What's more is the game is frustrating, it's not even a fun game anymore. I quit playing it, I play like maybe 1-2-3 games a day at max, I can see myself completely stopping it.

They nerfed membership benefits but never add new holowears for ticket exchange shop.
or cycle them out! Holowear that came out ages ago should be on a cycle, after so much time has passed that holowear should go on sale. Or have like a holowear of the month type deal. So many ways to incorporate the tickets!

The gems goes from 1200 to 900 gems a month. Still valuable relative to regular purchases BUT in Unite economics, that goes from being able to buy a decent skin to being short by 100+ or 300+ gems.

I'm surprised they don't just give you existing holo in the form of reskins instead of just removing holos entirely.
Energy exanges will never Update the Fashion Side. new Emblems Sure, cause u can use coins to have Chance of upgrading them.
But the whole clothing and skin Stuff will never BE Updatet. Just Like the holowear and Fashionticket Stuff that never changed.
No new energy rewards, no new items for fashion tickets, no new emblems, no new maps, no full heal buff, no cc/stun balance patch, no method of selling limited pokemon licenses, no ranked system update, no incentive to keep on playing if you own every Pokémon, no new held items, no new battle items, no real reward for grinding past masters 1200, no tutorial update, no player level cap increase, and no real way of communicating with the Devs besides Twitter (if you have clout).
They're going to lose a lot of memberships because of dropping the holowear, and I don't think they're going to make that dip back in sales of gems or whatever it is they've calculated.
I've had the membership as long as I can remember but I will definitely drop it now. Honestly we should all drop it to show them with our wallets that we don't like this decision.
I don't want to pay $30 for yet another pass with nothing on it

Timi messing with something that shouldn't have been messed with in the first place is disappointing.
I have had a membership for a couple months. It renewed yesterday for the month of August. But after that I won't be purchasing it. The free gems are nice but the holowear was the big selling point for me and many others.
Maybe if enough people cancel their memberships, they'll get the hint and change it back. That's a big maybe though.
They could have kept it 40 and the extra benefits would have drawn in more customers
As a day one player that’s bought every bp ever, I love how they made the free 10x pulls from the prize event not on the pool that actually has the Zard move effects. I literally I can’t use the free daily pulls because I already have everything from the Delphox prize pool 🥴
Exactly my situation.
To make things worse, the Charizard skin came without move effects. So the move effects on the pulls are the moves that were supposed to come with the BP and people are not realizing that.

@@ernestoh9389 I can assure you my gardevoir battle pass skin came with move effects. The moves were blue, by the way, it was way before move effects coming separately. Recently, additional move effects came with the Gatcha machine for this same skin (with the 10free pulls, I got it), and Now that whit dress skin for gardevoir has 2 different set of move effects to equip.
If they updated the rewards In the fashion part of the energy exchange it would be worth it. But I don't think they ever will till the day the game dies.

I'm guessing there's a bit of gem inflation happening in the game. Slow releases of gem worthy purchase (pokemon/holowear) has people sitting on a ton of gems. So now they need to slow the flow and up the release cadence to make people tempted to buy the pass and bulk gems again.
That's their own fault

Yeah, that IS a LOT of energy pulls. Potentially lots of coins for people too even without new stuff but I hope this means new stuff in there. Gems are unaccusable, should be 40 still. I am a bit excited about the backgrounds though - I enjoy customizing my trainer card and collecting all the BGs I can. And.. if they still make cool holowears to stick in the mini-passes it gives me the choice if I wanna go for one or not since sometimes the membership holowear was something I never play or have. I have to keep the thing though because I need to save my replays to record later.

I find it funny that they would do this. It’s just going to reduce the number of people who pay for it… like that’s just a lose lose all around…
The major problem about the pulls even for a newer players, they have a max cap of 29th total 30th if you consider the free one.
When you are so far ahead into the game, this energy system doesnt offer you anything anymore and doing it only for coins is pointless because coins is a FREE currency.

