Hi, I just wanna let you know and everyone be careful with the peanut butter that you choose some contain xylitol which is toxic to dogs. My dog went into renal failure and died because someone shared their peanut butter which contained that toxic ingredient, look at the ingredients. Thank you for sharing this recipe.
I used to make all of my dog treats for my dogs but I lost my last dog in 2017 and since then have not been able to replace her . She was on a grain free dog food cos my dog had allergies to corn . So I made her treats .I'm allergic to peanuts , so when I made her treats I subbed in Sun-butter ..she still loved them .
Ran out of dog treats and didn't feel like going to the store so I made these (without the glaze). I only had canned yams so I smashed them up and used that with AP flour. I doubled the yams to 2/3 cup and I baked for 20 minutes. Ended up with 71 treats and my dog LOVES them! Next time I'm going to make oat flour in the blender and use that b/c it's healthier than AP. THANK YOU for posting this great, natural treat recipe for dogs! A+++++++++++++
This looks like a great treat recipe, the only thing I'd be careful with is using turmeric as it can act as a natural laxative for dogs with sensitive tummies, even in the smallest amounts. I have learned this the hard way.
That could be a sign of an allergic reaction for your dog. Turmeric is safe for most dogs in small amounts but some are sensitive to it. Cinnamon can carry the same caution. My dog has tummy upset if she gets it so I will omit both spices.
Best to introduce gradually any thing that may have a ingredient that may be something that may upset your dogs belly, like almond flour. I also read that white, bleached white and quinoa flour is best avoided, but if your not sure about something best to consult your vet who knows your dog and more than we do lol, it's great to see so many other dog parents who want to feed their babies good food and treats and even make it themselves! Because yes it helps save money but I know my babies love them more because they are made by me, and that love that goes into each recipe is their favorite ingredient! " also making recipes in the air fryer for them is a healthy way to also save $ because they not only cook/bake faster in there but it's just air and I am in love with who ever invented the air fryer, makes my busy life so much better. ❤
Thank you very much, one of my dogs has no teeth 😭 we adopted her she was neglected and the vet had to removed her teeth 😔 I’m making this for her 🥹 thank you 😊
Iam making these for happy boy the chiwawah he liked the other pumpkin one I made mom said it her doggy I like the anti-inflammatory spice I dont know all dogs can or can't eat your encouraging me to use turmerrick thanks Dani
I love bloopers and totally understand! We just recorded our church announcement video... 😳 It's supposed to play today... We're so glad we're online today! 😬
My dog loves them. She isn’t as big as Charlie so I used a piping bag and then cut them into bite size pieces for my terrier. She was waiting for them to come out of the oven.
i can't wait to try this for my shihtzus, their birthday is coming up and well, they will take any excuse to get good treats! LOL thank you for sharing! although I'm hoping i can find almond flour locally.
Thank you for watching my video and I'm glad to hear that you are interested in trying out the recipe for your shihtzus' upcoming birthday! Almond flour can usually be found at health food stores, specialty grocery stores, or online. I hope you are able to find it locally, but if not, online shopping could be an option. I hope your dogs enjoy the treats and have a wonderful birthday celebration!
🦴 🐶 🦴 I took a leap of faith that I could make these into dog bones with a cookie cutter and they turned out so good that way!! It was so easy to do! This recipe is awesome!!! I have a batch in the oven right now and I can smell the cinnamon-pumpkin-peanut butter flavor and it is just delightful, I might have to try one lol. Thank you for an amazing recipe 🤗 💖
Can't wait to make these treats for Jack and Pup pup!. Looks easy, And Charlie really seems to love them. Thanks for sharing 💞 Watching from Eastern North Carolina ❤
This looks like a good treat. Most recipes I've tried are too hard for my small dog. The Teddy Peanut butter is very good. Be sure the one you use is also free of xylitol, an artificial sweetener toxic to dogs.
Hi Dani, I love your recipes for people, so I'm excited to try one for my puppers. Can you please tell me how I would substitute oat flour for the almond flour in your recipe? Thank you.
Hi, I tried your recipe and they came really well and it's super easy to do, just a question how long they keep good stored in a container for biscuits? Since our dog is on diet and we give him only one treat per day, Thank you😊
Hi there just wanted to run it by u that I got a little confused when I watched your video then I looked at your ingredients from below then I didn’t see any almond flour in your ingredients. So just letting u know I think u forgot to put almond flour in the list of ingredients lol but looks so yummy for me to eat cause I do something similar but I use almond butter and one more thing what kind of dog is he.? He looks like my Luna - she’s a labradoodle! But he’s adorable! Happy Birthday Charlie! 🎈
Thank you, Michelle! I just corrected that. I appreciate you taking the time to let me know. Charlie was a rescue (We got so lucky!) so we're not sure what type of dog he is - although we have a hunch he may be some type of Wheaton mix.
I've made this for my dogs before. I just didn't add the tumeric. I thought tumeric needed pepper to activate it? I made this at Christmas and handed it out as Christmas presents for the other dogs in my life. It was a big hit, too. I just didn't make the glaze. 🙂
Can you switch the coconut oil in the glaze for water or something else. I am baker with a coconut allergy and so much as coming in contact with something with coconut oil can make me itch. Can water be a good sub or something else be a good sub?
Not to my knowledge- my research shows that almonds can be a nutritious addition when eaten in moderation. BUT always be sure to check your vet to know whats best for your doggie!
almonds are bad for dogs, I dunno what you are doing.. "Gastrointestinal distress: Dogs can't properly digest almonds. While consuming one or two might not cause any issues, too many can lead to vomiting, diarrhea, gas, lethargy and appetite loss. Pancreatitis: Almonds are high in fat content."
I've been doing research and it's better to use Oat flour for dogs, and an all Natural peanut butter with no sugar, no salt, no other additives. Make sure not to buy any brand peanut butter. Xylitol is very deadly for dogs. Please read the label on everything you buy especially for your pups and dogs.
I once made homemade dog treats for my late dog. She was a very greedy girl and would eat anything but she wouldn't eat the treats I made her lol. I now have a very fussy boy who is a very fussy eater. I think I would be wasting my time making homemade for him too unfortunately lol.

