    LC and mom of two here! Wake her after 3 hours during the day to increase her calories during the day so she may give you some longer stretches at night! Also nipple shield can inhibit some milk transfer which might be why you have mastitis. With all this being said. You are doing amazing and as a mom myself, do what works for you and don’t stress!!

    I can’t really express my feelings so I’m going to try my best --- I have lost partum depression. I had my first baby 3/14/23 (his due date was 7/1/23) he wasn’t planned. I was married not even a month. When I got married I was 19, & I moved SO fast with this man after a relationship where I was truly in love. At 10 weeks we found out he had gastroschisis (his intestines were outside of his body) the doctors said I could potentially deliver early. Fast forward I ended up being very high risk & had to deliver at a hospital an hour away. We were home, I was in labor in the car for 45 minutes going through traffic. I gave birth 2 min after I got into the delivery room. Everything happened i fast, i wasn’t able to see my son or even hold him until he was 2 months old. He was born at 28 weeks weighing 2lb 14oz. But this is my story.
    Im so happy for you and Taylor. You guys are such amazing parents & inspire me SO much. We love you Jesus! Thank you for miracles like my now, healthy 9month old baby boy ❤️

    You're not alone with the HARDNESS of breastfeeding, babe. It's THE HARDEST part of newborn/ babying! None of my 4 kids ever took my milk (or any milk) from a bottle by the way! It's exhausting, but you'll live! Keep going Mumma, you're doing so great! Xoxo

    We started out with a nipple shield and we were able to wean from that after a couple months! My son barely ever took a bottle and never took one past 2 months. We made it 15 months exclusively nursing until I weaned him because I was 16 weeks pregnant!! Keep up the hard work, mama. It’s not easy but you can do it ❤

    I went through a similar experience nursing my baby.
    My doctor said keep putting her to the boob when she’s hungry, that she can be exclusively breast fed again.
    With the bottle the milk comes out quicker than nipple.
    We had a long wonderful breastfeeding journey after that.
    You do what is best for you and your family 💖

    I was worried at first that you had the baby blues, thats what I call it. Those are normal with your hormones on hyperdrive! So glad you're doing well. I had mastitis too, not a fun thing 😕 My youngest was born at 36 weeks so it was hard for him being in the NICU and me stuck in bed from pre-eclampsia. We had to supplement with formula which I was not happy about but, pumping really helped. I was kinda sad about it because my first latched so well and I nursed exclusively until I returned to work. Pumping provided him with all he needed after that. I think the mastitis came on because of the huge supply I had with him, very different for my second. Warm compresses work for the discomfort and believe it or not keeping a nursing bra on even while sleeping. And, as for tearing, those silly sitz baths really help soothe, along with a donut pillow. The cold pads are great, wish I had those! You look wonderful Soph, keep up the great mommying, you and Taylor are blessed. Mary Mahryn is beautiful and thriving! Don't rush for baby 2 just yet 😉 ❤ and 🙏 's

    My boys are teenagers now, but I had to use the nipple shield on my first. To transition him off, I nursed him with it on for about 4 minutes, then I unlatched him, quickly took the shield off, and was able to get him to latch back on without the shield. I think doing it when he was not as frustrated and hungry helped, and after he got my milk supply flowing. He eventually got used to just my skin again, and I no longer needed the shield. Every baby responds differently, so not sure if this will help MM, but is may be worth a try if you want to try to transition from using the shield.
    Some moms use the shield the entire time of nursing and it works well, so definitely no pressure to transition from using it, if that is what you feel is working best for you.
    You are doing an amazing job as a Momma! 💕

    If you find that when you are breastfeeding that the baby is still hungry after a feed. That may mean you need to be eating more protein in your diet to give to her. I went through that when i was breastfeeding my baby. I wasnt eating as much as i shouldve. But once you up your veggies, meats and starches. The baby gets more full after a feed from you. Along with continuing the postnatal/prenatal vitamins. 🥰❤️❤️

    Feel free to reach out to me. I had trouble breastfeeding as well straight out of the gate and had to use shields. I had to change to pumping for a month and once my baby boy was about 3 months he started breastfeeding again and all I did was try to latch him a couple times a day without the cover on and then do a bottle once a week to make sure he takes bottles. So don’t give up even if you ever need donor milk the bond you make is so special. I am also not an overproduced I use a cup on the other side while feeding and get about 2-3 ounces and save that and have been able to build a freezer stash. You got this girl!

