Zac took a chance and it didn't pay off. That said, as a jockey, he has no fear which may result in a gamble that won't pay-off and could have disastrous affects for a horse or a human.
Interesting, no not make way for him but jockeys need to do everything they can to hold their line. If that rule was not in place jockeys could hear another horse coming and let horse shift out to impede run. And of course jockeys must try to hold their line for everyone’s safety. I Appreciate your comment
The stewards had a difficult task in determining whether the protest should have been upheld or not. They had to be 100% convinced whether the interference cost Steffi at least 2nd place and because they weren't 100% convinced the protest was dismissed. The jockeys who finished 1st and 2nd were fined the amount mentioned on this video plus they each copped 1-month suspension as well. Steffi no doubt should have won but Zac cost Steffi the win by electing to ride thru that gap instead of switching to the inside. Lake Forest took the inside and got the win.
Zacs error by not staying on the rails, he saw the gap and went for it and it closed. Jock on the winner had all the space there to run up the rail. Wouldn't have got the run had Zac held his position.
Zac had made his desicion He could not have crossed back to the rails as he was NOT 2 lenghts clear of the horse behind him. ZAC although disappointed will learn from his misjudgedment
The protest was not against the winner it was against for the second horse for coming off his line and closing a run that was there and not there anymore after the horses shift. Further to that if Zac decided to stay on the inside where initially there was no run until Lazzart shifted out. Lake Forest would have been held up behind Stefi Magnetica and would not have gone through. But that’s racing, I backed Lake Forest so I am happy, I was just looking at the jockey’s comments of him stating he should of won and I agree he was unlucky not to win the race and probably should of won. But that’s racing!
@@davidfenn4444 I thought so to David, Did not cost anyone, it was a bump and sudden shift right on the post, and he did try to correct the horse as well. $100,000 mate. Wow!
The Jockey Zac, made a mistake, but you have to say why ride so far back with so little to go. Lester Piggott would have been on the leaders arse waiting for the Gap then zoom. They should start looking at his way of riding a big Race. Diolch yn fawr ich i, prynhawn da.
If my Auntie had balls she would be my Uncle. That's racing, the ifs and buts are irrelevant. You can micro analyse every race and get a different result. May as well re run the race and let Zac win hey 🏆.
Idk why zack came off the rail Imo there was probably more chance off a gap opening than pushing through which in the UK YOU WILL PICK UP DAYS and maybe loss the race. 33/1 Lake HAGGIS & Fallen /Just like his father very strong rider.
I can show you my bets on Betfair, I backed the winner and not one doller on Stefi Magnetica, very happy Lake Forest got the run on the inside, but I realise we only got that run due to Zacs decision not to stay on the rail.
I never blamed Lake Forest, I backed him and was best result in the race. Haggas is a star when he brings horses here, my respect was most high for him and that’s why I backed him.
He came of the rails to early he'd have been better running up the rails and he'd have had the opportunity to go up or in-between the two in front his mistake came off the rails to early he'd still over ten lengths to make up nothing Infront of him all the way up the rails when horses come under pressure they always drift of the rails so you always wait he moved of the rails to early
Complete rubbish. The horse coming forward in front of the winner actually takes a bit of a false step before the finish, but his run had petered out by then and the jockey made a mistake in not going for the gap up the rails. The winner did come into the second horse but in no way did it affect the outcome. Fallon received a ban which he is appealing for the severity, but the horse given the best ride won.
I don’t understand why everyone is against Zac in the comments. When he went for the run - his horse was going better than the French horse end of story. At the time Zac went for the run there wasn’t enough room on the inside - French horse clearly shifted out 2-3 horses from the inside. End of story, Zac was unlucky.
I have added a photo to show you my betting transactions on the race. Nothing on Stefi Magnetica, my best result Lake Forest, This assessment was after the race with a non bias view. Especially considering it was my financial gain advantage for lake Forest to win. It was a tough race so I did not have a big outlay. To make it clear I never said in the video Lake Forest should be demoted just Lazzart for shifting out 2 to 3 horses off the rail.
It was his mistake WTF did he come of the rails for he'd still about ten lengths to make up every jockey KNOWS when they come under pressure they drift off the rails he moved of the rails to early and don't forget the winner came from behind him can't say that the best horse didn't win 😉 PEACE ✌️
You might think differently after seeing Joao Moreira's ride on Buckaroo in 2024 Melbourne Cup. He is one of the top jockeys in the world. Aussie Jocks can mix it with the top international jockeys...just depends on where all of them are racing.
Look this about ifs, bits, & maybes. It's easy being wise after the event, it's easy for a punter to scream & shout call the jockey every name under the dam sun. Now I've see horses full of running jockey sat motionless with no gaps literally call them what you want it happens it will continue to happensix months ago I was one win of £50,000 I was the horse I backed was beaten a short head yes I was. Sick but it happens accept it & move on.

Zac took a chance which failed. Is it part of the racing rules that everyone needs to make way for him?

At the end of the day if you're on horses that get back you are depending on luck. In this case the winner got it, and Zack didn't.
was a very hard watch.
Zac had made his desicion He could not have crossed back to the rails as he was NOT 2 lenghts clear of the horse behind him. ZAC although disappointed will learn from his misjudgedment
The best horse won on the day. There wouldn't have even been an enquiry back in England.

@Infowinahead the fine on Fallon was a bit harsh I thought.

Sour grapes fining Fallon. Shifted left final 20 yards was nothing in it whatsoever. Best horse won the races.

Jockey mistake
Yes,
I would not blame the jocks in this case.
He should have stayed on the rail. Was he more concerned his bad judgment would be shown or lack of a big riding fee.
100K is bloody strooth it was right on the line. Wonder if it was Aussie Tom would have got that instead off fallen.

Sour grapes made the wrong decision. Its quite clear.
Can't blame lake forest for zac lloyds bad jockeyship. Didn't realise the Aussies were such bad losers

Totally agree with what you have said here John, This has been the wisest comment thus far, I can tell you know your racing.
WTF ... Lake Forrest did nothing wrong ... why would it be demoted ...
Lazzat…protest was 5th vs 2nd
Yes If you listen to the Video I was talking about 2nd place, Lazzart is the horse that shifted out.

Absolutely

Zac is a great jockey. Just that he made a split-second decision that turned out to be the wrong one. He'll win many more big races in future.

Aussie jocks can't mix it with the top international jockeys with the exception of maybe kerrin mcevoy and james mcdonald who's a kiwi.
😮
@goldenboots507 Zac Purton is good but he rides in HK. I wouldnt rate Mcevoy
@@paulhignett1624 Yeh agreed, I struggle to rate McEvoy as with the top class X Factor.
Keep dreaming

Cry baby! Ifs don’t count.🤐🤐🤐🤐🤐🤐
Bit of aussie bias going on here ,in my opinion the best horse won the gap was not there
Oh I had the winner, so no bias, just after the race review. Happy he got the run through. It was a fantastic finish hitting the line!
