It is literally insane seeing Shibata in the ring again in 2024. I remember the headbutt like it was yesterday. He hasn't aged at all.
He really hasn't. He looks exactly the same. Maybe even better.
Even more amazing that he recovered from having his brain removed.
A part of his brain was removed, I hear he's partially blind from one eye, and he performs like he was prime Shibata.
He should of stayed retired, he doesnt sell moves and he doesnt know how to get people over, this match was supposed to get will over, shibata is a jobber in this company and he just made ospreay look like an idiot, the guy sells literally nothing
That day made me so sad. Now he is on the best roster in wrestling on weekly TV.

@@adamandanna honestly idk if that's just Shibata's style 🤷🏻♂️ tbh NJPW is one promotion I don't watch a whole lot of so I don't know much about his career or former matches but it does seem that a lot of the well known/long term Japanese wrestlers have no selling incorporated onto their style. I mean Minoru Suzuki no sells a lot 🤷🏻♂️

There two great artisans of the ring are just amazing together, seeing them paired up against each other is like feasting on a combo meal that is both fulfilling, worth every penny, and leaves you craving for more... The icing on top? Seeing Shibata doing his signature drop kicks are always a feat for a Kamen Rider fan as myself...
It's incredible to still see Shibata wrestle and go toe to toe with one of the best wrestlers today. AEW should do a Danielson and Shibata Vs Christian n Edge advertised as a back from the dead dream match

No heat because no buildup. This match deserved time, build-up, and a good story. Instead, you get a random "memberberry" match with zero story. This deserved better.
Well done, bruv! What an opener and the change from the first time they met until now in Ospreay is insane. Shibata is still on the top of his game but Ospreay is on an almost inhuman level. Great opener and a great struggle here.

@@gmac673 yep 💯. Last match he had on Dynamite did 630k, this match will probably get 900k due in part to the Big Bang bump. It really sucks, I like Osprey a lot but Tony’s booking is leading to lower ratings.

Edit: As he should dial it down weeks before his match at Dynasty, don't wanna risk injury.
