Hey Jamin. Somebody sent me this. Your comment about respecting the foundation and adding your own style couldn't be a bigger compliment, thank you from the bottom of my heart. For others seeing this, personal influences include Cab Calloway, Jimmy Slyde, Jessie Walker, Mabel Lee, Leon James... I'm more active on Instagram since I'm way too production lazy for YT. See you around someday!
That's smooth dancing where the creativity and the flow of the bodymovements dictates the sequence instead of what you said overdoing by wanting to complete certain jazz-moves.
I can confirm that the other dancer got more response from the crowd than Alexander but seeing the video afterwards gives another light on both their performances.
Yo, nice video and comment about Alexander. But we should remeber also second dancer, which is getting more popular in dance community. Shiney from Warszawski Funk. He is also dope and gives dope vibe throught that battle.
Sorry to butt in - I'm pretty sure the 2nd place dancer's name is Sunny, not Shiney (perhaps even spelt Sonny?). This comp was beastly and Sunny showed up! From my perspective, the crowd reacted so much to Sunny because Alexandre KILLED it in the earlier round and looked untouchable. Sunny was the underdog and really pulled some cool stuff out of the bag (the guitar strumming, squaring up to Alexandre and licking his tongue out - which is obscured in the video).
I felt more impressed with Shiney. I was really drawn to the way he was improvising to match the energy of the competition. Like when Alexandre really came up to him and crowded his space, it seemed like he played with opposites, by slowing things down and backing way up, then on the next go round when Alexandre kept up the same energy, Shiney matched that and went right up to him. I liked how he was able to play with the audience, play with the persona he was displaying, how he was responding to his competitor, and improvise the competition from the perspective of it also being a performance. I didn't vibe as much with how Alexandre's persona kinda stayed the same the whole way through. His footwork and lower half movements are incredible though. It was great to listen to your thoughts, Jamin, because I think I also missed a lot of what Alexandre was doing because it was complex and maybe more of a fusion of dance and musical elements that I'm not used to seeing as much. I have a feeling I'll come back to watch this video again as my perspective and skills grow and change. I think both of these dancers are amazing, and I'm sure I could learn so much from either one.

Keep representing!
I mean Alexander... What can we say, except exceptional Jazz quality! The way he flows from traditional jazz steps is impeccable and soooo smooth

Thanks for sharing. I mention the other dancer at the beginning. He is talented.
@@streetsmartswing I know that, but ia good to mention him by his name/nickname to credit him for rest of people watching this 😊😊
Thanks for sharing his name. Never heard of him before and the original video didn’t include it either.
Hey, I saw more comments on this profile, why were they deleted?
Ps. Alexander and Shiney danced great! Congrats to them :)
