He just sounds so defeated by the overtaking of Pilea 😂😂 Love it 😂
lol
🤣🤣🤣
man- I chanced upon this 2 years after I got overwhelmed....dammit... I just let a whole bunch....neglect,...!!
Me staring at my single pilea with two babies realizing that its gonna take over soon
lol
I have like 4 babies on my mother plant rn and I’m staring at it worried lmao
@@aliciacatlow3279 4 months later I have 8 , your gonna have loads more on the way😂
I got mine a month ago and I have 6 babies
Why do all your pilease seem to grow rapidly, i bought mine this September and it is still a baby.
I have had mine for a year, and it grew like 10 leaves..... And I was so proud....
growth is growth! im keeping them under grow lights so i have an advantage. Nice work!
personally i would love to buy one from you! i hope you open an etsy shop that would be great! congrats on all the babies
You’re a sweet guy. It’s not murder to “prune” a plant back. 😊
hehe i know its fun to play tho
True but I always feel like that too LOL
I just bought my first Pilea, and it’s already putting out babies. I think this aggressive growth habit would lend itself very well to a hanging basket , since it would probably fill out the container top to bottom; thus saving space from not having to separate a pot with limited growing area.
it would! try it!
That's so awesome that you're giving some away! I've been jonesing for one ever since I first saw them. They're so cute!!
"can't stop, won't stop"
-pileas
Great idea to share the love through a give away! I'm in western MA! Would love a piece of your collection! Looking forward to more videos!
That is actually insane how fast it propagates. Also I can believe how big the mother plant is.
yeah they multiply quick
Found this channel yesterday and immediately subscribed after the first video. An Etsy shop sounds like a great idea to spread some plant love. I'm very interested in taking care of the Pilea Peperomioides. Thank you for the awesome content, excited to see your channel grow!
Gorgeous!! I love the takeover they are doing! Thanks for the encouraging content! And glad they survived the babysitting wile you were overseas 😝 ! I’ve never sold on Etsy but I have ordered and all of them came either bare roots or a little soil rapped in plastic rap to cut down on weight! Happy planting!
YEEEEEES I’m so glad I’m not the only plant nerd. I’m so happy I found your channel 😍 I’ll deff take one off your hands lol
I can help u w/ your "problem" send some to me!
I LOVE my Pilea! Pretty soon I can practice what you taught me in your videos and transplant my babies too! Thanks So Much!!!
This is very interesting. I didn't realize pilea was so easy to propagate. Thank you for the chance too. What a neat thing to do!
Wow! I've never seen so many pileas! This plant is everything....Thank you for the chance!
Wow! I'm excited to see mine take over and reproduce so I can share too. Thanks for the info.
I've just found your channel, and I'm loving it! Personally, I also love plants. The Chinese Money Plant (Pilea Peperomioides) would be really cool to add to my collection... Maybe it'll add a buck or two to my wallet as well!
I'm in Canada,so I'm just here to tell you my experience from Victoria,B.C.. I first saw these guys on the internet, probably like most of us. I fell in love with them right away, they remind me of lilypads. The pileas were hard to find and when they showed up they were in rough shape. I finally got one and stopped paying attention to them in stores. I've gone to three plant places today, one boutique-y kind, and two big box. They are everywhere! It reminded me of the Star trek episode,'The trouble with tribbles'( I think) The lesson being: careful what you wish for!! I am now feeling a certain kind of fear and awe for mine, lol! 🐣🐰Happy Easter!🐇🐥
Love that you care so much about your Pilea Plants. It is a lovely plant. 😍
I recently discovered your videos and i love them, they are short, concise, and educational ❤ thanks
Thanks for the kind words im happy they are enjoyable
Aww adorable! Love the blooper 😊
This collection is amazing! I can't seem to find them around. I plan on going to a garden sale that occurs once a month, hopefully I'll find some there 🤞
Thank you so much for all of the info from your channel!! So glad I came across it! I just had my first pilea propagation go well thanks to you and I hope I can eventually set up a farmer’s market booth selling the babies- maybe an idea for you too!
Amazing! Im glad i could help!
Lol you are so cute & funny at the end 😂. My pilea is the opposite of growing out of control. Thanks for the tips, I'll be mindful of them!
I subscribe and starting watching your channel about a year ago.
It's amazing how well your plant collection has grown.
I like how you go straight to the point and try to keep you videos around 10 to 15 minutes. Each video is always informative on what is currently working for you.
Keep the videos coming.
I have never purchased plants online. Most of what I like I can purchase locally at reasonable prices.
I checked Etsy out for plants and thought prices were to high, especially for single nod cuttings.
