  • This Kalanchoe beharensis is the tree version, and its leaves grow huge and dense. I prune it every once in a while to stop the leaves squishing each other, allow light and air through, and hopefully prevent the tendency of flopping over.
    Thank you for watching!

Yes, it's so fuzzy I can't resist touching whenever I walk past. A very well-behaved plant too; it doesn't drop leaves everywhere or make pups popping up all over. Just stays in its space and grows tall and strong.

Hi Toowoomba gardener; good job in pruning this succulent I have one of this succulent in my garden and it's still sulking from the last winter's frost bite. It's only 2 feet tall and the trunk is a big toe in diameter. I don't think it likes it here in Richmond, NSW.

I don't see this Kalanchoe much in gardens, so thank you for telling me about yours. I recall one Laura Eubanks garden where a huge one was leaning over, then later a big branch snapped off under its own weight. I'm hoping to avoid that with mine. I suppose I'm just happy it requires nothing more than an occasional prune, and in return gives me giant fuzzy leaves. Do you find that spiders like living in its leaves more than other succulents?

It does look a bit strange now, but it'll grow new leaves and look better in a few months.
