ABOUT BROOKLYN NINE-NINE
"Brooklyn Nine-Nine" follows the exploits of hilarious Det. Jake Peralta (Andy Samberg) and his stoically ever-professional captain, Raymond Holt (Andre Braugher), along with their diverse, lovable colleagues as they police the NYPD's 99th Precinct. In this final season of the series, Jake and the squad must try to balance their personal lives and their professional lives over the course of a very difficult year.
Rounding out the ensemble is Sgt. Amy Santiago (Melissa Fumera), who has a passion for organization and a weakness for dork dancing; Lt. Terry Jeffords (Terry Crews), a mountain of a man whose most powerful muscle is his sweetheart; Jake's best friend and human puppy dog, Det. Charles Boyle (Joe Lo Truglio); and the incredibly secretive, tough-as-nails Rosa Diaz (Stephanie Beatriz). Also part of the Nine-Nine are veteran officers Det. Scully (Joel McKinnon Miller) and Det. Hitchcock (Dirk Blocker), whose only skill as police officers is their ability to make a passable pot of coffee.
Created by Emmy Award-winning writer/producers Dan Goor and Michael Schur, "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" won the 2014 Golden Globe Awards for Best Television Series - Comedy or Musical and Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series - Comedy or Musical (Samberg). Emmy winner Braugher earned four Emmy nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for his role as Capt. Holt.

I just realised for #4,
Holt uses his tell (contraction)
He says, "I don't have you Peralta" which is a lie and hence the don't.
Great foreshadowing by writers
Woah! Nice catch
Well done mate!😂👍🏻
Explain for my small brain pls😊
@@cartekarute2666 dont is a contraction of do not, and contracting words is one of holts' tells that he's lying
@@leandraleo281 i see, I think I get it
Very disappointed the Holt-hula-hoop-"no one will ever believe you" cold open didn't make a top one. Totes my fave.
I second that. Totally expected it to be nr.1
Third!
The Oopsy-doodle 😆
Let’s be honest we all knew what the #1 spot was gonna be 😂
Definitely! It always will be. An absolute classic, and I still laugh every time!😂👍🏻
One of my favorite scenes in any show
I mean it's the most iconic hahaha
I thought the same thing 😂😂
We all wanted it that way!
You can reupload all of these cold opens a million of times, we'd still watch them. Still laugh out loud funny after all this time
What does reuoload mean??????😊😊😊😊
Very true.
Yes 💯
@@bakhithajoseph5999 upload again, like in different vids.
Absolutely!!
The Backstreet Boys bit alone puts this show in the running for greatest sitcom of all time.
Yep, the others are great, but it's still the obvious #1 intro because it is just that good.
Never gets old and I don’t even like the Backstreet Boys.😂 Having Jake say “ Oh my God! I forgot about that part.” Always makes my day.😂
Facts!
What I always love about the Oldest Person Bag is that Charles managed to disgust even Scully, which I didn't think was even possible!
The worse thing would be if Hitchcock was disgusted by this which we all know Hitchcock's weird pervert play boy old story
If hitchcock had been there and disgusted ....
Scully has a high tolerance because he spends so much time with Hitchcock. Takes a lot to gross him out.
I will always stand by the cold opening of the squad talking about the oldest person they arrested but Charles thought they were on about something else 😂
*Main reason i love it is because they keep Andy Sambergs real laugh which is a great treasure*
The most underrated part of this cold open for me is that Charles thought Scully had hooked up with 50 year old twins and completely took that in stride 😂😂
@@KoiToiPersonal I mean it’s Hitchcock
They almost broke character.
@@KoiToiPersonal but it was Scully who told about the arrest
To this day I fully believe that after Andy Samberg's "that's someone's grandma" line Joe Lo Truglio saw a chance for improv and instantly took it. Every single one of them almost broke character so I fully believe the script had him saying something else so no one expected it and it took all of their willpower to try and stay in character.
I love the podium prank "You're crazy! How did you pull this off?" That line goes through my head daily.
I also love the one when Holt comes in with red hat on, looking like a Paddington bear 😂 “I tried something and it didn ´t work!” 😆
The full bullpen is honestly my personal top 1, it's just so good and Holt's reaction was so unexpected the first time and so wholesome the rest of times I've seen it.
