The next generation girl group OH MY GIRL who has been attracting of the global music fans since their debut a year ago. They are coming back with the repackage album [WINDY DAY], and this time they are warning us about their transformation with one-and-only concept and performance of OH MY GIRL.
This repackage album [Windy Day], the third mini album, includes the title song ‘WINDY DAY’, along with ‘STUPID IN LOVE’, ‘LIAR LIAR(Chinese Ver.)making up 8 songs in total.

デビュー1年でグローバル音楽ファンを惹きつけながら、次世代ガールズグループとして浮上したOH MY GIRLが、リパッケージアルバム『WINDY DAY』で、もう一度OH MY GIRL特有のコンセプトとパフォーマンスで変身を予告している。
今回のリパッケージアルバム『Windy Day』には、3rdミニアルバムの収録曲はもちろん、タイトル曲「WINDY DAY」、「STUPID IN LOVE」、「LIAR LIAR(Chinese Ver.)」など全8曲が収録されている。

사랑이라는 낯선 감정을 windy day라는 가사와 인도풍의 사운드로 표현한 곡
대중성을 위해서라면 이렇게 급변하는 사운드는 모험성이 강해서 지양하겠지만
그런 것에 아랑곳하지 않고 오마이걸만의 색깔을 표현했다.
그렇기에 큰 대중성을 가져오기에 역부족인 것은 어쩌면 당연한 결과였을지 모른다.
하지만 평소 여러 장르를 즐기며, 독특함에 내성이 있는 나에게는
그 독특함에 한 번, 경쾌한 사운드로 두 번 반하게 되는 곡이다.
마치 닭고기, 돼지고기, 소고기가 맛도 가격도 다르지만 각자의 가치가 있듯이
WINDY DAY라는 곡도 음악의 다양성을 채워주는 하나의 곡이라 생각한다.
처음에 노라조 같아서 뭐지 싶었는데 들을수록 너무 좋음 ㅠㅠ 근데 약간 처음 들었을 때부터 좋은 걸 대중들이 선호하다보니까 점점 묻힌듯.. 너무 아쉽네요
잘 들어보면 정말 정말 신경쓴곡임.

첫눈에 보고 딱 알아보더래요;;; 진짜 소름ㄷㄷ 우리나라 뮤직비디오 이미지구현은 모두 서울대 이런데서 배운 지식인 전문가들 고용해서 여러가지 비주얼코드 사용해서 만들기 시작한 게 2010년경부터 두드러진것같은데, 사실 소시나 카라 뮤비도 가만 보면 평범한 이미저리 사용하지 않거든요 근데 보통 상징에서 끝나는데 이 뮤비는 진짜 나중에서야 보고 뭘 깨닫게 하는 힘이 있어 진짜 그저 엔터테인먼트 용으로 사람들 기분만 좋으라고 그냥 만들어진 것은 아님
클로저와 더불어 묻히기엔 너무 아까운 명곡.....

이노래는 정말 처음엔 봄바람 느낌이고 중간에는 숲속이나 들판에서 싱그러운 바람을 맞을때 후렴은 돌풍이 쒸익하고 지나가는 느낌이 너무 소름돋을 정도로 머릿속에 그려짐 ㄷㄷ
카레카레하지만 갑작스레 덮쳐오는 돌풍을 가장 잘 표현했다고 생각한다 ..

와 이 노래 진짜 오랜만이다..님들 이거 제발 바람 부는 날 꼭 야외에서 들어보셈. 2016년, 제주도 올레길 걷다가 사람 별로 없어서 노래 크게 틀고 친구랑 제주도 바람 맞으면서 뛰어 댕겼는데 그 짧은 1~2분동안 너무 행복했던 기억만 가득함.. 누군가에겐 미친 짓처럼 보였어도 진짜 행복해서 언제 생각해도 돌아가고 싶어진달까...
저는 자전거 타면서 들으면 더욱 좋아요. 자전거로 바람 가르는 느낌이 드는데, 이 노래의 분위기를 몸으로 체험할 수 있습니다.

인도풍 사운드가 호불호가 있긴 하겠지만

대형기획사에서 만든 뮤비들조차도과거와 현재 뮤비가 하나하나 다 동떨어져 있거나 서로 상관없거나 그냥 큰 의미나 개연성까지는 없는데서 그치는게 보통인데, 얘네들껀 진짜 아님;; 뭔가도상학적 이미지에 과거 현재 뮤비 하나하나 다 일관적인 상징물이 숨겨져 있어요 진짜 재밌음; 원래 저는 가요장르는 별로 진지하게 생각 안하고 보면서 시시덕거리거나 잊어버리는데 이건 아님
2019 2021 2022 2023 2024.. and I am still listening! One of the things about oh my girl is that their songs have longevity. You can hear it years later and it doesn’t sound dated unlike some groups. It still sound refreshing! That’s why I stan oh my girl so bad! This is just one of the many reasons!

이 곡은 최근에야 듣게 되었는데 오마이걸의 몇 손가락 안에 드는 명곡으로 생각된다. 명곡은 언젠가는 드러나는 법. 경쾌하고 서정적인 후렴구는 단연 최고다.

