    Love the fall chatterbait bite, can't beat the action of the Jackhammer either. I don't usually fish that heavy of a CB but I'll have to give it a try.

    Hey I'm just getting into chatterbaits & new to MN & fishing clear water. My question is what is a good color to use in MN clear waters , what color is best for sunny days & cloudy days. Especially during this fall transition? I fish mainly frogs.. thank you in advance for both this video & any feed back you have for me..

    • @Wired2Fish

      Hi Lucky Lucky, glad you're getting after it! My personal opinion is that color isn't that big of a factor in MN. I've had excellent success on a range of colors but have personally adopted Green Pumpkin as a good standard, given its universal reputation as a natural and productive color across various baits (especially plastics). But color is fun to play with, so I do like sprinkling in some chartreuse, so The BHite Delight in the ChatterBait JackHammer series gets worked in too. Black/Blue has been a producer, too, in a darker shade.
      So in summary, I'd recommend starting with natural greens (Green Pumpkin) to build confidence. After building a good base of how and when to fish the bait, I'd then begin experimenting with different colors. Good luck, and thanks for the conversation - Ryan

      @@Wired2Fish thank you Ryan for all the good information you give us.. I have one more question , at the $200 price point what is a good 7ft glass rod for all round fishing & froggin, chatter baits, that my main fishing technique for the moment.. I don't understand glass rods vs graphite rods.. I looked at a few Dobbyns rods. But I am still stuck between glass & graphite rod.. at the moment I am using a green go to rod by Googan Squad & it's been catching huge bass & pike with no issues.. thank you again Brotha..

    How do u do this from the bank without a fish finder

    • @jamesh7469
      @jamesh7469 3 года назад +1

      Well basically you don’t. Going super heavy from the bank basically guarantees you’ll get hung up and break off your $15 chatterbait. I’d use either 3/8 or 1/2 oz depending on your depth, and then try a chatterbait freedom or put your own blades onto a trashmaster jig so youll be able to texas rig the chatterbait.
      Either tbat or be prepared to lose a lot of lures

    Maybe it is me: but with all the production that goes into these videos, spend 12 seconds showing casting angles with regard to and electronics. For me, I can't see what angles when you pan on a video screen....

      Wow, what part of the country are you throwing your CBs? Here in the mid-Atlantic for me that seemed the only thing that got bit this past summer, especially jackhammer or thunder cricket with either a BG or shad trailer. Senkos on the other hand were wasted on me.

      Use a jackhammer. I had never used a chatterbait until this year and I caught most of my fish on one this year. I couldn't put it down. I've caught fish on a lot of different lures this year that I never had before. Just got to keep trying.
