I think latent hyperopia is mistakenly explained the other way.it normally does not manifest symptoms of hyperopia due to accomodative power and ability of eye but when cycloplegic drugs are used the accomodative ability is lost so hyperopia symptoms get manifested and thats how we know that patient has latent hyperopia
this is not due to loss of accommodation , it is due to loss of normal physiological tone of the ciliary body with atropine and is present in everyone and can be manifested with atropine so it is normal but the one which is corrected by accommodation and manifest with atropine is called facultative hypermetropia and it is pathological. she give wrong explanation for latent hypermetropia.

Yes, the concept is explained differently in the video. Latent hypermetropia is one that is hidden but hasn't developed (or MANIFESTED) as manifest or absolute hypermetropia. This is because of the normal physiological tone of the ciliary body masks this defect. Thus, when you give cycloplegic drugs to stop the ciliary function, only then can this refractive error be detected.
Also if manifest squint ( facultative type ) is to be corrected by accomodation . But we have given patient complete cycloplegia. How will accomodation take place?

Mam i have minor hyperpia with astigmatism 0.25 in one eye and 0.50 in other eye. I don't remember axis I want to get surgery is it possible to get surgery with such low hyperopia? I have asthnopia as well and i wear glasses. But i hate wearing them
