    I fly the Aerosoft A320 FSX and this video and the 'cold and dark' video helps a lot. I know they are not 100% realistic but good enough for a flight simulator for non-pilots.

    This is an awesome work. I appreciate the effort. Keep it up. I like how everything seemed so realistic and relatable. I would like to see something that shows the checklist on the side of the screen with highlighting the items respectively to follow along. Once you Pilots have out done yourselves!

    Hello BAA,
    I think you should invest more in pilot's training prior to these videos. I was impressed to see the CPT asking for Flaps 1 above Flaps 1 speed (until here, ok, might happen), but then, seeing Oleg not sure if he should put Flaps 1 or not, even above Flaps 1 speed just because the CPT asked so... It is not good at all.
    Other thing I think you should improve are the division of the tasks in the cockpit. It's common to see both Martynas and Oleg trying to do the same thing in spite of doing the tasks assigned to their position. What I see here is two PNF and one PF in stead of one PF and one PNF.
    I think other people that might see your videos wont be pleased to use a simulator like that used like this.
    Bernardo

      I never saw your comment on my first watch through but if you listen to the ATC (4:05) rather than reading the text she did read 082 @10 knots rather than 240 as shown. Whoever added that text must not have payed too much attention.

    @Mert. Yes it is as the autopilot will still try to track the Localizor when the pilot may wish to steer off the runway.

      They are also used in ILS approaches for auto land where you have bad weather and can’t see the runway for a visual approach.

    Can I ask, why is the APU switched OFF in-flight and switched ON at landing?

    • @beat.1688
      @beat.1688 7 лет назад +5

      Ivan Rutkevich In flight APU is not required cause plane recieves electricity from engines, after landing APU is switched to on cause in gate plane can't get electricity from engines cause they are off.

    I have a question.
    Why do you set the fuel pumps to off, when the apu is still running? How is it possible?
    I'm from Germany so excuse my mistakes ;)

    • @Firecul
      @Firecul 10 лет назад

      Some aircraft I think have a separate pump driven while the APU is on. For the rest usually a single pump is left on for this purpose, generally pump 2 on the left wing as it is easier to service and replace after the extra wear.

    can you please make a FAQ about the Top of Descend ? I mean in my simulator the a320 descends in managed mode with 1000ft/min VS but the autopilot calculates the height for every waypoint... i think i make something wrong ...

    • @Firecul
      @Firecul 7 лет назад

      If you have set a height for each waypoint it will try to hit each restriction one at a time. If you are flying alone you can set eg "/6000A" for above 6000 so it won't go below that but it will allow a smoother descent in cases where that can be appropriately used. Otherwise maybe deleting specific altitude restrictions can help to allow a more continuous descent.

    Why did cpt disengaged the autopilot at landing? Wasn't this an ils landing? And is this normal procedure for pilots ?

    • @Siatkowkarzadzi
      @Siatkowkarzadzi 8 лет назад +4

      Yes it is ILS landing but it has nothing to do with who's flying an airplane. During an ILS approach you follow instruments, especially flight director. But I agree on this video AP was disengaged early, usually you let the AP stabilise on localizer and glide slope. Then you land the aircraft visually (but the instruments are still very useful) and manually unless you perform the auto-land (e.g. if weather conditions are very very bad, provided the plane and runway are equipped with systems capable of handling ILS cat. III and auto-land).

    Arriving on a narrowbody in Frankfurt, dump passengers on position V125, and let them take the bus to the terminal. THAT's a whole new level of realism. (For some reason most of my real-world flights to FRA end on position V125, so this one made me laugh.)

  • @hedonist2006
    @hedonist2006 10 лет назад

    When the tower tells the pilot to change to 118.77 his readback is 119.77. That could be a serious mistake in real life.

    • @hedonist2006
      @hedonist2006 9 лет назад +1

      Cian Broderick This is a simulation. Has nothing to do with checking the frequency first. The copilot didn't give a correct read back. That was just 1 second after tower was done speaking. He also totally screwed up the read back on the 3 taxiways they were to follow. Dropped some letters and numbers, and just blew through it as fast as he could. It's like this kid was amped up on speed or a dozen coffees. Very unprofessional.

    Nice video, Being a PILOT was my ambition,But unfortunately ....😢. But I am now flying online flight simulators [Airbus 319,320,321 ,Boeing 737,747,777]. Now I have an ambition ,that I would like to fly in a real simulator, Is it possible ...?? I don't Know. Hope at least someone could help me.
    Any way keep encouraging us with different simulators.Good Day

    when you take off, when do you have to put the throttle levers in climb?

    • @Firecul

      Varies per airport for the thrust reduction altitude, I believe in an earlier video in this series they used 1500 feet on climb out.
