I love that you don’t just go buy a bunch of stuff for an under $5 video that you claim to use and then never will use again like many vloggers... so nice that these are products we see often on the channel and know you actually use! Also, I can’t live without that elf translucent powder! I pack it on my t zone where I get oily during summer and it’s the only thing that helps me stay matte! Can we say 'NYX'? I was in Priceline (an Australian drugstore) the other day and saw a 9 pan NYX eyeshadow palette for $50! For another $20-30 I could go to Mecca/Sephora and buy something much better quality with more product and much more luxe packaging and not made in China. Ridiculous. I've heard even in the US they're getting very pricy for a drugstore brand.
Do some people not like full face videos?!? What kind of crazy talk is that? 🤪 Iwould much rather watch someone using the products rather than just a sermon on the products with no visual! Love you Em!
I love that your channel never strays far from its roots: affordable yet great quality makeup recommendations! A decade later and you're still humble and not "too good" for the drugstore to only fake it for more influence/paycheck. Thank you for the quality content!

Good morning!!! I love this idea. So useful! I think a brush/beauty tools under $5 would be great as well. I also think it would be fun for you to do one eye with and one without the Milani eye primer and do a check in at the end of the day. Or maybe even half of your face all primed and prepped, and the other half with just makeup. I think it would be helpful to see the actual benefits of those extra steps. Have a great weekend!!
Wow, you mentioned Revlon’s Cherries in the Snow and I got a lump in my throat, that was my mom’s favorite lipstick shade, may she Rest In Peace. Brings back memories. Great video
One thing I love so much about your channel (one of the many things I love) is your enthusiasm for makeup knows no price point. I can always trust that you are recommending something because you genuinely enjoy it. I was always a department store girl, I started on Clinique back in the 90s like many of us did (because that’s what mom used) but as I’ve gotten into my 30s I’ve really developed an appreciation for the surge in quality at the drug store. Thanks for always having recommendations I can trust ❤️
I just lost my job and I've been worried about getting make at an affordable price for job interviews. This helped me a lot. Regardless of needs, I'm going to have to try that Rimmel foundation. Also, ELF also has a pretty decent eye primer. I think it's like $2.
Ahh really enjoyed this video. It was peaceful, reminded me of “old” RUclips. Times have changed and the thing I’ve loved about your channel is the value you give your viewers. No drama, just amazing tips and recommendations. I have pin straight hair and you changed my life years ago when you suggested using waterproof mascara so you don’t lose the curl. Some of my most satisfying online beauty purchases come from an ELF sale. It seems like I can fill up a box with wonderful products and spend less than $25. They always share free items, share member extras, and their shipping boxes (yes, I notice this!!!!) are better than any other brand. Way to go, ELF!! ❤️
Target also carries the Profusion stuff for similar pricing! I have one eyeshadow palette I got during December. I am a free lance makeup artist and that ONE, all mattes Profusion palette, has become my go to shadows.. Even over my MAC and prestige brands!

I get disposable spoolies & strong hold thickening hair gel. I put a drop out & roll spoolie then apply to brows. I get thicker looking brows with strong hold, but not crunchy.
As I’ve gotten older, I’ve started using powder eyeshadow as liner, for a softer look. The darkest shade in that Profusion palette would definitely work for that! Because I have hooded eyes with limited lid space, I often just use a gel liner to tightline beneath my upper lashes.
MsConnieMB my most recent pot gel acquisition is the L’Oréal infallible gel lacquer liner (I’m using the color Espresso; it also comes in black). It comes with a brush that actually works surprisingly well for tightlining. I haven’t had any issues with transfer so long as I’m careful not to apply too much (and once when I slept in it 😆).
I'll never tire of these kinds of videos. Still true to what makes makeup exciting is finding cheap drugstore products that perform like high end! It's the challenge of it and patting yourself on the back when you realize you've saved dozens of dollars on a single product that's just as great! Bravo!
Holy moly your cheeks!!! They are downright delicious looking with those blushes on...hopping over to Wal-Mart to grab this bc the glow and color is unreal 🖤
Emily, I think expecting to find good (and safe) makeup for 5 dollars or less is too much to ask nowadays and would quickly become an exercise in frustration. I'd be more interested in seeing a "$10 or less" video..that threshold would give us so many more options while still helping us stay on the cheaper side of the budget. There are so many excellent mascaras, primers, setting sprays, powders and blushers that would fit this category! Even a handful of tried-and-true foundations can be found for under 10 dollars, which is inexpensive, considering that most of the Sephora, Ulta, and department store choices go for $30 or more. Thank you for all the great work you put into these! They are so helpful!
