+Lon Seidman Gday, - Nice that the screen open's that far ! - It could do with black lit keys - Looks like a Acer Aspire - Shame it does not come with 32 gig SSD 2 gig runs Linux well and chromeos To get chromebooks more in workplace/home and school they really need to improve chromeos migrating AWAY from website to offering real apps , as this should be more linux app integration (libreoffice/vlc/openshot/etc) I think these Chromebooks really need a free disc/usb stick with the ability to install standard Linux for the chromebooks
ASUS Chromebook serves as the best gadget for all ages. With the array of features that it comes with, using it for years on is not a task. The MediaTek MT8173C processor enables more productivity with steady and top-notch performance. I love the 12month membership of Google One with 100GB, now who would say no to that?
The Asus Chromebook is powered by a MediaTek chipset. It fares pretty well when it comes to supporting multitasking at every kind of task at hand. The rugged design of the machines makes it great for everyday use. With Chrome OS, one can work smarter and more productively, with the robust built-in security and the automatic updates, therefore the user has to go through no hassle.
Small request: When you review laptops and Chromebooks, can you show the power brick? Some companies have hilariously large bricks, while others are very compact. I'm still waiting to see Chromebooks that can charge via USB. Maybe later this year. Anyway, thanks for the videos, Lon.
Hey Lon -- I was wondering if you're considering reviewing the 14 inch ASUS VivoBook E403SA. Reviewers seem to really like it for $399 but the debate seems to be over the screen and the speed. I feel like the jury is out until you weigh in.
LoL it’s TN Panel but the C204 is an IPS panel and is coming to your school pretty soon. At least I got the C204 from school in my last year in high school.
That laptop feels like stepping back in time to the year 1999, when laptop computers were a lot more primitive. With poor pixelated LCD displays and little memory. The screen is also far too narrow. The 4 by 3 screen aspect ratio is by far the best.
Greetings dear, I have one of these, but the mouse is locked, that is, the mouse is not accepting it working, do you have a video or tip to help me unlock it?
Can anyone tell me what size of sd cards this chromebook supports. Everything I can find just says "SD Card reader" I cannot find what size cards are supported
how do you scan if it's not from a printer but a mobile scanner? I already have it plugged in it's not a computer but it's not doing anything except the power is on when it is plugged into my asus chromebook. Still trying to find the scanner, it's not a printer. Thanks so much if you can help or give a reference.
I noticed that this video was posted a year ago, with that being said, has google optimized chrome for better 4k playback?? Not like it's a huge deal breaker or anything, I'm just curious :)
Thanks and I am using the Acer Chromebook 11.6in CB3-111-C670 laptop 2gb Ram and 16gb eMMc since 7-2017 and Asus Chromebook 11.6in C202SA-YS02 11.6" Ruggedized and Water Resistant Design with 180 Degree (Intel Celeron 4 GB, 16GB eMMC, would be great for my Bicycle Touring Trip after 6-3-2019 from Portland, OR to San Diego, CA
Good morning I had that same model is it possible to insert a SIM card or do you have to have a dongle insert for it thank you stay blessed just wondering on this laptop as I bought it used
I am pretty sure that this can be dual booted to run chrome OS as well as a Linux distro relatively easily with multiple options and procedures for installation. Almost all of them are. Chrome OS is based on Chromium and is running off a Linux core. Would love to see Lon doing this on his review.
Asus might make good stuff at reasonable prices, but your preferred deity help you if you need service. While it's apparently good in other places, in the US, it's beyond abysmal, especially on the notebook side of things.
so this Asus Chromebook will be getting android apps with the update . Just thought you should know. www.androidheadlines.com/2016/05/not-chromebooks-getting-android-apps-heres-list.html source*
would a chromebook also be able to be a audiplayer offline? ready to toss out my old mp4 player, and i want to have my Oggvorbis Music library on a SD card... would this work ?
I think it has Google play music, so you can play pretty much any audio format under the sun... (it plays my flac files and my 320kbit/s mp3 just fine)
You can install GalliumOS which is based on Ubuntu. You will need to enter the chrosh shell through ChromeOS and retrieve the custom scripts from GitHub.
there was once i did a exam retake, and i needed a computer cause it was a film comprehension. The notebook looked shit like a very very old toshiba satellite, but apparently its a power house with an intel i7 ...lol
Lol my little sister literally smashed both of my parents computers. It was truly horrible, she was 2 and now she's 5. So, yes I think I need a tablet like this (still putting it in a safe place)
+Lon Seidman a few months, but I dont usually watch announcement videos if that's where you said it. well I'm glad to see that you're getting a new studio!
+Chandler Campbell he might have done an announcement video but he basically mentions it in a lot videos he uploads for sure the weekly wrap ups and even has done a couple of reviews, HTC Vive and the We boot cell phone signal booster from down there.
Good job with the video but I won,t subscribe because at Best Buy I found the laptop I liked it but didn’t know should I buy it my brother told me to see a video of so i watched this ine
That key travel looks glorious!
can this run windows 10?
No
Lon, thank you for doing this review! It was almost as if you were reading my mind when I asked you to review one...and you did!
+travisp11 Oh, and I appreciate you testing the lower spec model as I sometimes wonder if 4GB or RAM in a Chromebook is truly necessary.
Awesome! I may just snag one of these but man, I´ve already got two other Chromebooks.
Lon, love the work and glad I came across your channel. The content is very helpful.
+Lon Seidman Gday,

charlie brownau Cub Linux is your answer.
Another great review from Lon, as always!!
Great review. I wanted to see you spend a little time seeing how the processor handled task like multiple tabs and some Android apps.
2 years later and I still love this laptop. As I only use the web anyway.
so between the asus c201 and c202 which do you prefer?
Me, 202 for sure.

