aaww Cher, you've been such an inspiration to me. I'm now almost at the end of my PGCE, and your videos have been SO helpful! Like you, I am also introverted, and I can already relate to what you say about feeling the pressure to be soo involved for the "professional behaviours" standard. It is so good that you're prioritising your work-life balance; this is something that I'll also make sure I implement once I qualify. Lastly, don't be hard on yourself; you're clearly an amazing teacher. I've heard from several experienced teachers that the ECT years are TOUGH but it gets a lot easier afterwards. You may not feel it at the moment, but I'm sure the challenges you have faced have been character-building and are all part of the journey towards you becoming an expert inspirational teacher in the future. Wishing you the very best and I'll be following your journey as always. x
Dunno if you remember me but I commented in Sept about beginning my PGCE. I know it's hard but just know there's at least one teacher out there who you have helped to feel less alone and more supported!
I appreciate how honest you are in this video! You’re doing amazing but it’s okay to say you’re not loving it all of the time. I find especially the holidays it gives you time to actually breathe and think hold on a minute am I actually enjoying this or am I just surviving until the next holiday
Hang in there Cher. I’m an ECT 1 myself and the year has been full of highs and lows so far. I think next year will be easier as we can build on everything we’ve done this year. The cognitive load of being a new teacher is so huge. Enjoy the rest of the holidays and keep prioritising your mental health.
As an ECT 2 I can defo relate to you saying teaching is too much sometimes - I feel like my second year has been a bit easier in my school as the school still uses the resources and i can rely on lessons from the previous years. I'd defo say try not to take work home and get work done in your frees if possible.
Broke my heart when you said you feel like you've sold your soul to teaching. Here if you ever need to chat. I know I've reached out before, but the offer is still there. I'm glad you've managed to relax a bit during Easter though and I hope you can continue for the rest of the week xx
I so relate, this teaching ish is damn hard and does feel all encompassing! I started my ECT in January and it has been a struggle. You are doing amazing Cher and have been an amazing source of inspiration! We got this 👍🏾
Thanks so much Cher cool… your channel helped me prepare for my interview/personal statement . You have done so well here and it’s ok to feel the way you feel right now.
I’m a high school teacher in the U.K. and honestly I feel the same. I used to have a RUclips channel and I really miss posting videos so much! How does your school feel about you having a RUclips channel? X

It would be amazing if we could all have a teacher group chat on WhatsApp or something to share our thoughts and feelings ❤