This one is for all of our furry friends! I hope your pup loves them as much as Charlie does. XO - Dani
Don't give them to dogs.
Many children are hungry and malnourished in Africa and Asia
When I make homemade treats I use whole oats that I blend and it makes a great flour
Great idea!
Less expensive too
and almonds can hurt your dog
Is that the oats from oatmeal?
I was thinking coconut flour my self.

Thanks for the recipe! Definitely be sure to use pure peanut butter. Some of the brands contain other ingredients that may be harmful to pets. 💖🐾🐾

Thank you.
Thank you! I’ll be making these. My dog Charli girl will love these
Yay! Enjoy, Charli!
Great recipe. I'll be making these. FYI, Turmeric must have black pepper to activate it.
This looks amazing. Had no idea that dogs can eat peanut butter. I will make these for our entire family 🐯🐶🐻. Thanks for sharing.👏
Most dogs LOVE peanut butter!
Just make sure it's natural PB with no sweeteners.

What a fun idea! What a thoughtful gift idea.
will these treats last long ? also do they have to be refrigerated once made ?
Is turmeric good for any dog, small ones?

I don’t have a dog but this is soo cute
This ok for puppies
Wow 😯

Can you use oat flour?
Sorry I seem to have missed what temperature the oven should be at?
What brand of peanut butter do you use for the dog treat? I’m not seein it.
Can I use another flour replace the almond flour ?
What can be used instead of turmeric since I don’t have any?
❤
Can I use great value (Walmart brand) peanut butter? I looked at ingredients and it does not have xylitol in it
My dog is 13 and his teeth aren't in very good shape. These will be perfect for him!🐶
Yes! These will be great as they are not super crunchy.
Dani can I use coconut flour?
I would imagine you would need to adjust other ingredients for coconut flour to work as coconut flour is super absorbent (more so than other flours).
I do this recipe, but instead of adding pumpkin purée, I always do applesauce
Could you do yogurt as a glaze?
Can I use regular flour

Why turmeric
How many calories per treat? Thanks.
My grandpa hates me so I made these cookies for him and nothing changed.
How many cup of almond flour? I don’t see in the recipe.
1 and 1/4 cup - I just fixed that!
What kind of P.B is your favorite ?

Have you seen the price of almond flour lately? A two- cup bag of it costs$10!
You can sub with wheat flour if you prefer.
Or hempp flour
I made this but forgot the drizzle because I didn’t look at the video all the way 😭 5:14
