We should not consider this as a legitimate Supreme Court Ruling. First, Thomas and Alito should have recused themselves. Second, the plain text of the Constitution states that a President can be prosecuted for Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors. We need the President and members of the Senate to stand firm and say this is an illegitimate ruling. The Supreme Court is not empowered to create new law or to alter the Constitution with one of their decision.

for 7 decades the germans had to suffer from Americans pointing their finger at them for what happened in the 1930s. My parents were German children suffering in the war and for all of their life never were able to talk about their own trauma because they were made to feel ashamed. I’m 100% sure she would have never voted for Roe v Wade to be overturned and the women’s rights regarding pregnancy’s and abortion rights to be taken away either. I thought the Supreme Courts duty was to interpret the Constitution, NOT rewrite it. They have no authority to change The Constitution therefore their Ruling is moot

Article 2 all Executuve Authority is vested in 1 President.
That means the President is the only one that gets to determine when and the reasons to use the authority for official acts.
This has been our system since the Constitution was signed.

ive checked out of this urine soaked debate about whether biden is fit or not, hes proven it day in and out. The debate was a red herring, an unaccountable freak show in which it was basically a set up to find a way to generate content about Biden. I'm not a Joe Biden Fanboy or even a democratic party fanboy, but it could not be more obvious to me that the media is acting as the gatekeepers to having a rational convo about this.
The people whove been saying hes too old for awhile have either been intentionally lying , such as the fox /right wing , and the institution that seems just as broken as all the ones they report on, the MSM whos supposedly liberal, continue to profiteer and encourage the bad faith discussions.
Joe Biden being too old wouldnt be a talking point if the media had addressed it honestly when it came up, but its a totall fallacy that up until that point , biden was fine but a 9pm TV event with a prolific and practiced liar, in which the supposedly "liberal" moderators not only didnt stop any of the dozens of totally imagined things Trump said, and basically left Biden out to dry, blindsided that he had agreed to this, and to be fair to him, he actually pulled it together somewhat as the night went on. The headline was set in the first 10 minutes though, which is more of a commentary on our culture and the media than it is on Biden. I'm extremely angry at all the know it alls who went into instant panic mode without even pausing to analyze the context in which the "debate" happened.
I think it's extremely short sighted and cowardly to replace Biden because of 90 minutes, when 3 months ago everyone was wacking it to his state of the union speech. The media is extremely unbalanced in how they judge each side, and their financial interest makes them inherently have a conflict of interest when it comes ot covering elections. Theres no historical precedent for replacing a candidate this late for a perceived reason where the perception was allmost entirely created by the media in the first place, Biden's not a great debater but I don't think he could have anticipated that CNN would abdicate their journalistic respoonsibility. If you wanna say Biden has bad judgement for doing the debate, fine, but I refuse to go along with the herd i nthinking that it matters in the long run or truly shows the Biden has any kind of concern about decline.
We should be questioning everything but Biden , including ourselves and how easily we're tricked and set up to be tricked. Biden is probably the most known quantity in this entire process, abandoning him right now seems like both a mistake in the sense that he knows how to do the god damn job, and there is 0 historical precedent for a successful replacement and cotninued talk about it is going to have a similar effect to 2016. I get shaking mad watching the same mistakes getting repeated right in front of our eyes, and how we're letting false perceptions from people who typically don't know enough to comment, decide what we're going to do. But i digress.
If they do or dont replace Biden, I hope people still do the thing tha tneeds to be done. I'm one of the more optimistic observers of this, and in the last week between SCOTUS and the debate reaction, I've never been more concerned that we're blowing this. It shows a total lack of faith and conviction, it will kill morale, and that is the entire aim of the christofascists to make their takeover easier. To see people who I assume know better fall over so fast is like signing up for the military and watching your CO running for an evac at the first sign of danger in a combat zone, its weak looking and it makes any of the grounds in which I believed in the pro democracy movement, shakier now. Im obviously still with the movement , in fact its the only god damn thing i care about. But we need to snap the fuck out of it and stop cowering and overreacting to things. Rick Wilson's post debate message was one of the best, i liked newsom and shapiros also, and lawrence o donnell.
I had to shut off most of hte other ones because it was just too angering to watch people that I assumed had at least some ability to curb their impuslive instincts, The Builwark, MSNBC republicans especially, just totally ripping away the platform they had to stand on as far as my view of them goes. People don't seem to understand the stakes, or the options available, the pro's and con's of every move they're making, and we're not talking WITH each other we're talking at each other and letting hive mind take over, and also letting propaganda from the right affect what we think. It's truly depressing, and once again, I'm usually the most optimistic out of anyone I know about all of this.

One of the things that I love about both of you is I feel like I'm having a conversation with a brother and a sister when you talk. I love that Popok has a lot of hope for the future whereas I feel a lot more frightened like Karen. I despise Trump. He has no conscience, none, and human being without conscience can do so much evil. I'm not a religious man, but I've been listening to the television series called "The Chosen" and I do believe that we are all engaged in a much larger and more magical battle between good and evil than we can imagine. It’s time to expand the court and overturn these terrible rulings. The house will never get a 2/3 majority to impeach Thomas and Alito. Expand the court with progressives even though the court isn’t supposed to be partisan, they changed that and we are playing by their rules now.

I actually feel sorry for President Biden. He must be so tired of hearing about all the distrust so many seem to have about him after the debate. The man was sick with a cold and not feeling 100% that night. The Biden camp notified CNN in advance about it but they failed to tell the American people about it at any point during the debate. Not to mention that he was debating a lying lunatic. A man who has also been saying trash about his son who was just on trial at the same time he was in France for the D-Day memorial ceremony. Some people even made fun of Dr. Jill Biden for being at her son’s trial. Imagine that a mother giving a damn about her grown son! At she was there. Can’t say the same for Trump’s wife showing up for his trial for even one day! So the man has been going nonstop for a few days in a row . Then also doing rallies in different states too. I can’t imagine the weight he’s carrying on his shoulders and yet he’s not complaining or making excuses for it. He’s just moving forward and trying to get this country back to a better place. Unfortunately the Supreme Court has really screwed up everything for everyone now not just President Biden.

Doesn't the constitution override the bogus ruling by a Supreme Court apointed by a traitor to excuse his participation in an insurrection. And as the constitution states immunity only applies to official acts representing the American citizens while in office. None of his covictions came while he was in office! Under the constitution leading an insurrection is grounds for removal from office. The SCOTUS failing to do their duty and honor their oath of office should be impeached. The congress has a sworn duty to uphold and protect the constitution, not defend a traitorous subversive who happened to be president for 4 years of chaos.

Joseph Morelle of N.Y. is proposing a Constitutional Amendment that will specifically state that no one, not even the President, is immune from criminal prosecution. If we get enough Dems into office, and non-MAGARepublicans with integrity, these actions could work. We really have to vote Blue.
