That’s awesome! I think long sleeves with this would be beautiful. I can definitely try and design something and make a video, let me know if you’d like me to 😌🫶🏼
You will need to use a very light weight yarn, like a cotton thread type yarn to make the squares a lot smaller 😊 you can also use a different type of granny square that doesn’t need as many rounds so you can keep them rather small. I’m sure you will make a wonderful top for your niece! 🥰👏🏼
I used a 5mm hook and I was wondering why it came out so big, maybe use 7 squares? How wide is each of those squares? To bad I wanted to wear this it’s too large!!!!
Hi there! I’m so glad it came out beautifully but apologies for it being too big for you! Using thinner yarn, a smaller hook and omitting the last round around the squares would work to make it a lot smaller ❤️ Perhaps gift it to one of your friends? Now that you know how to make it you can make another one for yourself 🥰 thank you for letting me know. I appreciate that.
With the yarn weight and hook size I used, it is actually a little too big for me so I’d say this top is a 40 in size, like a medium or so. It’s best to take measurements and then divide it by 4 to know how big your squares need to be to fit 😊❤️ you can up a hook size or create more borders around the edge of the squares to make them larger! 🌸
I’m sorry to hear that! You might have one too many stitches on the previous row. Remember some chains don’t count as stitches. I really hope this helps! ❤️ good luck and let me know xx
The size of your squares will depend on the yarn and the hook size you use, you can make them perfect for you by dividing your bust size by 4 and that’s the length of one square. I am traveling at the moment so don’t have my top with me to give you my exact measurements but please do try one square and see if you need to change your hook size to make it smaller or bigger to fit you! 😌❤️
I worked in cm but by dividing your bust size by 4 in either cm or inches you will get the size of what one of your squares should be 😊❤️ I hope this helps!
Hi! I was wondering, would this fit to my body? I am size S, and I don’t want this top to be kinda big or too oversized.. can I make this top a little tight in the chest in a good way (even if I don’t have big breasts) by skipping some rows ?? ❤
Hi there! Yes, you can definitely make the squares smaller by using a very lightweight yarn or by changing the pattern of the squares completely. I have another video on the classic granny square and this one you can make as big or small as you want ❤️ Remember that the thinner the yarn and the smaller the hook, the smaller and tighter the project will be. I hope this helps! 😌🌼😘
Hi! They are 4.5 inches wide. I did use a medium weight yarn and a bigger crochet hook, you can of course use a light weight yarn with a smaller hook to get a smaller square 😊
Hi Shelley! Absolutely. What you can do is make the squares a little bigger by adding another row of double crochets around the border. The bigger the squares the wider it will be across the chest area. I hope this helps! ❤️
It looks really good but it is very small for me :/ So for someone with medium size especially if you have bigger boobs this top probably won’t fit you.
You can always add another few rounds around the end of each granny squares to make them larger or use a heavier weight yarn! You can also use a mesh style chain go join each square to add more space between them, this will make the top bigger ❤️ hope this helps! :)
I see!! Well… Christmas is coming up and I’m sure there is a lucky lady in your friendship group who would appreciate it as a gift. Please try it again and add a few more rows of a simple double crochet around each square to make it a bit larger for you 😊 Thank you for your comment though, I aim to make my videos (and patterns) better for everyone. Much appreciated and much love x
That's pretty darn lovely
Thank you Gail! 😃❤️ I hope you enjoy making it.

That’s awesome! I think long sleeves with this would be beautiful. I can definitely try and design something and make a video, let me know if you’d like me to 😌🫶🏼

I used milk cottons too! Blue and white just like you did!!! I guess I will have to make another!!

It came out beautifully, but not for me, I’m small at top!
What size person does this actually fit the average top size?
With the yarn weight and hook size I used, it is actually a little too big for me so I’d say this top is a 40 in size, like a medium or so.
It’s best to take measurements and then divide it by 4 to know how big your squares need to be to fit 😊❤️ you can up a hook size or create more borders around the edge of the squares to make them larger! 🌸
I’m doing something wrong. I end up having 1-2 petals more than I should. Any ideas on what I’m doing wrong?
I’m sorry to hear that! You might have one too many stitches on the previous row. Remember some chains don’t count as stitches. I really hope this helps! ❤️ good luck and let me know xx
Do you have a written pattern with stitch counts
@Vissable I haven’t written one for this pattern yet but that’s a wonderful idea.. I’ll write one.
I hope your petals are working out! 🌸
@@forestfeatherfashion still having issues that’s why I was hoping for a written pattern. But I’m not giving up! I’m determined
Can you please tell me what size are the squares please

Hi what weight yarn are you using please?
Hi! I’m using a light-medium weight Milk Cotton yarn for this project. I went through about 3-4 50g skeins. Hope this helps! 😊🌻
@@forestfeatherfashion Hi! is this 100% cotton or mix with acrylic?
@susanaescobedo1 this is a cotton acrylic blend! 😊 pure cotton would be lovely though x

@@forestfeatherfashion No problem and if it won’t fit me I can give it to my friend ❤️ The pattern is lovely ❤️ Much love from Sweden🥰
Turning the square into a diamond shape and measuring across should give you 1/4 of your complete bust measurement
