Shabani, a silverback gorilla, loves his son Kiyomasa.
Kiyomasa also loves Shabani.
They don't play together as often as they used to, but their affection for each other has not changed.
On this day, it suddenly started to rain, so Kiyomasa, who was outside, hurried back inside.
And Shabani was waiting for Kiyomasa at the door.
When Kiyomasa returned, Shabani welcomed him happily.
Later, Shabani tried to mess with Nene, and Nene stared at him.
And Kiyomasa was very happy that Annie invited him to play with her.

Poor gorilla's need more room and natural surroundings. I really feel much sorrow for them. God did not and does not want his creatures to live like this. 😢

Alot of them were born into this situation and doesn't know much else and might not survive in the wild. I know that doesn't make things any better but it's true.
I totally agree with you..very upsetting to watch. could never go to a zoo. went once as a child .had a very profound affect on me

I was thinking the same thing, but this is not the United States where we make efforts to give them homes that are more like their own would have been.

Concrete is not their natural habitat. I feel bad for them. More trees, grass etc would be very nice ad well as a much larger area.

Because they have the very unfortunate experience of being in captivity in an Asian Zoo. Eastern European ones are like this as well. No Zoos!

I do like Zoo’s that make me 😞 sad. I stopped after an Elephant looked into my eyes and alll I saw was Sadness, I cried, never went back, I often think of that Elephant 💜 those Silverbacks do not live on concrete. They live far in mountains with great coverage of lush trees, & bushes. The amusement of humans so sad.

Such a shame we have to keep animals in a zoo😢, to protect them from poachers. We should give them better habitats than this, maybe a mini forest. People don't have to see animals in a zoo, we have animal programmes for that, on TV
If this bothers you why don't you consider supporting groups that protect Corollas in the wild since they're still being poached

I have a question ❓ If they were ever to release this group of gorillas to the wild would they survive? Also would they stay together all of them as a family? Would the other gorillas bother them? If they could survive and be fine I guarantee most people would say let them go! The joy to see them free eating freshly picked leaves and greens out there. To wake up on a forest floor of green to sleep under the stars to smell fresh clean air! I see the comments and I knew I could not have been the only one feeling like this for them.They look so bored and sad and those living quarters you have them in reminds me of mental hospitals I have seen on movies. That concrete everywhere and that old paint color is depressing.I would bet you that you could get a line of artists that would volunteer to come in and paint jungle scenes all over their enclosures just to say those murals at the zoo are mine! Then have some builders come donate their time maybe some college kids going for a degree in that field to come in and build some contraptions that they could climb and swing on, change them up give them some variety.I would be so depressed looking at those same walls everyday. It could be done it's not a money thing. Please help them out.
