You're assuming the higher-ups wanted all the first years dead, they were just collateral, they only wanted Yuji dead because of Sukuna, they wanted him dead earlier, but the only reason he wasn't executed yet is because of Gojo.

Yuji's life vs the hundreds Sukuna killed and how much he helped kenjaku advance his plans and get rid of Gojo which in turn is now risking the entirety of Japan (millions) and maybe even the entire world.
Now I wonder... should he have not been executed? I mean it seems pretty obvious in hindsight and might only be more and more so if the merger goes through.

Day 66 of recommending the opening and ending of "Spare Me Great Lord".
It's a chinese anime, so slightly different to the stuff you've reacted to so far, but it's got some of the vibest music and animation I've ever seen.
