You can do this without taking the wheel off buy using a trim removal tool, it won't damage the wheels. Its a bit tough at the start but when you figure out the trick, by squeezing the tool down the small opening at the top edges of the plastic.
Car looks great. Definitely an improvement over my 2018 Model 3 Performance. My car came with a center cap removal tool in the glovebox. Tool goes into small hole near center of cap then pull off. Maybe you have one too?
Thanks for the video, wheels look much better without those covers, just seems like a lot of effort to remove. Mine (black interior and exterior) arrives next week and I can’t wait.
@@Skeetskeet333 tesla should have left it in the box in a ziploc bag its a tool to remove the center covers without damage or effort. I can take a pic of mine and show it to you ...should be in the car
Thanks for the tutorial. It is a good example that these covers are really on there, and the grab and pull from anywhere method may lead to broken plastic parts. Car looks great btw. 👍
Hey dude. Can you put the smaller pieces back on if you remove them?(The ones blocking the small circle holes). I ask because one of mine isn't sitting flush and is loose and won't go back in place by pushing from the outside....so need to see what's wrong with it
Thanks for showing a detailed video of this. My date keeps pushing but right now end of July. Originally first of of June for Gray/Black. I hope it will be sooner I ordered on 4/23. I am definitely going to take mine off too. I just wish the smaller covers would come off with clips too. I plan to leave mine on like you did so those two holes aren't visible. It's been long stated that the LR models saw approximately 5% range loss. To my knowledge nobody has run tests on the M3P yet. They are too difficult to remove and install quickly compared to the aero covers on my last LR. So I will not be doing a before and after study
