Interesting to note that the area where the large rocks have been dumped has not eroded so much. It looks as though the houses were built on sand. A beautiful but precarious existence. Best wishes to all the residents.
You make an excellent observation! The presence of the large rocks does seem to provide some stabilization against erosion. Those carefully constructed steps and driveways now leading to a drop to the beach and the sea... Meanwhile, to the north, the quay at cley-next-the-sea is separated from the sea by a mile of salt marshes deposited since there was a harbour there.
It would help if the CROWN ESTATES Stopped offshore dredging along the Norfolk Coastline. Digging holes in the seabed just results in sand moving to fill in the holes. Effectivly stealing the land out from under the homes of the public.