It's an odd decision. I think the logic behind this is that the 1200 gems a month resulted in fewer direct gem purchases, and they think this will get more direct gem purchases? Which I sincerely doubt. I always assumed that the membership never was meant to appeal to the big spenders who get the premium skins, but rather to the frequent players who are willing to spend a little bit so they could still get a tangible benefit (being able to say, buy the battle passes) while also keeping them playing the game with the cumulative count only going up to 5 days' worth of gems.
I fall into that camp, myself. I bought the membership every 2 months or so, just enough to buy every battle pass or if I really liked that month's membership skin. I do not see myself getting this new membership though, and I also am not very willing to buy *every* battle pass through that now, either. :/ And it certainly does not incentivize me to buy the premium skins either lol.
I think it resulting in fewer gem purchases is certainly part of it, but I also feel like this might backfire in the end. They'll definitely lose some memberships to this change, but I doubt it will do anything to make them walk back this decision in any way. It's almost like they are trying to appeal to players who haven't even playing for a long time. Which is a very weird thing to do to the players who have played consistently for years now. This decision coming off the tail introduction of the consecutive login rewards stort of stinks too but this ultimately feels like they're just giving the players less for for the same price and that's where they lost me. Lol just a whole feels bad decision.
exactly my case, and many others i guess, this will hurt pokemon very bad, i wont be buying anymore gems or membership, the gems i got left i will spend in battle passes very selected, it doesnt matter if i miss 2 or 3 battle passes if isnt good enough ill pass

personally the skins were a big part of it for me as it was the main cheap way that I could get cosmetics for lots of pokemon

Pokemon unite is for consumers not players. The devs dont care about matchmaking, power balance, or player experience to say a few. The only thing that matters is monetization. This game is dying due to disconnected corporate greed. They do not care

Up to this point, any changes inside Pokemon Unite is irrelevant and making no sense to players. I don't expect anything good happening.
Look, I’m not “upset” upset, but the Membership was the only way I used to take part into monetization.
I used to get it only if I liked the free Holowears: for 10€ I got 2 free skins + enough gems to buy two Battle Passes. It made sense to me: basically 4 skins (one of which was purple) for 10€.
Now that’s gone, you get only enough gems for one battle pass and maybe some gems lefts to purchase a cheap green skin from the store, so the value isn’t there anymore.
I don’t think I’ll spend money on this game anymore

The final point is the best point. This is the feeling right now, it’s not about all the successes prior to this, it’s about how bad this change feels to those that used it and what a obvious misstep it is at least with the context given. Especially considering these are customers, not players.
They needed to “balance” it. Probably too much good update😂

I started playing again during Worlds last year and I've really liked the subscription. Since I'm still kinda getting caught up on emblems, I have to make the decision on whether to spend coins there or on licenses. Having these gems made it feel fine to spend coins on emblems because I could still steadily catch up on licenses using the gems. I had enough to get Battle Passes and still grab a license every once in a while. It looks like this isn't going to be a viable way to tackle the incoming content anymore, though. :(
I enjoy the fashion items a LITTLE, but don't care at all about stickers/snapshot backgrounds/frames. Holowear and gems were like 98% of the value I got out of the subscription and those are getting nuked. Will be ending my subscription when this goes live.
The Rank protections hurt the Most. I think i dont will continue paying for the membership. Besides the Rank Protection there is only crap in it. And i already have all Pokémon
I may not get the membership at all, but I wouldn't mind the changes if it was just losing the monthly holowear. They were neat but I don't recall them having many visual effects like some of the others. Losing 10 gems a day hurts. As for the increase in daily energy spins the only way this currently helps is to get more gold emblems you might not have. I hope they add more things (perhaps existing outfits into the pool at least), but I think the only reason they aren't adding more emblems yet is to make sure they're diverse in stats compared to the existing ones. Even then I wouldn't mind duplicate stat value ones cause then it means you could stack ones that actually compliment the Pokemon we play.
I think they changed the monthly shop rank protection card limit from 3 to 5. So, they basically took the protection cards from the membership and transferred them there. Not that it's the biggest part of this, but just something I noticed.
Regardless, will be cancelling. The holowear plus gem value was the draw. Although the value is still there, it's lower and have enough gems saved up to buy probably a year of battle passes which is all I buy with gems anyway. And TBH, even battle passes lose value because all of the cool rewards get added to the gacha machine in anniversaries and stuff that I can't use because I bought all the battle passes. Think the play is to cancel the membership and maybe even avoid battle passes at this point.