Thanks so much Emily! Truly love and appreciate the value and the Elf Brow Pencil. Sometime could you do a video of skin care products; moisturizers at a lower price point range? Skin care for aging skin is a confusing area for me. I have been dying to try the Bobbie Brown vitamin enriched base you have recommended but I have to work it into my budget. Love this so much. I remember when I was a single Mom just buying the basics and least expensive makeup, to this day it instilled in me to really not buy anything over $10 most people think just because something is not expensive that it doesn't work as well as higher priced but a lot of times it's better. Thank you beautiful
I don’t always watch your videos bc a lot of the time I don’t have time or they’re not a topic relevant to me, but every time I watch one of your videos I enjoy it so much. You are one of the best and genuine RUclips personalities. Love this video and you Em!

Btw @beautyjunki101 told me about the elf " Active " Brow gel (it's the like green and white one) and mascara and it is no joke it will hold your brows check it out love!!!
I watched two of your videos back to back, I was mesmerized! I LOVE how you took the time to explain and describe the formula of the products and their application, as well as give comparisons of some of the more pricier products they compared to. Your looks were so beautiful and wearable. It felt like I was watching a friend apply her makeup (sounds corny lol, but true!) It was honest and sincere! Thank you, you are refreshing! x
I love your full-faced videos as a format for reviews and roundups! Like you said, it's helpful to see the products in action while getting your thoughts.
Hi Emily! Thank you again for going over affordable makeup full face. And for sharing the best! I appreciate your honest opinion. You always create such beautiful looks! Thanks Emily!!
I had melasma so bad while pregnant with my second. I had it across my upper lip, across my nose and cheeks and right above my eyebrows. My son is now almost 16 and I still have very faint melasma across my cheeks and above my eyebrows. The good thing about this is it has made me completely faithful to using sunscreen daily because stepping outside will immediately bring it back and darken those areas. It also made me begin using vitamin C serum and retinol products and an occasional peel (love the peel from The Ordinary, which is now sold at Ulta! Yay!) At 46, my skin looks far better than a lot of women my age (and dare I say, younger than me!) and I contribute that to daily sunscreen use. So this is the bright side of melasma, if there is one! I now use ONLY mineral sunscreens because I have found that they don't irritate my skin. The chemical ones can irritate skin and irritation can actually make melasma worse. The biggest drawback to most mineral sunscreens is that it usually doesn't play well with foundations. To get around this, I use It Cosmetics CC with spf50 (it is an all mineral sunscreen and NOTHING on the market compares, despite some brands trying to dupe it- It Cosmetics is the ONLY one with thst is all mineral based!) ALL over my face and neck. On days I don't need much coverage, I really love Elta MD tinted all mineral sunscreen. I found this one isn't as drying, but if that isn't an issue, Australian Gold makes one that is also very nice and cheaper as well. Good luck to my gals with melasma! I know it's a challenging skin condition, but there are things that can definitely help! Most of all, sunscreen, sunscreen, sunscreen!
Im 52 and have the same issue aduring pregnancy and kept a lot of my malasma. I am currently using differen( retin A) now that it is over the counter. Check out dr dray on you tube! She is a dermatologist. My malasma is fading. Elta md tinted 41spf is awesome sunscreen and is only physical.i use with my ITCosmetics cc cream for a "sheer" look.
A very informative video Emily, thank you so much for sharing. Thank you for always being honest and drama free. Prayers for you and your growing beautiful family. Have a Happy Day!
By Walmart does not sell a lot of product that I see on RUclips. I will check on Amazon. I love the under $5 Jordana eyeliner I've used it for over 10 years and I think it's one of the best. Emily you are still number one on RUclips in my book. You are just so genuine.
I love seeing how excited you get every time you apply blush. lol You can truly see your face light up when you apply blush or talk about your fav blushes.
A good drug store primer, although not under $5, is Covergirl Anti-aging Foundation Primer. At Walmart it is $12.99 and Emily you right about Walmart, this price is lower than Target or Ulta.
