There was a nfl player who died on field during the Super Bowl. his name was chuck Hughes. After taking a hit from a hall of famer, he got up. The quarterback said there was a look in his eyes. After the qb broke the huddle, he collapsed. Nobody thought it was a big deal as he was carted off the field, arm dangling from the side. He was later pronounced dead.

Frank, do some research please! there have been 9 deaths while in uniform. and only ONE of them was during a game. It was Chuck Hughes from the Detroit Lions. He died on 10/28/1971. For the first 3/4 quarters of the game against the Chicago Bears, Hughes had been sidelined. with just 10 minutes left in the game, he was put in the game to replace a non seriously injured player. With 2 minutes left on the clock he caught the pass. Then with 62 seconds left, he collapsed. At first the other team thought he was faking it to get an extra time out. and started jearing him and yelling at him to get out. when he didn't and the team dr was called out they realized he was actually dead. they performed cpr, but to no avail. he'd had a heart attack. all the other deaths have occurred after games or in practices. Not that any death isn't tragic. This also changed the game as well. see Hughes' arteries were 100% clogged. this should have been found and dealt with during any routine physical that football players have to go through and it wasn't or it was ignored by the drs.