    A thing that adds to ppd that a lot of women don’t know about is, folic acid is probably one of the highest suggested prenatal med right? Well, it adds to the hormones changes, and basically boost your mood really high. When you go off of the prenatal vitamins/ meds, it brings your emotions and hormones back down and that can cause the ppd to be even worse.
    I honestly think that doing your own research, what’s in medications of all sorts, and then deciding what’s best for you

    I had a very successful breastfeeding relationship with my daughter, down to one feed at 18 months, and my main advise is pump as little as you can and nurse as much as you can. I had to pump for over a month during an extreme nursing strike and I must say it’s way harder than nursing. If you’re home with your baby, try to primarily nurse.

    Hey mama! I had the same issue with my baby and had to wear the nipple shield up to 5/6 months and then she started latching naturally! My baby would not take any bottles besides the Lanisoh bottles. The nipple is very similar to the nipple shield! Hope this helps and you’re doing great! 🫶🏻

    Keep introducing the breast, also drink plenty of water, staying hydrated is so important. Keep up with the lactation specialist if you have to. Babies will take both. Hot compresses on the breasts. I had that but I'm 63 yrs old now, mine came because did not get a breast pump ahead of time, gotta keep that milk flowing and get every last drop. Bless your heart, take it one second at a time, such a blessing growing your baby and having her and caring for her now, enjoy the process! 😊❤

  • @samcobb1353
    @samcobb1353 5 месяцев назад

    Dont rush having your babies too close together. I already saw a comment talking about how medically, you're supposed to wait 18 months to get pregnant because of the full healing process. I don't agree with that. I am currently pregnant with number 4 (my first 3 are 3, 2, and 1). I was 6 months postpartum, 5 months postpartum, and then 6 months postpartum and for us, that was right. I felt good and I was mentally and emotionally ready for another baby. If y'all decide to have another baby before she's 1 or before she's 2, don't let anyone discourage you from it. Do what feels right for you and your family. When you're both ready, you'll know and God's timing will be perfect above all else. ❤

    My baby girl never latched straight away and only ate from the bottle whil in the hospital. Tried a nipple shield and for the first 2 months that was the only way i could breastfeed. She now occasionally latches without it but often prefers to have it.

    Ok, I used nipple shield for a couple months because there was some damage to heal from first latches that weren’t deep enough… and then baby was bigger and stronger and latched well after. And for the bottle, I found they will take it if they’re hungry enough and they aren’t given the breast as a plan B. So if someone’s watching her, she most likely will give in and take the bottle when she has no other options! Just some experience of mine!

    When you feel like working out again start with some core and pelvic floor workouts. I also would advise you to not get pregnant again for atleast a year…Women do it, not intentionally all of the time. 2 under 2 is tough. Let your body heal. You are gonna wreck havoc on your body and mind if you go through it all again too soon. Give your sweet baby your undivided attention for as long as you can! ❤ just my opinion though do you but my sister has two under two and it’s not for the weak!

    It takes approx 18 months for your body to fully recover from pregnancy/childbirth. That includes your hormones. As someone who didnt wait, I would Highly recommend allowing yourself atleast 18 months before trying to get pregnant again. ♡

      To add I was 18 haha

    • @me_mrae383
      @me_mrae383 5 месяцев назад

      @teeandkids937 it's not about the kids, its about her body and the toll it will take on her body for bot allowing it to heal. I had 4 kids. My first 3 were less than 2.5 years apart. 3 under 2.5 and my body took a long time to recover. And some parts of me never recovered properly. My 2 middle children are the same age for 1 whole month. My 3rd and 4th are nearly 4 years apart and I tell myself often I wish I'd spaced my older three out better. They are very close in age, and they are like best friends but they also fight so much. Two girls going through puberty at the same time has been awful. Though I'm sure it could be worse, I still think for my body's sake, they first 3 should have been spaced out. I nearly lost my 3rd bc the lining of uterus was dangerously thin. It's due to not waiting after having baby number 2. My hormones also were really bad. I was told that medically it takes 18 months for a woman's body to fully recover after pregnancy/childbirth. So I recommend it to every momma. Bc I would hope their experiences are better than mine. The mental aspect of having 3 that young so so close together was awful. I was constantly pulled in every direction. I can't even remember alot of their infancy bc I literally was in survival mode.

    Keep doing the nipple shield if you need to Sophia!! When she's older she will go without the shield. My baby is 5 months and she still needs the nipple shield sometimes and it's great. She's getting the breastmilk!

    Look into Chinese belly binding and do it for 30 days, and your stomach and everything will go back to normal
