Sukhmani Sahib is the greatest composition of fifth Guru, Shri Guru Arjan Dev Ji. It includes hymns from Guru Granth Sahib Ji starting from Ang 262 to Ang 296. It is said that Guru Arjan Dev Ji wrote this bani in response to request from a devotee who was suffering form physical pain and mental anguish; it later restored him to calm and health. Reciting the Sukhmani Sahib is believed to bring peace to one's mind. There is no fixed time to recite this prayer. People can recite this bani at any time.