NOT only they reducing the gems count about the membership thats is so BAD for both type players, but the 10 energy pull system is so useless for players that played the game since the game started. Its a thing that benefit more newer players rather than keeping old players (tbf is a genius move because i feel like people that are playing unite its unlikely to quit it).
The newer hollower is the same thing (even i think this change is more impactful for newer players rather older players).
THIS CHANGE WOULD MAKE SENSE IF THEY GONNA UPDATE THE ENERGY SYSTEM MACHINE. If they didnt do that the 10 energy pull muchine is worthless and you paying gems for more cost simple is that.
I still think the only 3 positive thing about this anniversary are:
1) the 50% discount shop
2) the 50% discount ticket for anything you want (hollower is the way to go of course).
3) The meta is fun to play (except if there isnt ho-oh, i hate to be paired against duo/trio against... fortunally draft is there). I dont think is a bad anniversary BUT i think they should give much cooler rewards like a free purple hollower like the cinderace BP hollower.
The free rewards are terrible, 2nd anniversary was way better than this one with the downside of mewtwo (both) to be busted on release and unfun to play.
What this would change for the future on unite? I would probably say nothing because people that love unite they would still buy the membership, the comunitity would be punished because they let get away from this.
BUT the saddest part abou this anniversary WILL STILL HAVE ONLY ONE FUCKING MAP IN RANKED!!! Is pokemon, cant they at least trying to program a new map, they would be so good for everybody, casual, F2P, competitive, that would increase SO MUCH the hype for the game. Its so SAD, when you doing an anniversary you want new people to playing the game and stay on the game. Getting people into a new game is possible but keep it is the tough part and this is a game that would have ALWAYS the same beloved player base because they dont improve the game much and with this membership they SAID:

For me this developers doesnt understand how this game function for a basic user but only from a company prospective. This tells so much about the creators about a game.
I HATE SO MUCH THE DEVELOPERS OF UNITE while I LOVE THE DEVELOPERS ABOUT POKEMON MASTERS EX on how creative and smart they are, and how they listen to the comunity.
At the end part of this fault is because the game isnt great, is because of THE COMUNITY (literally us).

I dont think i would play unite after settember. I tryed to support them by buying some hollowers hopefully they would change things because isnt ok like that, the game experience feel the same, the grind isnt worth it because rewards are awful same things.
I'm wondering what theyll give back when the surveys come back negative and people drop memberships. Usually companies pull this remove a lot to give back some mechanic. I imagine they give us back the holowear, but keep the daily gem reduction.
While the aeos gems cut back by 10 is rough, and dumb at best, the rest, will have to wait and see. The holowear is neat and was half the reason I bought it the few times I personally did, but the change to 10 daily free exchanges will severely depend on them actually updating the energy rewards, and hopefully fashion/holowear ticket exchanges alongside it.
Honestly, just more Emblems would be great if it stays in line with their types, so that we could get more combos available.
Hi Spragels, i don't know if it's related but the Chinese beta test will end next month. There will be an announcement at the end of August (the main content could be the launch schedule for the Chinese version).

The membership is 100% their single biggest moneymaker, giving a reason for people to CANCEL their membership is absolutely ridiculous. There’s no defence for this, no one can defend it. I really hope the majority of people cancel their membership next month and they realise how stupid this decision was and revert it

100% agreed with all your points. This was such a bad decision. The way how this would affect long term supportive players like us. I'm on it mostly for the holowear and daily gems. Now that these are cut down, I'm definitely going to cancel my membership.

the cost of gems compared to the value you get from them is pretty high. Like, you could easily spend a lot of money on gems and not really get much out of it. I may just be too used to console games where you pay the $60 bucks for the game and get most of the content with the game. You could spend $60 on this game and not even get more than a few characters and one holowear.
I have every single emblem, in all possible tiers, i also have every single item in the fashion side of energy draws, so the draws are 100% useless to me, regardless, its disgusting that they are trying to entice you by offering you stuff you get for FREE just by playing, for money….
On the note of being useless, I also have over 3000 fashion tickets, and over 1000 holowear tickets, which they still give away mind you, but havent had anything i can use them on (because I have everything you can use them on) for literal years….. and the game is only 3 years old….
They really REALLY dont like giving stuff away for free, and while thats somewhat ok, it is a company after all, but the sheer audacity of charging money for stuff you already get for free, and giving you stuff you cant actually use, boggles my mind.
Can you talk about how the anniversary balls are literally useless to committed players who have probably already obtained all the items of that pass and is again geared more towards new players. They also can’t even be used to obtain the charizard skill skin. Like we got reduced aeos gems and we still have to use gems to get the good stuff idk I just feel like they are leaving us long term players in the dust.
Hopefully it means more emblems after worlds or something I see the appeal for new players
It honestly makes me want to cancel it. 40 to 30 is annoying. Losing rank cards is REALLY annoying. Not even getting a holowear makes it really not worth it.
Whether or not I liked the monthly skins were the deciding factor for me to buy the membership for a month or not. Now that that's gone, I can't see me buying it ever again.

