COMING TO USA PUBLIC TV: Michael Flatley's Lord of the Dance -- Feet of Flames: The Impossible Tour

- Michael Flatley's Lord of the Dance is returning to public television in the USA with the Feet of Flames Impossible Tour!
In 1996, American audiences were first introduced to Lord of the Dance via public TV a full year before the show touched down on American shores for the first time. A quarter of a century later, history is poised to repeat itself, as Michael Flatley's legendary billion-dollar dance show returns to American public television stations with a new generation of the greatest Irish dancers in the world -- and a new Lord of the Dance.
Why is it called the Impossible Tour?
* A stadium tour at the height of the global pandemic after nine months of lockdown inactivity
* A troupe of over 90 performers, more than fifty-percent brand new
* Two weeks of mandatory individual quarantine in hotel rooms prior to touring
* Barely two-and-a-half days of group rehearsal, only one of which was on the actual stage set
* Camera crew for one night only
The odds against success were astronomical -- but Lord of the Dance is the biggest-selling dance show of all time, and for Team Lord, the impossible is merely difficult. This video, deliberately shot and edited in such a way to be a spiritual successor to David Mallet's legendary OG 1996 video, captures the raw one-night-only magic of the greatest team of dancers in the world rocking a 15,000-seat stadium in the face of impossible odds.

And when are you guys actually planning to do a US tour? All the upcoming tours listed on your website are in Europe.
Probably not for a very long time if ever. The venue's in America are greedy and demand too much of the profit. Even Celtic Woman and Riverdance only book small shows because not enough tickets are sold. The tickets are very expensive and everything related to the show (hotel, airline tickets, food, transportation) and the cost of venue (stadium, theater etc) are extremely overpriced. The actual show makes approximately 30-40% of the ticket sales and that's barely enough to pay the performers, leaving almost no profit for the owner of the show.