Thanks for the kind words
happy f you as t plt multiply fast meaning u can sell it n check it out how to do shipping etc. All the best t your new adventure
OMG! I would kill, well, not really, for one of these! Beautiful! Also - What I see people have a lot of success with as far as shipping is to wrap the plants in strong brown paper. Many people simply have them in plastic bags in moss or soil and then wrapped in strong paper. Try watching an unboxing video of Steve's leaves. They package their plants perfectly. YES, open an Etsy store!
I love your videos! They have helped me learn about propagation and so much more! Thank you please make more!!
Thanks for watching! Im planing to make a bunch of propagation videos about a lot of other plants, so stay tuned and thanks for watching!
Just found your channel. I've never seen one in person but love them!
wow so many!! mine has stopped making new plants for some reason. I love your videos!
Such a gorgeous pilea! That’s one that’s definitely on my wishlist; so hard to find where I live.
I've found you a few months ago and love your videos! I've been thinking about getting one of these for a while now. Maybe I will. I enjoy propagating plants. Thanks for the info and I will continue to be a loyal fan!
Thank you thank you!
Whoaho that’s a hell of a lot of pileas! I’d certainly be glad to take one off your hands.
And as for selling on Etsy, I’d say go for it! Limited stock is an effective marketing strategy in and of itself 👌🏼
Love your videos!! I found your channel yesterday and watched so many already, very informative!! :D I was looking at buying one of these yesterday but the one I found was so small and pretty expensive I thought, so the internet might be my best bet! (Not commenting for the giveaway I'm in the UK!) Keep up the good work and thanks very much for the great info!
WOW! Impressive. I love watching this video. You gave me hope! Thanks for sharing.
Tina Pippen-Blackford me too!!! I purchased a teeny-tiny one at a craft show. Mine isn’t growing very quickly. I appreciate this helpful video. 🌱👏🏽
I love how you have so many pileas and would personally like one also!
Another great vid! These kinds of videos are very interesting and informative! Again good job my man!! 👍👍💪💪💯💯
Hey thanks for watching!!
I think your plants will do wonderfully by my home here in Hawaii. Thank you for your kind offer. I live by Waimea Valley. My daughter used to propegate rare endangered plants.
Thanks for a chance for a pilea!
What did one hungry plant say to the other plant?
I’m in the mood for a light snack.
Ha..
Tiffany Kim dad joke!
Congrats. So many beautiful, little plants!
Thanks so much 😊
Congratulations on all your babies!! Love them🌿🌱
Thank you so much!
Thank you for the info! Loving this plants and hope to get one soon :)
Thanks so much for doing this giveaway. I hope I get picked! I’ve had no luck trying to find one in my area. 🌿
I love your videos. I wish I lived in the US because in the Scotland I struggle to find pileas. Can't believe you have so many pileas!!
Rory Cormack I’m in England - can post babies!
Great video! I would really love to have my first ever pilea from you! They're clearly such happy plants in your care 🌱
If you set up an etsy to sell plants I will definitely check it out.
Thank you so much for doing this!! Pileas are so cute, hope I get picked! :)
So for shipping plants I dont have a lot of experience but depending on how strong the plant is but it doesn't need much. All you need is a sturdy box and packing paper line the bottom with it so it doesn't spill dirt out of the box. Then just put the plant in and (if you want) wrap the pot with packing paper too. Then cover with some packing peanuts and you should be set. This worked for me! I really hoped this helps!
it would be so cool to have a pilea peperomides i am currently adding more plants to my jungle...er room and it would be so cool to own one i have been taking lots of notes about them and find it would be really cool to own one!
thank you,
Diana
Wow! So many of these! Makes me so jealous! I would love to get a small baby if possible, love the video!
Thanks for the informative video. A pilea is one of my wishlist plants so I hope I get picked! thanks for doing the giveaway!
I have bought several plants from Etsy, Walmart and Amazon and I'm very pleased with them. Go for it. It's worth it.
Ill try it!
Did you ever sell these plants on Etsy?
How was it packed for shipping?
you should definitely open an etsy shop! also i would be happy to get one of the babies! i love your videos by the way, your channel deserves so many more subs!!
I’m happy to pay for shipping, thank you for all the great content👍
I would most definitely buy one from you! I got one in a subscription box and I over watered it, so it just has a tuft at the top.
The way the subscription box had sent it was in a tall box then the pot was in a smaller box (sort of as a stabilizer) with the plant sticking out
thanks for that info, I hope your plant rebounds well!
love the plants I just bought one can't wait for it to grow big so I can get some babies from it
My daughter gave me a baby last year that was a little more than 1.5 inches tall. It’s not yet grown big enough to make babies, but it’s close. I hope you find homes for all the babies’ babies’ babies!
