Watcher is incredibly powerful, but both the punishment for misplays and the payoff for optimal plays are higher than other characters imo. Lower skill floor, higher skill ceiling.

Yeah, I don't get it. Supposedly the Watcher is simple, but NL also complains about having to do the most calculations and number crunching with her. Supposedly she's easy, but NL also struggles to get wins with her. No shame in losing btw, StS is a tough game and I enjoy the content regardless. I just find it funny that he keeps repeating these ideas when they don't necessarily seem to be true.
@@Linkale14 Watcher is by far the most powerful character, that's why he says that. Also, the A20 winrates have shown to be far higher and more consistent than ironclad silent and defect (except when our egg dad is on the sticks)

Dude I hate the Jaw-worm squad on floor 3 so much, like it's always so embarrassing to lose to 3 floor 1 enemies, but they're really hard to deal with when they all attack at once on round 1!

It's crazy because NL is looking at all the small technical changes but then just misses lethal or just doesn't play his last energy half the time. I think he'd be fine ish if he just looked at his hand before starting and ending each turn. Basically, just slow down but especially at the start and end where things are important

That last fight was actually winnable by the way! If you used Indignation first then Tantrum plus Flurry the left enemy, that kills (4 plus 2 = 6 times 2 = 12 times 3 = 36, leaving them on 10HP off 46), then Eruption leaves another below 30 as it does 30 then Protect lets you survive. Order is frustrating though and I get not paying attention.
As an experienced veteran at the game i have to say NL's decision making on card rewards isn't bad, just the battles need some work. Watcher is a very rough character if you don't know how to play the deck, you just have to lock in and calculate some turns out, good aggressive watcher decks have lethal even when you don't expect it. Keep it up ❤
He knows how to play the Watcher, he has beaten A20 2-3 years ago. He is just playing too fast. Jorbs and Baalorlord usually have runs lasting between 1-2 hours. Meanwhile this video is 52 minutes and NL managed to fail twice in Act II and once in Act III. It's ridiculous.
The kinders at my school came in one humble morning for orientation before attending school full-time for 8 hours the next day. Just let them join society after a 4 hour training session
NL seems to exist in a quantum position where he both does and doesn't know that you don't heal to full after a boss at A5+ You heal 75% of missing HP now, so it's still better to keep HP if possible.

The Watcher is very difficult for me too. Yes, the front-loaded damage is very good. But I think this character suffers more from rng and bad draw than the other characters. Of course scry can help with that, but it's not always enough.

There was never a change, it’s always been that way. Runic pyramid has never included the retain keyword even before watcher when retain was only on silent.
This is just like Magic Cards, I do not understand what is happening. But with it being on Mobile I can waste time at work figuring out these mechanics

Im enjoying STS and the watcher. Maybe ascension 10 just needs a bit more time, calculate the damage outcomes, block, energy more carefully and card orders especially if you’re going to play most of the cards, evaluating the card picks and skips based on the current deck and not on how they did in a previous run, maybe a bit of time on pathing choices. NL is better at STS than me, but those are some thoughts on what could help from a guy like me.
What cards do you all think NL is underrating? Personally I am a big fan of cut-through-fate. i feel like he keeps overvalueing the stance dancing strat and every game he starts getting a cool run going before starting to fill his deck with random stance changing bullshit cards that just make the deck clunky and dysfuncional i love it and i hope he never stops doing it LMAO
No stance dancing is the best strat for watcher. It's the only sta character that has a clear best strat. The problem is that he just takes too many other cards so stance dancing doesn't work. He undervalues cards like empty mind and cut through the fate which means he gets stuck in wrath and takes too much damage.
