I don’t think Winter King is a dark inversion at all. I interpret it that it was Marceline’s death that led to Ice King becoming the Winter King. Considering Bubblegum is such a morally grey character-as you excellently talk about in another video-it’s more natural I think to read the Winter King as flawed but not a monster just PB is. Our Simon would prefer to think of the Winter King as evil as it’s more comfortable for him to imagine this than to imagine himself as a sane, mostly good ruler who also imposed his madness on a ruler who was also morally complex (though mostly good)-PB.
I can understand where you're coming from with viewing the Winter King as flawed, however, I still think he's a dark inversion because Simon is an incredibly sacrificial character. The Winter King forced his madness onto another person just so he could cope and at the same time abandoned the past, essentially, his connection to his humanity. this show is about Simon, and not Cake and Fionna. All those multiverse we have been, are in shape of what Simon choose to do... either to control the crown, to die to protect the planet from the litch bomb, or even for not using the crown and vampires control the world..." Oh but there is the litch universe where he died as Ice King"..right...but who came back 15y after with Fiona and Cake? Simon, who casually was teleported changing the future of our history. Also, Fiona and Cake were in his mind, his human thoughts brought her universe to a humanise version of the modern days, and in shape he molded her in is way kinda, especially with the Betty statue...im sure Prismo would not build himself for tge sake of nothing. Also Scarab ( the red cast chasing them) not only is red and shape like the jewels of the Ice Crown...when his human form is a guy with a pointy nose, blue hair and a few hair spikes...like a crown shape.... remember that he wants to overtake Prismo as a Wish master....and what was the power of the crown for ??? GRANT A WISH! It's also wild that Simon is such a powerful being of change...like the meteor that appear 1000y cycle... interesting no? But since he is out in the multiverse....could the actual boss of the universe...be him?
I really love that the simple romantic love story is set against a super high stake adventure. I think it really fits with the theme of Finding value in the world that you have. Even though there's nothing super cool and crazy going on. There's still a valuable story to be told. And seeing them come together is just as entertaining as the high-stakes vampire world. It kind of fits with the theme of learning to appreciate the world that Fiona has. That world still has value And can still be interesting.
I'm obsessed with Gumlee I wish they had 1 more episode before the kiss but I still loved it! And Bubbline this episode was so spicy, it broke my heart a bit to see them fighting like this but I'm glad to know they're happy in our universe
I just recently binged through all of adventure time so i would have the context for Fiona and Cake. The thing I adored about Marci and Pb is how natural the progression of their relationship is. It never felt forced, just 2 messed up people finding solace and healing in eachother.
Absolutely. They are better together, but incredibly fleshed out and great characters in their own right. It feels satisfying to learn more about their past and see how they've grown for the better.

Getting real into Fiona and Cake, Bubbline struck me as the first time I'd really digested this in fiction with queer characters. I wish this was more of a thing with every fiber of my being. i don't thimk there is a thiing as canon event or things and people that just are there ands shit its just difrent worlds with difrent vesion of our charackters soo don't overthink it
My thought on this is that Prismo created all these universes in order to help entertain himself. Writing fan-fic like Ice King but actually gets to see the stories play out without interfering and directing the "story". Basically, Prismo made "baby" universe to watch them grow, so to speak. He doesn't necessarily control the outcome of every moment of every universe he created. He just observes them. Not at all like Canon events and controlling them. Yeah, the higher ups see it all as something that needs to be fixed, but what if these universes don't need to be fixed or erased? Yeah, items or people crossing over into different universes can be seen as abnormal or out of place, but I think at the end of the story, all these universes will be set free. Touching on creative freedom. Free my boy Prismo!!!! 😂
So TJ I don't think that it was Prismo who made all the worlds. Obviously, he granted the wishes that created a lot of them, but I definitely think there were a lot of ones that existed before Prismo and so on. I'm very curious to eventually see 'The Boss' that we've been hearing about for such a long time, but I'm honestly not sure if we'll learn the full deal with it.
@Kev-D-OG Lol. I should have been more specific, but I felt like I was writing a huge paragraph. But yeah Kev. Youre right. Prismo created his own universes outside of what existed before he got his job, lol. I wonder if "the big boss" will be goofy or serious.
I mean that's been like completely smoothed over. The show talked about it multiple times and the two are genuine friends. I personally think the show went about it in a really mature way, especially after the Finn and Flame Princess romance.
@@Kev-D-OGthat’s also what kinda ruins for me that like Jake supposed to be Finn soulmate why are they treating it like huntress wizard is Finn romantic partner when it’s clear Finn and fp do have chemistry it’s honestly just making it seem like their love life is more of fates choice then their own choices to love someone which is yeah but is every Finn destined to be just flame princess way to be free and be in a relationship and due to Finn conflict emotions of still liking pb while dating fp and have the Cosmic owl being in his dreams to cause a relationship to ruin like that it feels so unfair and what fp destined to be alone and use cb as a emotional way to not feel single what the heck dude I want a relationship that is choice and something by my own decisions I don’t want love to be based on someone words i want it to be luck based

This is an amazing point! I love the way they contrasted the insanity vs the normalcy but still made both very interesting.