Thanks, good luck with yours
I love your videos! I would love to get one of your pileas. I’m happy to pay for shipping also. I hope you really consider getting an Etsy store. I believe you could make enough money like you said to pay for the electricity for the grow lights to raise these babies and then some. Good luck to you in this new adventure ♥️
Bought one almost 3 months ago . Beautiful med sized leaves no issues so far :)
Live in the US would love to get one! I would love to add this one to my collection i don't have this one!
I bought a pilea peperomioides from the clearance rack at Lowe's for $7, it was extremely dry and had 5 leaves on it after I trimmed the dead ones off. A month later, with just regular watering and good light it has 12 full size leaves and 5 or 6 small ones coming out. This gives me hope for mine
Thank you for all this awesome info about these plants. I’d love to win one.
My story of the Pilea started with a teeny tiny baby propagation in a cuttings package from EBay which included 20 other tropical plant leaf/stem varieties. My pilea was so small (it was dried lentil size a pair of newly sprouted leaves and 1/8" stem...no roots) now I too have many babies from that plant. These are in a North East facing window only, no " grow lights" here in Northern Nevada hot/cold dry desert. Thanks for sharing your story and plants. My next new plant will be a ZZ ...Aglaonema aka, Chinese Evergreen plants were my most expensive complete fail ...horrible! Goodluck with your pileas.
awesome story! thanks for sharing and good luck with the ZZ plant!
I'd love to win one!! It's so awesome you were able to accumulate that many (basically) free plants in just one year, but at the same time, I can imagine how it could quickly become overwhelming... Especially when you're working with a limited amount space. It's so generous of you to do a giveaway! Hope I win one! 🙏
Ill do another giveaway soon!
When Pilea conquered you 😂😂 It’s 2020 and I’m still stuck with this TechPlant guy 😂 Shoutout from the Philippines 🖖🏼
thanks! Also im jealous of where you live, so many nice tropical plants!!!!
Wow, that’s amazing. I’d love a plant, I don’t mind paying for shipping. I have one, but for some reason, seems to be struggling. Not sure why. I’ve purchased a few plants from Etsy & overall, I feel it’s been a good experience. I think the plant that died was related to the cold weather shock. I think the biggest issue with buying online is the shipping costs & improper packing. Guess as a buyer, ive been lucky so far. Let us know if you set up shop!
This is hilarious. Yes it is funny that you're running out of space and friends to give these things to, but they're happy. Maybe one of the things you could do if you haven't thought about it is see if there's some network you can join for people who swap cuttings or baby plants.
I'm live in Miami and I'm lucking for this plant and no vary have. The first time I see this plant I'm in love
hmm they seem common in the midwest, im surprised because florida usually has all the cool plants
I love pilea’s. They are so beautiful
Definetly start an Etsy shop. If you have Offer Up or another service like that then sell those babies. It will alsohelp your future plant buying budget. Look up plant exchanges in your demographic. You could trade the babies for plants you dont have to add to your collection. You are such a good plant daddy!
I was not surprised t hear about pilea p. It is a prolific plant. I have one that the center is close to thirty inches tall and the numerous babies are twelve inches tall. My problem is the weak stems. I have put in stakes to keep it upright. I like the shape of the leaves and am down to two pots. I have given several to people but you seem to be in a conundrum! They do take up space under lights. Mine are not under lights but have southern exposure. Fun to see your collection.
Amazing! I've given out quite a few roo. Thanks for watching
We have a local Take a Plant, Leaf a Plant Facebook group and thousands of people would take those plants. Sometimes within 5 minutes. Sharing is caring 😊
ok i just bought one of these in the mail . it was in its pot with light mix. they placed folded paper towel bunched up all around the centre stems then taped those down over the top of the pot with paper type masking tape .. plant looks good. the pot was sideways in the box taped to the side of the box and there where styro beads in the box holding the leaves up off the side
I’d try growing the lopsided one upside down.. kinda topsy turvy style .. maybe make a upside down planter out of a hanging basket or something. I’m almost positive you could find people who want those plants. I’m not even sure if they have a patent .. Facebook market place or even a spring yard sale.. I love these particular plants..
yeah they are very cool, ive seen some amazing hanging baskets with really long mature ones!
I would def buy one from you! I bought recently a pilea from Etsy for $40 and it's not doing well at all. I've watched tons of videos on its care- im following them to the T, and im just not sure its gonna make it. Scares me so much! It wasn't in the best shape when I got it, which I think is most of the problem. I do have 2 babies coming so maybe they'll be my saving grace! But if you do open an Etsy, keep your RUclips subscribers posted!!!! Yours look UH-MAZING!!! 🌱🌿☘
Thanks I will, I let mine get pretty dry before watering, so maybe its getting too much water.
