This man was a legend. In the late 90's I was in a supermarket up in Lancaster.... I couldn't afford my shopping, and had to embarrassingly ask if I could only pay for what she says on the till. Next thing I know, as I walked out of the shop, a man tapped me on the shoulder and gave me a bag of shopping. He said, "You forgot this"... Anyway, it turned out that Jim Bowen was behind me in the line, and he bought the rest of my basket, out of his own pocket and sent a stranger out to give it to me. I'll never ever forget that.
Jim was Mr Bullseye and I still watch the repeats at 5am to 6am ch 48 freeview while working nights (I'm the boss!) RIP Jim and thanks, you were great, super, smashing.

I was only a boy when Bullseye was on, but it was still a joy to watch, even if I didn’t understand everything.
I met Bowen and Willie Thorne at a
event. Bowen died at 80, Thorne at 66, and recently Tony Green at 85.
Remind me not to turn up for a drink with you,my friend...

Teaching standards in his area must have been low if he was a deputy head.

Alan Carr did host this game
No - Dave Spikey did in it's brief return in 2006.
