I'm trying to get back into running fast again :) I've been struggling a lot this past year but I ran a 10k yesterday and I'm slowly starting to train for a half marathon in April!

I'm training for my first trail half marathon in just under 3 weeks! Also, running fueled makes such a difference (i.e. eating breakfast beforehand & small snacks during). So happy to hear you're doing the same.
I'm also curious to know how you like running with a sports watch! I stopped using one a few years ago and run exclusively for time, but everyone's different.
I really think it has helped me in many ways. I no longer need to use a vest to carry my phone in order to track my time/pace etc. and I think it's so much more convenient for intervals and so on :) I'm still quite new to using it so I will learn more about it as I get along.
omg i was on a run today at this EXACT spot 9:27 haha, you have inspired me so much to start running- for years running and cardio was a form of "punishment" or solely for the reason of weight loss, but my last 2 runs have been so ENJOYABLE, even tho they were hard but I was having a blast and at the end of the run I was so so happy and couldn't wait for my next run. thank u for the best quality and amazing videos Katha !!!
Super excited to have the running content back! Started following during your marathon prep, and as a fellow danish runner, I find your content very entertaining and relatable 😊
I'm so glad! Thank you so much. I'll do another marathon series this winter to prepare for cph marathon in 2025. But for now I focus solely on the half :)
@@katharinaschneiderr Awesome to hear! I'll of course also be following the half-amrathon prep, I've been following all of the content, including the fun Japan vlogs 😁 I'm currently recovering from runner's knee, so I haven't been able to run for 12 weeks, and going back watching your videos from when you also were injured helped me a lot 🙂
Hey! Great vid I use the pace 3 as well! I have tried many Garmins even the new ones and I prefer this one. I’m newer bout 1 year into running and currently doing 5k at about 24 minutes, trying to work on long distance runs. I ran 8 miles in about an hour and 12 mins so I’m getting there! Want to run a half marathon!
Hi Katharina, I have no doubt you'll hit your sub 1:40 goal. I've done sub 1:40 and you have a faster marathon time than I do. If you don't mind, please show your HR data in your Strava! I'd love to see it and compare to mine since I think we're in a similar fitness level. Honestly I'm still in awe of your marathon time for someone who just started running. I think you are underestimating how fit you are.
Thank you so much! I honestly surprised myself a lot for the marathon as well. let's see how the next one in may 25 will go on.. I'd love to share my heart rate with you but I don't know how? I just connect my watch to strava and then it uploads the run automatically. If you know how, let me know! I'll set it up instantly :)
@@katharinaschneiderr that's weird, but in the Strava app go to You → Settings → Data Permissions → Allow Health-Related Data Access. I think that should fix it.
You should try experimenting with eating protein from animals the night before and the day of your runs. People like to carbo load but animal protein is the best store of energy and I feel infinitely better during my runs because of that. However, everyone is different but it's worth trying out to see if it works for you.
@ziggi56 No, fat from animals is the best because it's stored in the form of triglycerides, not macromolecules. Fat from animals provides more than twice the potential energy as carbs or protein. It's not just my opinion.
@@maxw5900 Thanks for this discussion! I was researching triglycerides because of it :) But I have some questions. Are we talking about protein or fats? Triglycerides are basically fats, and are therefore also part of plant based fats. If you mean saturated fats are best, coconut oil has a lot of those for example. But in general the body can also generate triglycerides easily by itself and does so from any surplus calories. Which is why it is normally without a lot of exercise rather a problem that you have too many triglycerides in your blood.
Great work 👍🏻🏃♂️ U dont need a carbon plate shoes! Buy shoes u can handling and feels good on ur feet. Maybe new pairs of those adidas u using in ur training👍🏻those u only using at the race. i´m training for an imaginary hm (currently week 5) with a huge break since 2021. so it´s a big grind back to known performance. keep it up!! :)
