As a Jamaican and an airline pilot in the US. If the pride of our nation, Air Jamaica was still in existence, I would definitely try to get a job there and head back home.
I had tears rolling down my cheeks when i look at that beauty in the sky , my grandma use to call it the beautiful iron bird of jamaica...God bless her beautiful soul...yes i travelled on air jamaica back to see family 70's 80's and 90's...the reception , the entertainment , not to forget the food and the beautiful imaculate ly dressed team aboard ...yes mis air jamaica , we wan't it back the only iron bird comes close to air jamaica is British air ways...but still nothing is like that beautiful bird in the sky like jamaican air line.....it is like kidnapping an infant from it's mother.....Bring it back.
I feel your pain. The only airline that I see coming close to air Jamaica 🇯🇲 🐦, is jetBlue 🇺🇸 🗽 🍎, seeing that they have an all-Airbus fleet, just like air Jamaica 🇯🇲 did in their prime (late 1990s-up to their ceasing operations).
Captain Carl Rhoden from Air Jamaica was laid to rest yesterday I hope I get to be a pilot like him some day he's always and will be a proud member of the family
As a former flight attendant with them, I cry when I see these...It was a GREAT JOB!!! Changed my life forever, for BETTER!!! :) :) The Memories man, THE MEMORIES!!! :D

I truly miss Air Jamaica 🇯🇲. I remember my final time flying on one before they went extinct, on Friday, March 30, 2001, onboard their Airbus A320, flying the Kingston to Grand Cayman route. Memories.
I'm so sad that Air Jamaica folded. Poorly managed, especially once the government took control of it again. I used to stand at the very end of the MBJ runway and just watch those beautiful planes come in right over my head. It was awesome to see so many Air J planes lined up at the gates at MBJ. So sad...
As someone who flew them back in 2002 to and from MBJ in their A320s. When they changed to Boeing and merged with Caribbean Airlines, it wasn't the same. Also, now the airport is modern with an upgraded terminal with jetways vs back then was dated and had stairs that you can only board the aircraft.
This was AJ at their absolute peak. Late 90s to around 2005. Flew on their A310-300s a handful of times from Newark back in the late 90s. Basically brand new from the factory. Spacious, modern and comfortable. Used to love seeing the rest of their fleet when you'd land in MBJ.
I live in Philadelphia. Air Jamaica had routes here. They had some of the prettiest airplanes next to Braniff, Huges Airwest, Pacific Southwest and CP Air. Sadly, none of these airlines are around anymore.😢 I miss them all...they made air travel an adventure.!!!💕💞❤
I love this channel!!! I love the variety and able to sit and watch airplanes without going to the airport (even though I love going to the airport)... I'm so happy to see that there's videos of Air Jamaica. I've flown on Air Jamaica several times and love and missed the whole experience on that airline!!!
Just imagine if Air Jamaica was still around now in 2020? There would be alot more in the fleet the airports , this beautiful island and the sky would look so complete.
Amen, especially with an upgraded all Airbus fleet, with the A320neo, A321neo, A321LR, and for the long-haul routes, the A330neo and possibly the A350XWB, for Toronto 🇨🇦 🍁 for the UK 🇬🇧 👑 , and possibly l, other European countries 🇩🇪 🇳🇱 🇪🇸 🇫🇷 🇵🇹 🇸🇪 🇩🇰 🇫🇮 🇳🇴.
@@trackuniverse9121 Maybe because during 2020 we had a pandemic and many businesses and corporations did lose plenty of money? Air Jamaica would've taken a hit like almost everyone else did.
As I understand it, the Jamaican government still owns the Air Jamaica brand which CAL is not currently using. Our former Minister of Transport the Honourable Omar Davies had said in an interview sometime ago that he would be considering asking them (CAL) back for the brand if they were not using it. I guess it was part of the contract of sale at the time we sold to CAL.I no longer see any Air Jamaica livery or symbol flying the skies so what has happened to the Air Jamaica brand? Wonder if the present Minister of Transport Mr. Mike Henry who care to comment on this. I know that running an airline is not an easy business but who knows, there are still some very bright and experienced business moguls in Jamaica who have the expertise and connections/finances to possible start-up /revive a national airline again. I do believe should we see that opportunity in the near futre, then we should bring back the Air Jamaica brand and start small and grow carefully.

Air Jamaica will be back! I have a plan which I will introduce to the Jamaican Gov't since they still owns the rights to the Brand. Under the contract with CAL, the rights is renewed yearly for only US$5. so the Jamaican Gov't can take it back anytime. CAL never really wanted to see Air Jamaica continue to fly. They only wanted one airline to run the Caribbean...(Theirs)! But that will change. Air Jamaica will start from scratch and take back our Name and our Brand... ONE LOVE to the Love Bird Forever!!!
me and you both my dream is to see air Jamaica return to the people of Jamaica or a buy back from Caribbean airlines who ever sell the airline to CAl fiya fe Dem fiya bun fe Dem
The Air Jamaica experience is already back..The Trinis will never give us back the Air JAmaica brand...but..we have Fly Jamaica...We just need to give it time, treat it right, upgrade its fleet to more efficient aircraft soon..along with its livery..and take over CAL's routes from Jamaica to the USA...along with an extension of the Mobay airport to support more aircraft.. We already cherish Fly Jamaica..we just need to invest in and manage it well.
But I should've known...once it wasn't a combo of Airbus A320 and A330 aircraft, but rather big old Boeing jets...that airline was doomed from the start.

air Jamaica had the COOLEST livery! it was so much more fun than other airline liveries