@@PopUpPirate1975the power brick is small for sure...
Very good review! As always!
Lon I love you man keep up the work and never stop reviewing

+Lon Seidman Coolness. Thanks.
the screen looks pretty good, specifically the viewing angles. Are they really that good in person?
In my school, we have those, and yes, they are that good.
LoL it’s TN Panel but the C204 is an IPS panel and is coming to your school pretty soon. At least I got the C204 from school in my last year in high school.
Thank you! I'm doing research on what one to buy, and this was very useful. Thanks alot.
How would this be for making videos now? Thank you for the great review! 👍
✌
Chromebooks really aren't well suited for video production.
That laptop feels like stepping back in time to the year 1999, when laptop computers were a lot more primitive. With poor pixelated LCD displays and little memory. The screen is also far too narrow. The 4 by 3 screen aspect ratio is by far the best.
Lon, have you reviewed the Asus vivobook e200ha?
Greetings dear, I have one of these, but the mouse is locked, that is, the mouse is not accepting it working, do you have a video or tip to help me unlock it?
Can anyone tell me what size of sd cards this chromebook supports.
Everything I can find just says "SD Card reader"
I cannot find what size cards are supported
Is this good for students like me for reports, research and pdf files??? Hope you reply since i plan to buy some. Thanks!

I am ashamed to say I'm an Asus fanboy...
Why? There's no problem with that.
I have this and love it. Very sturdy.

this is the best chromebook review place on youtube
can this run windows 10?
can this run windows 10?
If you can open it up and replace things, I wonder if you can replace the storage with an SSD and put Windows on it.
***** Oh ok. Jeez, ASUS should pick someone with a bit more personality to make that video next time, lol.
?
Is the keyboard waterproof? And is the memory expandable?
Does it matter if this has 2 cell battery, compare to HP or Dell having 3 cell or 4 cell?
Perhaps throw a light weight Linux on it so you won't be dependent on Google;-)
it's locked to chrome
+Lukas G does it run windows 10?
Do you know what a chromebook is?
You are joking right?
I am pretty sure that this can be dual booted to run chrome OS as well as a Linux distro relatively easily with multiple options and procedures for installation. Almost all of them are. Chrome OS is based on Chromium and is running off a Linux core. Would love to see Lon doing this on his review.
What can you do with Linux? I keep reading about it

Does "easy to repair" also mean "easy to upgrade"? I've been wanting to use one of these as a cheap Ubuntu laptop, but I need storage, man.
ASUS North America has a full teardown video.
Good review, thanks.
i probably need one of these lol, i drop my poor asus c300 all the time, but its holding up perfectly so far, just some scratches on the lid
Is it possible to upgrade the sdd memory as its piss poor.
How is the viewing angle on this one?
Poor but easy to adjust my biggest problem with was it not supporting games fromsteam
so this Asus Chromebook will be getting android apps with the update . Just thought you should know.

A chromebook with a WiFi light... It's a chromebook! Why would the WiFi ever be off!?
Offline web apps, such as Google Docs
We can take Print from dis?
I assume it's easy enough to attach a mouse utilizing the usb port? I hate track pads!
Yes not a problem should work fine!
Instant connection to Logitech USB here
would a chromebook also be able to be a audiplayer offline?

Hi Arthur, thanks !
what kind of player do you use?
thanks !
***** I used to use play music on the Chrome book, but now with Android app support I use black player (the best music app ever)
maybe spotify
Can you install Linux Ubuntu on it to replace chrome?
You can install GalliumOS which is based on Ubuntu. You will need to enter the chrosh shell through ChromeOS and retrieve the custom scripts from GitHub.
there was once i did a exam retake, and i needed a computer cause it was a film comprehension. The notebook looked shit like a very very old toshiba satellite, but apparently its a power house with an intel i7 ...lol
Promevo RUclips channel has some repair vids for this model.
broke your watch?
Lol my little sister literally smashed both of my parents computers. It was truly horrible, she was 2 and now she's 5. So, yes I think I need a tablet like this (still putting it in a safe place)
I like the idea of a Chromebook but had to install Bodhi Linux on my Acer to really get the most out of it. ChromeOS still not completely there IMHO
Does anyone know if this chrome book has play store
Matt Kinsella it does
is this convertible to windows 10?
No ChromeOS only.
I got this at school
Can you get Netflix on it
Finally a real review. Not some kid saying "bro..." over and over.
Our school distributes these to us instead of iPads