I love everyone’s faces when the elevator opens up in #9 and they think this is going to end horribly wrong.😂😂😂
Also, the camera zooming in on Jake and Charles’s faces during the Diane Wiest joke really put it over the top.😂😂😂
I never understood the Diane Wiest one ...
@@borskavin6395 Boyle’s making a pun that he got a Diane Wiest infection instead of a yeast infection, so Jake’s face is essentially saying, “Did you really just say that?” while Boyle’s just so proud of his bad joke.😅
@@globbyakaweirdjellyguy954 aaaaaaaahh
my favorite will always be moving Holt’s podium. his pure joy at the prank is so wholesome and it’s the most emotion he’s ever shown
“I want it that way” is probably the funniest opening in the history of television. Can’t think of a “single way” to argue against it.
I'm a little surprised we aren't making a bigger deal about #7. it was the first time Holt broke through "mildly pleased" into true exuberance and it was a huge shock.
In hindsight it makes full sense because of his gambling addiction.
Still can't get over how the entire bullpen cold open was a conversation of only words that start with B. It's amazing
„Show your father some respect!“ by Terry is one of the best deliveries ever
Top 2 is well deserved. I can't say the same thing for the 3 spot i think Hitchcock drank his own goldfish should be up there
Yes!
Yeah that one is definitely missing
“Wait, where are my eggs?”
“In my belly!” 😂😂😂
Number one is flawless and will forever reign as champion of cold opens. 🎊
I feel like in so many of this the laughs are legit. Like, actors laughibg ala andy with Boyle talking about the grandma
#8 Is just so underrated. It's so simple yet always makes me laugh! Also perfect cut after Boyle giddy with excitement yells "Like yeast"
6:47 you'll never unsee this: Rosa is smiling ☺
I just noticed that in #3, the Boyle Bingo open, Charles brings in a holder with 2 cups of coffee, and Rosa automatically grabs one to give to Gina.
And it has Rosa's name on it. He brings Rosa coffee, and she gives it away. He has two coffees in the oldest bag one too.
Absolutely Andy laughing and accidentally calling Charles Joe is my favorite #1 cold open.
"LIKE YEAST!!" such an underrated cold open.
Longest silence in cinema history (according to the official podcast)
Still makes me laugh when you see Rosa crack a smile after Holt says, "I want to play" while they're guessing why Amy's late.
My favourite has to still be the one where ants invade the office. Holt's "Yes. We've won." gets me every time
My favourite still is hitchcock drinking his own fish. That moment had me laughing for 5 minutes straight
mr. Gobble and his deeply tragic news will forever be my favorite cold open of all times
I like how jake called captain holt thanks dad instead of thanks man 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
alright, I was lying about the holdup. but the dad thing, that happened!
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
if i want it that way wasnt a cold open, oldest arrest would be the absolute best. you can tell that their reactions arent just acting and its so wholesome.
Scully taking a victory sip from his thumbtack mug. 😂 Love Joel McKinnon Miller.
I think I have rewatched this show so many times I know it word for word but still watch every upload and love it as the first time watching the scenes
10:43 I can’t get enough of Rosa’s S1 voice 😂
No ‘Hula Hooping’ or ‘Captain Holt Break Dance’? Sad.
YOU’RE CRAZY!!! HOW DID YOU PULL THIS OFF???
I love how the cop at 1:33 looks SO CONCERNED about charles
I never noticed that before
Gina saying “do you have herpes?” Is one of my favorite lines ever.
I never noticed Rosa smiling in the background when Charles is in the Tommy Gobbler costume 😂
12# is my favorite they don’t even care how captain hilt got into their house lol
Happy to see 2/3 favorite Charles openings made the list.
But the Ms. Pacman nipple will always be my favorite
I just knew that I Want it That Way would be in this video. It's by far my favorite of all the Cold Openings
Just in case you make another one... Season 4 Ep 3 I believe it is? It starts out with the Coral Palms news and ends with my personal favorite line in the show "What if you were going through a drive-through and a puppy dog took your order?"
We all knew what #1 would be but we watched them all anyways to see and knew we wouldn’t be disappointed
It was #1 that brought me to watch this show. Loved every second of it.