Wow! so many plants 🌿🌿🌿🌿
yeah they never stop growing
Yes you can sale them especially it will be cheaper than anything from many stores..
Wow awesome info and Pilea family!
Thanks! its really getting out of control now. the babies babies are having babies!
I am obsessed with the commentary in your videos! 😂😂😂
Glad you enjoy it lol!
I've given away so many Pilia babies! They are very productive! It is like...zucchini in the summer if you know what I mean haha I have gotten a few Etsy plants, care in packing is key I think. Also I live in the north east so always ask for heat packs, but some folks might not think of that.
Fantastic!!! Love all the babies, wish to have a few😊😊🤗🤗😂😂😂
they are a lot of fun
I would definitely buy one from you :0
Me 2
im a potter and make planters, so id be glad to take any of those off your hands! 💖
Do you have a link or a way i can look up your pots?
@@TechplantChannel let me know if i can pay for shipping and get the extra house plants
i love watching your work you have showed me alot
Thanks for watching and the kind words
I would really appreciate it. I haven't been able to find one ANYWHERE in my area. 😔i love watching you!
Walmart app 5.99
Yeah, Yeah! I sure would like one. Wow! that's amazing though.
“Slap ‘‘em in water” 😂
lol
i cant wait to get 2 of these and grow many many babies of them😍😭❤️!!!
You only need one plant for babies! they naturally just branch off of the root system!
You many have figured it out by now....but have you thought about local FB market place? ........by the way thanks for these super informative videos! My pilea started sprouting babies so I can't wait to see success!
I quote you on a weekly basis from one of your earlier videos where you say, “People ask me if I ever change the water in my propagations. NO. I never change the water.” It’s funner to me than it should be.
lmao, reading this cracked me up
I really like these plants.
Shipping advice: cover the soil in the pot with newspaper or paper towel and then cover with tape so no soil falls out. The soil can be damp, but always keep the stem and leaves dry: moisture + no light (in a parcel) = rot. Stake vulnerable plants and fill up the shipping box with more newspaper to keep from cold and damage: shipping equals boxes being thrown around. You might even want to fortify your box with same size stakes in all 4 corners.
For bare root plants: same thing, i.e. roots packed in sphagnum, surround with wet kitchen towels and pack (only roots!) tightly in plastic.
I've had very delicate plants, packed like this, be in transit for 10 days with no stress or damage.
Do not ship tropical plants when it is freezing!
Hi.I bought one pilea vase last week and from this vase I could separe 7 babies plants . A lot to give to friends.
So nice of you!
I feel like the reason yours are multiplying so rapidly is because of your grow lights, I’m sure not everyone will get the same reaction from just buying it to have as just a houseplant especially considering how the lighting in everyone’s home is disbursed. I have bought a plant on amazon, it was actually a philodendron so I’m sure you could do it! Maybe check out some other videos on RUclips for shipping plants, there has to be some content in here somewhere lol good luck with your plants!
ive been doing a bit of research, I do think the lights play a big role because they are so consistent
I just found your channel and find it so helpful! I am currently trying to grow a lemon tree and propagating my pothos plant after watching your videos. I am curious if you have a platform set up to purchase some of your plants? I just made my first purchase on Etsy recently but have not received the plants yet. I would love to see what you have to offer!
Im trying to work my way there, I need some more space so i can actually grow out multiples so i can sell more than like 1 if that makes sense, maybe before the end of the year ill ahve a shop up and running, thanks for watching my videos!
New subscriber of urs. Always wanted one of this plant. Would love ur giveaway 😊👌
Would love to have a Pilea! Such an amazing plant, thank you for such insight. Please Bless Me with a Pilea baby! Be Blessed!
omg!! please please let me have some or at least one!! i love pileas, always have but they were so expensive about a year ago :( i love in VA!
I love my pilea
Happy for it to take over
same they are so cool
Im going to try and "pothos" up 🤣🤣🤣 i am so sorry but i could not resist.
lol
Some ship bare root wrapped in moist moss. They also charge for shipping. If it isn't super cold outside you don't have to offer a heat pack for extra charge. And I think paypal is the way to go.
I would love to have one of those!!!
I realize I'm late to this video (sorry, new subbie here. I've been binge watching your content 😅) but if you don't do an Etsy shop, you should consider trying to sell on Offer Up if they have it in your area! I buy plants through the app all the time. My area (Houston, Texas) has a lot of local plant lovers who grow plants, and either have too many or just like to sell successful propagations. That could be an easy way to help give the plant babies new homes! I'm sure they're all fully grown by now lol
