Hi! I just found one of these players at a local resale shop, and this video cleared up some doubts I had about it, but my player didn't include the manual... and I have no idea how to turn on the HDMI output on this. Would you please check if the manual mentions how to do that? If I plug the device to a TV it only shows me a black screen, no video output. The RCA output works for some reason (and if I use it with the HDMI plugged in I get no sound, which is weird.)
    Thanks!

That's awesome! Unfortunately, I ended up returning the item because I found a portable blu-ray player instead 😔 From what I recall, I connected it just using an HDMI cable. Maybe try swapping out the HDMI cable for another one in case that's causing the issue? Other than that, maybe it's possible to find the manual online. It's called Maite Mini DVD Player.

@@manicmediadream So, funny thing. I tried two different high quality cables to test this on my TV / PC monitor, none worked. So I dug up some very old cables I used to use in the past... and those worked fine.
The difference is that the two good cables I used were 6 feet long, and the one I fished out was 2.5 feet. Just to make sure, I unplugged this working cable, put the other ones in, and nope. Same issue as before, enough of a signal is sent but the monitor doesn't do anything. (Also the player speaker turned on when I unplugged the HDMI, it spooked me!)
So, go figure. That's an incredibly weird thing to happen, but you helped me figure it out, so thank you. :D

The image looks flat because you have it set to the wrong aspect ratio, you are playing 4:3 content on a 16:9 screen, you either have to set your DVD player to 16:9 output, or select 4:3 aspect on your TV.

Yeah the odd thing was, the 4:3 option was greyed out for some reason. I’m not sure if I found it in the settings for the device or on the TV, but I was so confused why it wouldn’t let me change the aspect ratio 😞

More than likely the DVD player only allows choosing whatever the DVD itself is presenting to it. So you have to manually switch it on the TV.

I unbox DVDs and Blu Rays, it only seemed fair I’d unbox a DVD player 😅 It was so much fun!