I found a beauty sponge at Marshall's for 4.99 in Canada (where everything costs more). This sponge I actually refer to the Beauty Blender. It is by Danielle.
Also their concealer is amazing. I did a full face believe line at dollar general. Small youtuber any love appreciated ruclips.net/video/93BzaxFrdy4/видео.html
Emily, I was just thinking of HOW cool it would be to bump into you on the makeup aisle at Wal-Mart😀 Anyhoo, watched this video a week before my birthday and put it to good use. My gift to myself was restocking my entire makeup collection; proud to say I did so for a cool $52! On your suggestion, I picked up the Profusion Blush I pallet. WOW. I tapped my brush in once and couldn't believe the payoff! I also picked up the Rimmel bronzer and was quite happy with it as well. Was also looking for a full coverage concealer so tried the Elf Camo Concealer. I truly feel this isn't getting enough props for covering hyperpigmentation/scarring etc. I have a problem area and it covered it up beautifully! Although I only spent $52 on my purchase - I don't feel like I skimped on quality and that's what matters MOST. Thank you for these vids, they REALLY help those of us who want to diva on a budget😜
I can totally agree, drugstore prices have been climbing steadily 😪 I CONSTANTLY have the ELF Lip Exfoliator in my collection! I purchase it in a 3-pack for only $7!
I've watched you since I was in eighth grade (24 now!) and you're STILL my go-to trusted beauty guru, I know if you recommend something it's gonna be good
I just bought one of those $2 elf brow pencils at the store last week and I honestly can't believe I was sleeping on it for so long! I got it in the Taupe color which is pretty much perfect for my dark blonde hair. I set it with a gel and my brows look great all day! The packaging feels a tiny bit flimsy to me but so far nothing has broken or anything. For $2 it's a winner!
Good Saturday morning Emily! Oh how I have missed your videos! By far my favorite way to spend Saturday morning is coffee with Emily. I used The Wanys palette yesterday and fell in love with it all over again! Looking forward to your next collab🥰🥰🥰 forever a fan.
How do you look so amazing while having so many babies and eating things like homemade mac and cheese!!??? You are magical, lol. i love how real you are, but is it just the seemingly really active lifestyle you live? You just seem so healthy and happy and I adore that. I love my influencers with health issues and hearing their ups and downs because its so relateable for me, but I also love your country girl amazing glamour, real world.......ok, don't know what to call it, lol, but it seems all types of videos make me feel so warm and happy. Hubby wonders how it helps me to sit and watch videos so long, but its like a support group with so many different types of people. I live in AL and even vacation near where you do each year. I LOVE Ft. Walton beach because it just doesn't seem as teen crowded as some of the other places. Just sending some love and appreciation. Thankyou so much for when you spotlight drugstore!! I appreciate that so much as well. Many blessings to you and your family. (Maybe you'll get a chance to read all that, lol. Bless you anyway!!)
These videos are so helpful & refreshing to see, so thank you for continuing to make this kind of content! It’s needed! Thank you Emily! Thankful for your channel!!☺️
I love Profusion! I never thought of buying those $5 palettes. Those are stunning and seem so easy to use everyday! Thank you Emily for another useful video. :) God bless and have a blessed Sunday!
Wow I was terrified when she put her brush in the raven color but it looks so amazing! Emily could you do a Smokey Eye look for Fair skin tones? I am very fair (natural red head with freckles) so I'm curious about your suggestions!😊 Beautiful makeup today! Love it!
LOVED this video, and I’ll echo what others are saying: I love that you did not go haul a bunch of new products. The point of budgeting is not to buy a bunch of new stuff, and I’ve grown increasingly frustrated with channels where every themed video is also a haul. I will add that for me, patience and watching sales is so important for budgeting. Almost all drugstore brands have great sales, as we all know, and watching for those sales can be so helpful! Physicians formula is 40% off about once a month at my grocery store, and I try to wait for that sale before I buy anything since they are one of the brands with the highest drugstore prices. My other favorite places to shop are Marshall’s and TJMaxx-I find tons of high end and drugstore products in the $5-10 range or even under that typically retail for much more. Again, this takes a little patience, and you have to be willing to go a lot and not buy things if there’s nothing you want (if you’re too tempted by a good deal this may not be the method for you!) but it pays off! They had Buxom lip glosses and Lorac lipsticks for 5.99, plenty of Laura Geller palettes for $6-7, tons of NARS, Becca, Too Faced, etc. This would be a fun video, actually-a Marshall’s/TJMaxx Finds video. That said, it would take time-they can go a month or two without having anything that good, then they get a few shipments of great products! So it really means you have to be willing to go check it out often. (Or search #tjmaxxmakeup or similar hashtags on Instagram to see what’s in stores and if it’s worth it to go.) I don’t think it needs to be a full face video, just feature products you found that are great deals for good products. I hope you and your family had a wonderful holiday!