I think I'll give it September to see what the changes are like, but losing 10 gems and the monthly holowear (plus the rank cards for when you have dumb teammates constantly just before ranking up to master; seriously this has happened to me way too many times and it's annoying), you're really losing the best values from the membership in the first place. And if the energy thing doesn't get updated with new stuff, then the no cost pulls won't be worth paying for in the long run. This is probably the most disappointing update I've seen. Way to screw over your paying players, Unite.
This was happenimg anyway i bought every mon with aeos coins or saving the pass gems which i would use to buy the season ladder pass and the best new metta mon.

Most of the revenue likely comes from this so I don't see why they would change this negatively for their consumers.
It has better value than outright buying gems and a lot of players probably only spend when there's a sale, on the unite machine, and occasionally for new stuff after saving.
I don't mind if they're catering to newer players and removing the holowears for energy but lowering the gems feels a bit unnecessary and to me is a questionable decision that likely may backfire imo

I always kinda hated the membership concept for the strategy behind it, and now it seems like they're just kinda saying "give us money and we'll just siphon some of mommy's milk to you every once in a while just to remind you that you're actually paying for something."

If it didn't already feel like a way to chain players to their game so that they feel they NEED to get what they're paying for or they're being stupid, now it's abundantly clear that this is the only purpose of the membership.
It might technically be good value relative to the money you spend on it, but it's not good value relative to the time you need to invest, and it's insulting given that this is how they treat loyalty.

Yeah im done with the membership ones this happens 1 step front and 1 step back. Kinda of feels like they want more money from us I hope everyone drops it and they makes it better!
These changes do not make any sense and I don't see how they possibly gain anything from this, because no one's gonna want this new membership and they're just gonna make less money with it, straight up.
Imo it's not worth buying gems on this game unless they are on discount, or you're getting them through the membership. And I'm sure most people won't even bother with the membership after this, out of principle. Most of the paid holowear is insanely expensive, which is fine if you want a few whales to support the game, but I'm sure they'd make more money overall if things were more affordable. I'm more than happy to drop £5-10 here and there on a game for cosmetics in the form of a pass, but £20-40 for a skin? That's not happening, no matter how much disposable income I have.
I just don't get why the devs seem so set on antagonising and alienating their playerbase at almost every step. It's sad to see a game with such great potential be mismanaged for so long, and damaged almost every time they touch it.
While it is still a cost benefit I will still cancel because of principles, I have been spending money consistently since the game was released and now its time to be free to play

They did say what they would do with them, that is getting rid of them to make those mons more balanced. Though, tbh, for Zacian specifically, it feels like it's been already fixed enough, Zacian is much more manageable than Mewtwo or Ho-oh for example (and to think that I thought Goodra was unkillable, what a joke it was)

I was surprised by how many people were apparently subscribed to the membership on your other video. I hate that Unite added a subscription on top of its monetization. MMOs having a subscription make more sense to me since content can feel endless at times and they're constantly making more, whereas Unite will give you a mediocre balance patch a month if you're lucky.
I was excited for a patch on overtuned mons, but no... It's just TiMi eager to lose tons of membership subs. But I am happy about the lag fix. And they didnt say anything aboutnnew emblems so idk where that came from

I slowed down on playing unite when miraidon came out since he came out They fix in game freezing but no matter what switch I play on how many times uninstall or reinstall it freezes on the loading screen after the start menu. Give use more to spend our holoware and aeos tickets on. They just up forgot and neglected the holoware ticket shop. Just delete it or put the low quality stuff in the there the vizir outfits maybe the summer dresses. I would rather they delete that ticket system rather then have the 6000 aeos tickets I'll never get to use Or the 2000 holowear tickets that don't have a purpose anymore.
Already canceled my renewal for next month.. bet there's a bunch more too

Tbh, the Holowear of the Month was one of the things I liked most about the Membership. There's nothing really appealing to me, especially after the gem nerf.
