elizabeth
Boring? he is always on adventures to protect the town. He is much deeper than he seems. No need to have a castle in the mountains like Luca's ambition to show dynamics @@orchids1555
Elizabeth needs to be single for a good length of time to redeem her character
So she strung Lucas along when she always wanted Nathan. That is such appalling behaviour. 🤦♀️

That's because they know she isn't coming back yo Hallmark
I have so much hope for Nathan and Elizabeth.
So hopeful for Elizabeth to be with mountie Nathan!! YES!
Its a yes for me too
I can't wait to watch Elizabeth and Nathan fall in love in Season 11!
Oh yeahhhhhhh
After waiting ten seasons to see the beautiful story of a "Teacher and a Mountie," (based on a Janette Oke book,)I am thrilled to know it will be on our screens soon! ...Patience is indeed a virtue! Kudos to the writers!
that story was already played out. her mountie was Jack. not this boring version of Nathan
Which means it about to get boring....
I think it was a perfect end because everyone knew she loved, loves Nathan! Fear is why she did that to Nathan and chose Lucas.

@@susivarga7303 to me it’s a show. There is more to wcth than Elizabeth. I like all the characters,
I agree with Erin. Look forward to what happens to Elizabeth , Nathan, Allie, and little Jack. Nice to see what they did for Ben Rosenbaum. Very funny as Mike.😊
And what ?? forget about Lucas who did so much to save the town.
Season 10 Glows:
-The History.
(I'm not saying there wasn't development in 8-9, but I can specifically recall moments this season that opened us up to the characters themselves, but not as much from 8-9.)
-Friendship. This season was packed with community and friendships that were wonderfully simple and supportive.
-There are absolutely other, more specific glows, but these are the umbrella of what I enjoyed!
Now onto the Nathan, Elizabeth, and Lucas situation.
How it was handled in the writing:
-Thank you for dropping hints throughout the season about how Lucas and Elizabeth’s paths were diverging.
I appreciate your explanation! It makes me very excited for the next season.

@@chelseakkong the Nathan fans comdemn Lucas for being saloon owner but approve Nathan who is always at the saloon drinking....
Loved the finale I hope next year their is romance for Nathan and Elizabeth. I hope Abigail comes back to Henry. 4:13

Perfect ending! Elizabeth’s talk with Jack about Lucas and choosing something safe was so real! The future is bright for Hope Valley!
Oh wait a minute...that's exactly what she did.

ot the occupation.
I know a lot of folks want the teacher mountie connection but the novel is based on another Elizabeth thatcher who is this Elizabeths aunt on william thatchers side.
I don’t anymore either.
I completely disagree with you
@@chelseakkong a lot of these comments are from people who never watched season 8 and 9 !!!
How can there be chemistry, but most of all, how did they fall 'IN LOVE' with each other when they hardly ever spend time together, much less, quality time together? No, they wanted to change the storyline from Elizabeth & Lucas to Elizabeth & Nathan, hopefully to secure more Seasons. Anyway, the changes just don't make sense. Who is Elizabeth going to go to next if her & Nathan don't work out? If in 2+ years she realizes that she HASN'T found Jack in Nathan 😢, what then????
Lucas was mistreated by Elizabeth and he deserved so, so much better. Elizabeth’s character feels so utterly assassinated now.
I know it’s just a show oh but E looks bad in the eyes of so many fans .I don’t see her the same way any more.
Lucas wants the world --he found his true call: politics and changes - -this reasonates with his role
@@skpn123 This!! Well said, well said!!
Horrible season! Done with the show. They deceived the viewers and I feel no loyalty to the show anymore.
This is just my thoughts. You said everything so well!!
Beautifully said
So well said. Everyone in hope valley even the children think Lucas is the villain, well in reality we know who is
E doesn’t even bother to explain to the children that she was the one who told Lucas to run for the elections.
Well said
For those of you who understand "love language" it is easier to understand that E and L did not communicate in terms of how they shared their love for each other.
This actress is good when it comes to the social scenes but when it comes to love scenes she is so dry....
I THINK I WILL PASS ON THIS NEVERENDING SHOW.
you obviously are on Team Nathan 😆
@@MargaretHarris-p4o They got the safe choice line from the nathan fans.