I loveeee Mimi, but fans have to understand not every song needs a rap. Sometimes it's difficult to fit in a rap, especially with a song like this with so many different types of sounds. Mimi also sings, I think people forget that. In One step two step there wasn't a rap because Mimi helped with singing. Not every song needs to stick to the kpop formula. Mimi has many parts on their recent album, people should give it a listen ☺️ These ladies need your support! I think everyone is happy in the group and are enjoying the music they put out

I think they expected a rap because Mimi doesn't sing often so it's harder for fans to differentiate her voice from the other members, I still have no idea where her voice comes in, in this song.

*WINDY DAY* by *OH MY GIRL* is a masterpiece of kpop for me, that intro is one of my all-time favorite ever.
성공방정식에 따른 노래가 아닌 세상에 없던 장르를 개척한 음악이라 생각해서 참 아끼는 곡. 뮤비도 너무 천재적이야 뮤비 한 번 보고나면 윈디데이 들을 때마다 가사에 맞게 살랑이던 바람이 강풍으로 바뀌는 걸 체험하게 된다.
이걸 표현해 준 아티스트가 오마이걸이라 더 좋다
옴걸 그냥 그 세대 흔한 걸리쉬 아이돌 그룹이라고 생각하고 노래 떠도 이젠 뭐 .. 팬덤싸움이니깐 하고 듣지도 않았는데 진짜 노래 하나하나가 다 옴걸 느낌나고 주옥같네요. 퀸덤에서도 너무 호감이고 더 성공했으면 좋겠어요.

Came her because I'm currently watching queendom, and the composition of this song just blows me. This is literally a mini Bohemian Rhapsody. Lots of things clashing that normally would ruin the song, but they just add perfectly together.
Oh My Girl is the only group that makes me appreciate these type of music, since I'm usually more into EDM and pop music. Oh My Girl just does it differently, I'm so glad I'm no longer sleeping on them, and others better learn sooner not to.

I love them so much. Oh My Girl and Red Velvet are like a fresh breath (or Fresh wind in this case) of air! This song is so unique! Unfortunately Korea might ignore this release just like they did with their massive Bop Liar Liar. But no matter what this song is ridiculously good!

Does anyone else feel like Oh My Girl is the new generation's f(x)? Catchy yet experimental music, creative choreo, slightly bizarre yet beautiful concepts, gorgeous visuals, a seriously underrated main vocal, and generally well rounded members. Plus they're taking a little while to catch on with the public, just like f(x) did.

Imitationist yes I mean musically experimental not necessarily conceptually experimental. Though I would say that Windy Day and Closer are't simply cute/innocent concepts. They're a little weirder and more ethereal than that. I agree that they aren't quite as experimental as f(x), but they seem to be veering down that path more than other 4th gen girl groups at the moment.

For some people saying the MV is creepy,actually,it has some meaning.
Some shots are just representing literally the feeling of being in love,just like a windy day,where you are invaded by a strong wind of emotions all at once(you feel confused,happy,anxious,nervous...)
But if you pay attention to Jiho´s scenes,you´ll see some symbology.First of all, she´s wearing red,the color of passion.Then,you see her walking through the woods trying to catch the deer, therefore being the hunter.But later, from 2:59 to 3:12,she actually becomes the deer herself(her antlers start growing,that´s why she scratches her head in the tree and later when she thinks she has seen the deer,a mirror appears,showing that the deer is actually her.)
Later,all the girls become deers!The deer is a symbol of innocence,grace and becoming highly sensitive to your surroundings.In this case,the girls are changing because they are in love.Legends say that,deers would often transform into women to avoid being caught.They were trying to run away from their hidden emotions,but eventually failing to and eventually falling in love.
I´m sure there´s more to it,but just to clarify some scenes :)

이거 인도인지 이집트 풍인지 부분에 추는 춤이 역동적이고 보기 좋은데.. 군생활할 때는 다시보기로 찾아볼 정도로 좋아했었음. 근데 뮤비엔 완전 살짝 밖에 안나오네 팔 휘두르고 앉았다 개다리로 일어나는게 완전 킬폰데. 노래는 논외임. 애초에 너무 좋기 때문에 알고 난 뒤로 재생목록 박제였거든.

MY THEORY:The song explains a kind of love that feels like a strong wind, just like when you get overwhelmed with emotions(you feel anxious,excited,afraid,happy...). The MV kind of portrays that fresh feeling. In all of OMG´s MVs there are a lot of interesting elements but in this one there are many symbols such as the deer, which portrays innocence. The girls represent the deer, an innocent animal, that gets easily scared.In this video there´s a hunter(love) trying to hunt the deer( our ladies ) as you can see in 3:42 , and they constantly try to escape the trap but can´t help falling in love( As you can see in 1:22 Jiho tries to capture the deer, but she then understands that SHE IS THE DEER, when in 3:02 she scratches her head because her deer anthlers are growing, and while trying to find the deer she finds a mirror, 3:12 , meaning that the deer is really her.

I had gathered the relationship between a windy day and the emotions the girls were feeling for someone they liked ("emotions that I had buried into a corner of my heart / have awakened from their deep sleep") but I had never thought too much about Jiho's antler part. :O
I also love the way they drew symbolic elements from the "Closer" music video for this one, such as the deer to represent their innocence in the face of love. I hope they continue with this type of concept in the future ^^

I just can’t understand how Oh My Girl didn’t make it to MAMA. Like, I get it, they’re not as popular as TWICE or Black Pink, but aren’t that unknown either. They released such good songs this year, Windy Day had such a fun and complicated choreography and honestly I feel so bad because they have worked so hard in despite of JinE and Binnie’s health contition, and Seunghee’s very short hiatus. They deserve way better.
