Yifan was actually holding that position in the end before loosing on time. Maybe she would've lost anyway, but that's an amazing recovery after making a huge mistake right out of the opening - what a fighter!
The fact that Hou Yifan played like this after such a big mistake against a player of Arjun's rating when in effect she is a chess part-timer these days is absolutely unbelievable! Imagine how good she'd be if she played chess full time like most of the other top GMs. She's keeping up with the best pros when to her this is just a hobby 🤯🤯🤯
@@Cecilia-ky3uw thats the excuse all the mediocre people i know has given for giving up, if she knew she could be better and compete at the highest level she would have never pursued the other career, we are talking about being one of the best female chess player in history
World number 1 at what? Aren't there like over 100 people with a higher rating than 2601? If you meant #1 woman than this should be stated or else it could be misleading to someone who is new to chess
Apart from Re6 I believe Arjun had control throughout the game. His choice to trade the queens was obvious and even though the engine disagrees I think it's the best practical choice. The endgame is winning, not to mention the knight is in a perfect place to deliver forks and pick up material. All and all, I'd say it was a pretty clinical win after the blunder.
Hou should have become the greatest female chess player of all time, but she decided to continue her education at university and pursue her career in science if i am not mistaken.
"World no. 1" actually means world no 97, right ? Or even lower right now. Feminism cannot compensate for skill, no matter how much some people want so. Chess forces them to see reality. Men are on another level.
yeah she's #119 right now. of course it meant "women's world #1". i can't imagine anyone who follows chess not to know that, so it kind of goes without saying. of course women perform worse at chess, this is indisputable (and shows clearly when you look at just the end of the spectrum, basically the best players in the world). i don't think even feminists deny it - they are just biased towards explaining it by participation rate, bias, culture etc., but they can't deny the fact as such.
She's beaten some of the best in the world. Caruana for example during a tournament in Grenke. Polgar has also shown that there is no rigid division arbitrarily based on gender.
@@bubsadoozy Sure she beat Caruana, one time in a tournament. Caruana beat her 7 times. 7-1 is their head to head. And you mention Polgar, really ? The same Polgar who was a punching bag for Kramnik and Kasparov ? Kramnik beat her 11-0 and Kasparov 5-0. Proved once again what every chess player knows: that women are simply no match to men.

She's only #1 woman which is some political bs because if women are the same as men, as feminist love to say, then they shouldn't have a different category for them in chess. Chess is not physical, so there is no advantage there. Why inflate themselves with "world number 1 woman" when in reality she's not even top 100 in the world. I don't get it honestly
Gotta love your Indian accent on explaining the whole theory behind their moves)) I don’t mind the blunder knight sacrifice coz NO ONE on this planet has beaten STOCKFISH YET have they?)))
@nurzur I disagree. In other physical sports, women are genetically at a disadvantage. But in Chess its purely a mind game - infact, its a great opportunity for the feminists to showcase that they are equal/better than men when it comes to intelligence.
@nurzur Your argument is contradictory. On one hand you cite Judit Polgar who was competing with men at the highest level, but on the other hand you also say female brain and thought process is different ? Going by ur Judit Polgar argument, woman are capable of reaching similar levels of competency. More so, if they start competing with men at lower levels of competition.
@nurzur I agree with ur point that women & men have different attitudes to life and this reflects greatly in their way of doing things. But ur argument that since they both have different body, their brains also should be different, is a little flawed. Today, men and women occupy some of the. very high positions in the corporate sector, govt institutions and also public life. And these aren't exceptions, there are large women leaders in corporate sector (even in India) The main reason I believe women not reaching same level in Chess is the participation of women in men's field. Let's make it a common field for all right from younger age and they too would surely rise up the ranks. PS: I'm not a teenager and very much >25, if u really want to judge me by my age..

She smiled, she was just taken aback by the opening with little time. Men will see any video with a woman losing and be like "this is proof women are worse in this sport". Plz stop and educate yourselves, you would probably lose on move 2 to her. The main reason it's disaprity in chess for women and men is because it's super fewer women players due to sexism and it being male dominated and gatekeeped for men for so long. Here's a video to educate on other reasons why: ruclips.net/video/NFpC17WFNOU/видео.html
Yeahh I would do the same but he is almost 10 yrs younger than her (I know he doesn't look like it) and women don't usually go for that much younger men
She is the world's number 1 female player, but Arjun is one of the best in the world with 136 ELO more than her, it's very hard for her to beat Arjun. Even if she had enough time, she would have eventually lost. Even a draw is much appreciatable. But yeah, I agree that she played really well and almost hold it.
