Air Disasters Compilation #11 - Besiege

UPS 6 was a scheduled cargo flight from Dubai, the United Arab Emirates to Cologne, Germany on September 3rd, 2010 operated by 2 crew members.
Crash:
The plane departed Dubai at 6:53 PM and headed northwest, at 7:15 PM the pilots received a fire warning on the forward main deck and decided to return to Dubai rather than divert to Doha, Qatar. The fire burnt through control cables and at 7:20 PM the Captains oxygen mask failed which forced him to get up and grab the emergency oxygen supply, he became incapacitated and died from smoke inhalation, the First Officer attempted to land at Dubai but he overshot the runway, he tried to divert to another airport but he turned in the opposite direction, the First Officer lost control and the plane crashed in a military base killing him instantly.
Investigation:
The plane was transporting improperly secured flammable Lithium-Ion batteries, many pallets caught fire, and the fire shear force burnt through the fire-resistant liner and burnt through the elevator control cables.
Cubana de Aviación Flight 1216 was a commercial passenger flight from Havana, Cuba to Guatemala City, Guatemala on December 21st, 1999 carrying 314 people.
Crash:
As the plane landed in Guatemala City the pilots realized that they weren't wasn't stopping, the pilots tried to slow down as much as possible but they couldn't stop the plane in time and it overran the runway and dropped off a steep hill into a residential area killing 16 people on board and 2 on the ground.
Investigation:
The plane had touched down too far along the runway, the runway was extremely wet and slippery and the pilots failed to deploy the spoilers and failed to make a go-around.
TAP Air Portugal 425 was a commercial passenger flight from Brussels, Belgium to Funchal, Portugal with a stopover in Lisbon, Portugal on November 19th, 1977 carrying 164 people.
Crash:
The plane made 2 missed approaches while attempting to land at Funchal, the plane made a 3rd and final attempt before they had to divert to Las Palmas, on the 3rd attempt the plane hovered over the runway before touching down, the pilots applied right and then left rudder but the plane overran the runway, struck a bridge, crashed onto a beach, and exploded while ripping into 4 pieces. 131 people died and 33 survived.
Investigation:
The pilots had violated procedure and had landed 20 knots overspeed 2,000 feet down the runway, the plane hydroplanes which rendered the brakes useless. The pilots should've diverted to Las Palmas but were under high pressure and this could've blinded the crew to the immediate danger of landing at Funchal.
Far Eastern Air Transport 103 was a commercial passenger flight from Taipei, Taiwan to Kaohsiung, Taiwan on August 22nd, 1981 carrying 110 people.
Crash:
14 minutes after taking off from Taipei the plane explosivley decompressed, the decompression ripped the plane apart into many pieces and it rained down on the town of Sanyi, all 110 people died.
Investigation:
The plane depressurized on August 5th and again a few hours before the flight, the aircraft was repaired both times but due to the excessive use and metal fatigue cracking in the fuselage that went undetected, the plane's structure failed.
Egypt Air 990 was a commercial passenger flight from Los Angeles, California to Cairo, Egypt with a stopover in New York City, New York on October 31st, 1999 carrying 217 people.
Crash:
30 minutes after taking off from New York City at 1:50 AM while the Captain was out of the cockpit the plane suddenly went into a nose dive going from 33,000 feet to 14,600 feet in 36 seconds, the Captain entered the cockpit and applied the speedbrakes putting the plane into a steep climb, the plane then went into a final dive from after reaching the hight of 18,000 feet, the plane reached a speed of mach 0.86 when the left engine seperated, pieces of the tail and wings broke off at around 10,000 feet, the plane plunged into the atlantic at 1:52 AM killing everyone on board
Investigation:
While the Captain was out of the cockpit the First Officer was heard saying "I put my trust in god" and other prayers, he disconnected the engines and put the plane in a steep dive, the Captain tried to save the plane but the First Officer pushed the nose down so far that both engines flamed out and saving the plane was impossible, it was ruled pilot suicied by Egypt Air disputes these claims saying it was a mechanical faliure in the elevators which caused the plane to nose dive.

except the way it crashed wasn't necessarily the way it crashed irl the plane didn't pitch down actively toward the ground before the crash, instead, it was staying level at a very low altitude, then the plane banked and the wing scraped the ground, causing the plane to crash

@@thesupremepebble3690 UPS 6 manual control cables were burnt, so they could not control the plane. F/O entered pretty high vertical speed, so they were still descending, since the vertical speed was high nose was pitching down a little bit,
they were also at very high speed and that moment they slammed in to ground. However, the plane did bank.
