    I always have respect for someone who has a stop & quietly comes around again. Nicely fixed!

    When it's not show season here I watch show vlogs lol, I love it when Bear is all up in braids

    Unfortunately this is life with horses, really grateful (and weirdly proud) that you continued to vlog and post this when it didn’t go well. This is just the reality of working with live animals and it’s so helpful for everybody to see this and it’s not always rainbows. As a new subscriber I’m catching up with your old vlogs and intrigued to see how badminton went :)

    That was an unfortunate bit of shouting. Never mind. Onwards and upwards from here. Bring on Badminton. There was an Olympic combination who fell on the cross country in their last event before the Olympics and still did a credible performance at the Olympics.

      Will remember that, just need to relax for Badminton now and enjoy it!! X

    You never ride like a lemon you ride beautifully, sometimes horses and especially welshies, are bloody unpredictable on the day and can just go upside down, 😀😀💪🏽

    Dressage was amazing, as was the XC, don't worry about the showjumping, silly bear, although someone did shout very loudly as you came to the double with the fillers! X

    Bummer about stadium, but glad you had a lovely dressage and confident CX! Good luck at Badminton that’s amazing that you get a chance to compete there! I’m in the states and they have lower level comps at the KY horse park where our 5* is and it’s always been on my bucket list to compete there one day!

      Yes such a shame but onwards and upwards. It's so lovely for amateur riders to have the chance to compete at these big venues isn't it. I'm so looking forward to it, not long now!! X

    I was at Badminton for the second time. Those jumps are scary. The horses must have great trust in their riders

    I was literally just at SRC today (28/10/2021) with my 4 year old pony who needs to learn to pick his feet up over a jump but it was a big achievement for me as I broke my collarbone on the 24 August 2021 and only was allowed to start riding again on Monday 25 October and first time in an open field cantering with the 4 year old but he is going up for sale soon as he was a project for the summer!!

    I'm guessing bear is really sensitive to how you feel? You looked so relaxed in the dressage then in the jumping, you seem nervous. Bear did so well to help you out and I appreciate you show the highs and lows of BE!xx

    think about this. A bad rehearsal makes a good performance. Don't do the extra showjump. I think you over ask her if you do that.

  • @fernwrightoneventing

    OMG the exact same thing happened to me for my last run before Badminton, 2 down (and I almost got jumped off), but I think I bad run is actually a good omen, like you got the bad luck and mistakes out of your system. I actually fell off in the SJ warm up at Badders too and then went to jump round clear 😂😂😂 Made me angry so I rode like stink after 🤣🤣 Good luck lovely, Bear is gorgeous! ❤️❤️🍀

    • @elphick.event.ponies
      @elphick.event.ponies  5 лет назад +2

      Haha this fills me with confidence now, hopefully we will follow in your footsteps (maybe minus the fall in the SJ warm up as that might be the end of me). Thanks very much!! Xx

    If you ask me, that went well. You stopped Bear (or the pony stopped you, not sure :D) before you stuffed up the jump so all good.

    Who shouted? Was it you or someone in the audience? I am confused cause it looked like she was going straight for that jump.

    • @daliborashadowheart2111
      @daliborashadowheart2111 5 лет назад

      KMartha22 I’m pretty sure it was the girl. Which I don’t understand why. She was going for the jump like she should.

      She could feel the horse backing off her leg and she could feel the horses starting to refuse

    • @ellies.event.ponies823
      @ellies.event.ponies823 5 лет назад

      dalibora shadowheart she could feel her loosing focus and interest, which could have led to a run out or refusal, so she shouted to re focus her

    you were way to hard on yourself

  • @kbequestrian128
    @kbequestrian128 5 лет назад +1

    This is the part of eventing/jumping I don’t like. You proclaim you love these horses and then scream at them when they’re going to stop because they’re clearly scared? You can’t gain trust when the horse is working off fear.

    • @shanelewis1116
      @shanelewis1116 5 лет назад +1

      Yes the horse gets nervy but when we talk to them so they can hear or give them a tap with a crop it gives them the confidence to do it

    • @kbequestrian128
      @kbequestrian128 5 лет назад +1

      Shane Lewis I don’t think you understand horses. Talking to then so they can hear us if different to screaming at them when they’re scared. ‘Tapping’ them with the whip is basically making them more scared of the whip than the jump, so they go forward - not really ‘encouraging’ at all, just using fear to our advantage.

    • @miabond5198
      @miabond5198 4 года назад +1

      A lot of people growl and shout some horses find it as a push or encouragement! If my horse is spooky I will shout go on when we line up so he knows I'm there are he's right! She didn't whip him or smack him.

      I don't think she could help it. It was a moment of uncertainty for both of them and she was scared/worried
