The High focus label is mostly UK hip hop not grime. Dead Players are considered UK hip hop I would say. Piggy is just a reference to police not a piggy bank, he has drink he didn't pay for and offers the copper a cigarette while he's dress as a classic bank robber 😛 too funny! Kids sniffing all the trank (tranquiliser) with fucked up bladders is about ketamine, which can fuck up you bladder and was rife at the time (and still is) in London, Brighton and Bristol where loads of High Focus artists are from. Can't believe I've become a RUclips commentor, but I couldn't help it as this is up there as one of my favourite choons of all times, plus I appreciate you checking out UK rapping from across the pond . We get loadsa US Hip Hop here (which is wikid) but I'm sure loadsa good UK shit doesn't get heard over your way bro. Glad you vibed the accordion! ha ha ha
Let me know if you need a translation 😅 you stopped on a point where Jam Baxter says "all I've seen is a whole bunch of kids with assorted dreams, and bare bad manners and a fucked up bladder cuz theyve sbiffed all the tranq, lets applaud them pleasr (naaah)" which is referring to the fact the british youth is lost right now, nobody knows wtf they wanna do, they have bo respect for their elders, no manners and ketamine (tranq) was the drug of choice when this was released, which lead to a lot of young people having bladder problems and pissing themselves.
grime is its own thing, it evolved from dance and club music basically instead of traditional hip hop roots. these days the lines are blurred somewhat as a lot of artists produce on drill style beats and styles have become a lot more merged but the basic rules of grime are 140 bpm using minimal instuments and 808s. if you check out uk 90's garage it will give you an idea of what grime evolved from and how it's a different beast from hip hop entirely.
Yeah, buzzing that you did this one. Jam and Dabbla who are two of the UKs best and ghost town on products.. just a banger.
Great reaction. I’ve seen this videos many times but you had me laughing my head off with you 😂
Sick reaction, love from UK!