We are so very grateful to you Erin, and all of the people that make When Calls the Heart a reality for us! May God bless all of you! We are so very excited for Season 11 !!! In the meantime, we have all of the seasons on DVD, and will keep it alive!
Bruh! Are you for real? DVD??????????
In real life, if more people were honest with themselves and each other, fewer heartbreaks would happen. This was the right decision, within the story. Team Nathan, lol!
This new storyline has no credibility just like Elizabeth.

Hoping for Nathan and Elizabeth 🙏❤️
Getting so tired of ALL of Elizabeth’s drama! It’s getting old.
I agree
I can’t wait for season 11. Season 10 was great!
It is not the sweet pure love we looked forward to watching in this show.
Situations changed with them both. So they had to do some soul searching. They both knew it wasn't working.

Love Love LOVE this story line. Sooooooo looking forward to season 11. (it can't come fast enough). Go team Nathan and Elizabeth!!!! 😊❤
Team Nathan? Are we all back in the seventh grade?
So hope not!! 🙏
Well season 10 ratings tanked. It will only get worse at this point...
I gotta go back and enjoy Seasons 6-8. Yay for Nathan and Elizabeth!!!! ❤❤❤❤
Same!!!!
Terrible writing. Done with this.
I love Elizabeth and Nathan. You can tell they are very much attracted to each other. I do like Lucas as well and hope he finds his true love.
Great interview! Thanks.
I'm so thrilled! Elizabeth and Nathan! 🥰 They are such a joy to see together! ❤️🔥 Can't wait!

I can't believe we might FINALLY get our Nathan and Elizabeth love story! I've been waiting since season 6. ❤

Come on....
Totally agree with you
Her interview was so different than Chris’.

What a poorly written story that made no sense. This is not what WCTH is.
Again Lucas made her realizes who she really is which is a Teacher and someone who loves the community of hopefully
You're right, you don't know what love is if you think she had it for Lucas, the fraud.
Truly disappointing makes me not to watch season 11. Elizabeth really used Lucas and led him to believe she wanted to spend the rest of her life with him. I’m sure Little Jack is going to miss Luca. You really did gaslight the fans.
They gaslight fans in s8 finale, this s10 story is lovely
Totally agree with you
Horrible just horrible....
@@sharonnorton2708It’s utterly ridiculous.
@@Shannon-wg4ff AGREE!!
The serie revamps real life feelings... she lost her husband... and takes years to heal, and nobody wants to loose a close one again.
Dangggggg, but you are right, but its ok bro we want Nathan and Elizabeth
So given what you said, how long will it be before she changes her mind again? I've known a number of widows in real life and none of them did the flip flopping Elizabeth did. I think this has more to do with keeping the ratings up than reflectng real life. @@cristianateixeirasantos4417
Has anyone noticed thst the words 'Be Safe' has been useed so many times? Lizbeth said that finally to Nathan in 10. It's their way of telling eachother how much they care
Yes, I did notice that. She has always told him to "be safe". He returned this phrase when he confronted her in the school house. "What do you want."
that's what friends do... nothing unusual here
Loool, fans were devastated when Jack died, some fans were devaststed when she chose Lucas and now some fans are devastated they are broken up.
Say it loud: Elizabeth and Nathan are the real thing ❤❤
Erin, you are so beautiful in your curls! I haven't even clicked yet to see what you have to say; but, I just wanted to mention that.
Awwwww that’s nice
Lucas deserves better!!!! He again sacrificed for her and the town
he has other priorities as well -- Hope valley was too small for his dreams
Amen bro! Good job for defending her @@cristianateixeirasantos4417
I might start watching again now that she is not going to marry Lucas.
Nathan does not make a good couple with Elizabeth. Lucas was so perfect for her, so much that he was willing to save Hope Valley. What a huge mistake to take Lucas out of her life.
Absolutely shambles. RETCON!!!! From on screen to offscreen!!!
So weird.
I trusted Erin, but now I don't.
Why honey??????? Tell me….why?
agree
I am so happy to be getting off the “ride.” What a disappointing season. This fan is done.
Yay!!!!!❤❤❤❤❤ can’t wait for the next season :)
But I do think the show is in better hands now and trust her to unfold the next seasons events with respect.
when did you fall of the turnip truck
