You got to appreciate Geoffs transparency on the evaluation of the cards… He knew the cards were undervalued, but he also knew that by utilizing his clout on Whatnot that he could get the prices he needs to make a profit… To have that conversation filmed and put on live. You have to respect the transparency. Plus the difference in being able to communicate and talk with somebody in a negotiation goes a long way , it saved the deal!

Came down to Florida on vacation from Michigan. Brought a stack of graded down with me to visit this place. I comped my stack from cardladder at around $1200. Fat boy offered me $350. I couldn’t believe it. I laughed and turned around and left. They do have a lot of overhead though…so
I just do not have the patience to deal with some of these "sellers". I would have told him to just go ahead and send his crusty little cards to PSA and sell them. So he can see how much hard work that takes.
i think its actually a negotiation tactic, if he act all cool and calm with whatever they're saying, it won't put pressure on geoff to up his offer, and in the end, he ultimately made them increase their offer (meaning, maybe he was cool with 20k actually but knew he can get more by being more difficult etc)

First, poker is not a game of chance. Second, cards are a physical very liquid asset. Even if a $1k card drops in value I can still get some money back if I sell at a loss. If I lose a $1k poker hand, I’m out 100% of that money.

He is trying to value the cards at the highest even if they were Graded, but they're not. Not every card is worth grading It costs money to grade and sell the cards after.
