Just moved here in 2019 and only hunted last year alone in 36A by Airvaca, I had an October rifle draw tag for mule deer had a great time, not use to the hot weather coming from Alaska.
I didn't get a rifle draw tag this year, I do have over the counter 2023 archery tag, don't mind the hard work I just want to get some meat.
You covered 36A,B,&C hunting alone 36A seems like the best place for one person any ideas where I should start? Any help would be appreciated.

back in the day 36a on caterpillar test grounds was the best monster coues deer hunting in the usa

36C is a good lion unit too.
It's great lion country Matt the lion hunter has been limited by gandf and now it's out of control and coyotes are bad in the 70s there were 7 of us that would spend one weekend per month calling them in and of corse t h e party was on we would end up with an average of 25 dogs and I don't hunt anymore and nobody keeps them in check so between the lions and dogs it gas the mule deer population down pretty hard thet have cut one mule deer hunt completely a n d cut the buck kill for archery to 5 bucks only its sad to see the az g&f can't manage much properly properly there money hungry shame on them
36a north, obligatory shout out, the Navarro ranch guy is not very friendly.
iv'e hunted those 3 units for 50 years 36b head up towards ruby very good coues deer hunting and 36a hunt the far north side and you will see some very nice bucks and 36c the best hunt is king anval huntb salano canyon it's a locked gate but well worth the hike in just remember to follow the ranch rules or get kicked off the property i could go on and on about each uniut if you draw for 36c hit me up i can tell you exactly where to hunt if you draw for the other two units i can tell you where to hunt as well however i wouldn't hunt 36a to many illegals travel through the unit and is littered with trash water bolttles and back packs there are some really good spots in 36b that can be traveled by road to get to you just have to know how to get to them and carries some nice bucks.

My wife and i got drawn for 36C first time hunting the unit for coues. Any recommendations to glass/ hit up? Any help is appreciated.
@0991sirhc1 and by the way to camp on the ranch property is pretty safe as not a lot of illegals go or travel through the area but I always have a pistol or two juuuuuust in case
@0991sirhc1 there's a nice mountain to sit and glass the road you turn to camp if you keep going on either the upper or lower road will take you to the back of the property and if you go to the back you will come to a y in the road go towards right of which goes down hill whe n you get to the bottom of the hill you will c ome into a big wash that looks like a road turn left and follow it until it dead ends park there and you will see a gate just west of where you park there's a mountain due south that sits on its own you can go to the top of it on the south side and glass the northern canyons .

LOTS of foot traffic…and not the right kind!!! Be careful out there and mindful of people who don’t look like they r hunting!
Agreed. I hunt on the TO rez and there are lots of illegals and even the border control can be a hassle

The Navarro guy is a bully and if you find him unfriendly you should meet sweet sister Barbara,a real witch in my option.they have been put on notice they could lose their grazing writes for harassment of hunters.if you are harassed call game and fish.

dan king shot the non typical record and got it taken away because it was proven he shot it out of seasoin his hunting buddt at the time turned him in because they made a deal that he was to shoot that deer but dan got a little greedy but his buddy took the second biggest deer from the same herd and can you believe the g and f let dan have an outfitter lic just shows how money hungry they are .i have the vcr tape of the hunt its a nice buck.
