Our girl became a splendid woman. After all what she's been through these whole years, Kumiko is the ideal role model for the new generation. Good ending imo. No drama, just enjoyment and (finally) a sensation of fulfillment for our characters. And yes, i teard up LOL all the flashbacks really hit me....Kumiko and the gang passed through a real journey in this school huh PS: i know other people might have said this, but KyoAni really baited yuri lovers, but apparently in the LNs it is implied that Kumiko actually ended up with Shuichi...our boy had basically all the scenes cut, but it is what is is LOL EDIT: i just saw people talking that Kumiko, in the end, was wearing the brooch Shuichi gave her in the movie....remember she said if after all that, if he still was interest in her, he could give her back? So yeah, she's wearing it, which implies they are dating.
Ah, Shuichi's scenes got cut too much, which is why I rated the character part lower.Who doesn't care about these two's ending, right? Seriously. Also, I glimpsed some LN scenes of Kumiko and Reina; let's just say the yuri vibes are pretty strong in the original. There are some regrets too, like not seeing the three euphoniums play together, but it's over now. And as you said, Kumiko's growth is inspiring, especially finding her ideal career path at this age. Really envious, good for her. Lastly, I personally think the impact of the KyoAni fire and the resulting talent gap will last for decades, like this season almost had no performance scenes, which was really heartbreaking.
The epilogue depicts a mask discarded in a trash can and an acrylic board to prevent droplets, and depicts events several years later. It's too real. Due to the spread of the new coronavirus, national brass band competitions have been canceled in Japan. The upperclassmen may not have had the opportunity to play in an ensemble, let alone compete at the national competition, so I imagine that the current third-year students are full of motivation.