I love how you get sent a ton of super pricey makeup and you also purchase some pricey makeup but you put plenty of focus on very affordable products for your audience. Most influencers will do videos making fun of "cheap" makeup but you find the good products and share those.
I have an Elf brow highlighter that's been sitting in one of my makeup bags, and not getting any use at all. I am so glad to see you use it the way you did. I just tried it, and it works great!
I love that you don’t just go buy a bunch of stuff for an under $5 video that you claim to use and then never will use again like many vloggers... so nice that these are products we see often on the channel and know you actually use! Also, I can’t live without that elf translucent powder! I pack it on my t zone where I get oily during summer and it’s the only thing that helps me stay matte! bellyup7878 I just bought some Essence makeup. I will have a review video soon on my channel if you are interested.
I had 3 ads in the video and didn't skip 1...which I usually don't do but EM doesn't do sponsored videos and deserves all the Benjamin's ✝💯💰💸 ... She is a gem which is so hard to find.... Love ya girl...xo.
Btw @beautyjunki101 told me about the elf " Active " Brow gel (it's the like green and white one) and mascara and it is no joke it will hold your brows check it out love!!!
Love this... when you were talking about early bronzer on your channel I thought it was NYC sunny for sure. I still use it!
The Profusion Blushes also make the best eyeshadows! I'm so happy you included both of these!
I bought the Profusion matte palette today. Wow, you are right. The pigmentation is on point.
You are so authentic! Love watching your videos!!💗

Emily I have a 17 month old son and whenever I play your videos my son just gets so happy smiling at waving at you. 🙂
Broadway at Dollar general has an awesome eye primer dupe for the UD Primer potion. I think it's $3?
cassandra Tyler Good to know......I've wondered how their products were.
Also their concealer is amazing. I did a full face believe line at dollar general. Small youtuber any love appreciated ruclips.net/video/93BzaxFrdy4/видео.html
Ugh love these kinds of videos. I feel everyone needs to see this.
Love videos for folks on a budget! Thanks for this!
Thank you for showing products that will not bankrupt. I also appreciate watching the entire process
Samantha K where at?!
Samantha K where do you find a 3 pack?? They are always sold out at my Walmart!
Directly on the ELF website!
Anna R On the ELF Website!
kori kayleen On the ELF website!
I’m gonna have to get me that blush palette - that highlight shade tho ... “good Lord!” 😂🤣😂
Berry smoothie is my all time favorite! Also I love pink truffle !!! They both go with everything ...great everyday look!
Loved this beautiful under $5.00 makeup video for those of us on a budget, so pretty and natural. You look absolutely gorgeous!
I really like these kinds of videos. You do such an excellent job of scoping out the best products. Thank you!
You are SO creative in your videos! LOVE them. And love your passion for makeup. You're very enjoyable to watch and learn from.
It is amazing that you got such a gorgeous look with such inexpensive products! Thank you for making videos that show us what can be done!
You know that I can never get tired of too many GRWM videos (does anyone??!?!) Love the
Good Saturday morning Emily!
Love!! My Daughter and I are alumni OLE MISS graduates Oxford, Mississippi ! I also live 30 minutes from there now. Love ya Em!
So many good products. This foundation is so flattering on you. I love a lot of elf’s products.
Wow I was terrified when she put her brush in the raven color but it looks so amazing!
Emily could you do a Smokey Eye look for Fair skin tones? I am very fair (natural red head with freckles) so I'm curious about your suggestions!😊
Beautiful makeup today!
I love how Emily does eyeshadow!😍
I have an Elf brow highlighter that's been sitting in one of my makeup bags, and not getting any use at all. I am so glad to see you use it the way you did. I just tried it, and it works great!
I think Revlon also converted Peach Parfait and Pink Truffle into the SL Sheers line.
That's so good to know! I love my Pink Truffle lipstick. Thanks! ~Anastacia in Cleveland