Nine Nine ✊🏻😂
The way I yelled "Yes!!!!!" when I saw #1 😂
Dianne Wiest infection breaks me every time XD
Cackling 😂
Halloween's cold open where holt appears out of nowhere in peraltiago apartment are the best 😭
When u watch the show on repeat, u get used to the sirens after each cold open. And not hearing them makes it weird 😂😂
#1 was the reason I started watching the show. Loved every moment. Great show!
holt's laugh is so wholesome
And the ending is just too much! Hahahha makes me wanna watch this clip all over again! 😂😂
I love #8 because I've genuinely had conversations like that, both as Jake and Boyle
When you showed Number 5 you should have included the part after the credits when Holt calls Kevin and tells him about the podium prank it's very hilarious
Also I have to say early season openings are probably my favourite, the early seasons were the best and funniest seasons of Brooklyn 99
I think #12 is my most favorite but these are all sooooo good
1 of the best shows of all time,i wish this show never ended,it was SOOOO good
3:11 Anyone else notice how the door closes itself?
I love this show in general so much, but the cold opens are my favourite part.
“Why did you wake me up?! I told you never to wake me up!!!”
the woman from the "I want it that way" cold open, acts great!
For the record, my personal favourite is “THE FULL BULLPEN!” but as for naming ones that didn’t make this list, the mason jar incident and Holt’s vacation high are good ones for me.
Literally came here for #1 and knew it'd be #1 but watched the rest anyway
Could not stop laughing at these clips! Thanks for uploading!
My personal favorite is the soup pants one
It is a crime that the “Wuntch Time Is Over” cold open isn’t on here
I would not have been able to follow the instructions to sing in number 1 because I have never heard that song all of the way through.
The podium move does it for me 😂😂😂😂😂 so silly and so hilarious! 😅😅
Was probably more exciting guessing what #2 would be 😂
exactly zero people were surprised at number one i love this show omfg
#2 and #4 is definitely well deserved!
the babushka is the best
I like the one where Amy leaves a surprise present for Holt on his desk and he thinks it's a bomb.
Andy laughing "joe" @ 12:01
One of the funniest thing for me is 14
Holt is just in the corner sitting waiting for them to wake up haha
BABUUUUSKKAAAAA!!!!!
Literal chills indeed.
I watched 12 minutes to see the open I knew was coming. Then watched it three times. No regrets
*Boyle says BOOM*
So many lines from this show i know by heart like the number one cold open 12:57
Surprised to not see the one where captain holt shows pictures of him hoola hooping to Peralta then deletes them 😂
My favourite is when Hitchcock and Scully have identical jars one with gold fish and another with lemonade.
#13 always cracks me up, no matter how many times I see it 😂
Boyles weast infection really got me... Hilarious
my theatre company put on a show where we had some of our favourite scenes from tv or movies. Obviously #1 was the scene the audience liked the most!
3:42 the moment he humbled himself 😂
7:02 that open button on Amy’s shirt just tells me that the bank story was a lie and that Jake was right
6:45 I love how they left in Rosa breaking lmao
I miss this show so much.
Honorable mentions
Holt and Jake screaming about Jake accompanying Hitchcock to a trial
The squad getting Kevin out of the university premises through different ways and means
Holt learning different handshakes for everybody including the "copy guy" to break Jake
Let us all celebrate the genius of B99 cold open
CAPTAIN HOLT WITH THE RED HAT. TIMELESS
The number 1 is the reason i started watching B 99 in the first place
Anyone else try to not laugh at the Diane weast infection joke like Jake and fail spectacularly? 😂
5:50 Sweet that's all I needed to know. The community has taste.
LIKE YEAST
#1 Even a small role the lady portraid it very nicely
Come on guys, young Scully and Hitchcock busting that drug lord should be on this list!
Show anyone who isn't watching already, the Tell Me Why cold open, and they'll agree to watch Brooklyn Nine-Nine.
"do ya have herpes?" is the single greatest thing in this video.
The std is actually low key genius.
Lets be honest we all knew to which cold open the #1 spot belonged to 😂😂😂
Something that no one ever talks about in #2 is that Charles heard what Scully said and assumed that was what they were talking about 😳
