@@Hellwyck His observation is that he believes every member of that cast was fantastic, but that among them, he feels Jason Sudeikis is the most underrated. I don't see anything illogical about his statement, since calling him underrated is a de facto assertion that his performances show some measure of value. Also, he didn't say they're literally gold. That would be heavy and boring to watch. He said literally everyone on the show was gold, meaning that he would vouch for the quality of every last member. Again, there's no logical inconsistency.
He’s known for being one of the rare cast members that almost never breaks. His specialty is playing the straight man, and so I think he’s just built up a strong resistance to reacting at all not matter what. It’s impressive.
Such a great era. Sudekis, Armisan, Wiig, Forte, Myers, Rudolph, Hader, Samberg, Keenan, and later Bayer, Strong, McKinnon, Moynihan, and Killam. Just a murderer’s row. What a cast!
was the last great cast. the last 10 years have been awful. 2012 was the last good year. the only person that has been good on the show sense is McKinnon, and of course the 20 year star: Keenan
Pete Twinkle and Greg Stink are hilarious characters. I'm glad to see there are several different episodes of this skit, I've been catching up and enjoying them all.
I just finished watching every version of this sketch and I can safely say it made watching RUclips videos on my couch because I couldn't sleep the highlight of my day
0:55 Before you interrupt this sketch to go google it, let me tell you, YES, that is indeed Jillian Bell on the left. She was a writer on SNL for one season (2009-10) and you know how every once in a while they ask writers to play small parts in some sketches. I had no idea.
It’s such a nice touch - the default way to write these would be for the straight man to be baffled or pissed by the other guy’s idiocy, I love that they go down this sweeter route, it’s more interesting and adds fun dimension to the characters.
@@johnshottie4415 Yup, Bill Hader has mentioned that a couple of times. He would put random crap on the cue cards, and that's why he broke so much when he was doing Stefon.
I been trying to find the one we're they were doing one of these skits and the sponsor was The Today Sponge! Can't keep your legs shut, then stuff a today sponge in your front butt! When dude said that I was laughing my ass off for days! 🤣😂
"It's a bold strategy, Cotton, let's see if it works out for 'em..." Very impressed how they were able to give the illusion of curling without any ice, however briefly.
My husband and I would sit out in public and do people commentary like these two...I was Twinkle, LOL. And yes, we would interrupt with made-up ads about vagina products. What in the hell is wrong with us...? :)
This is one of the funniest series of sketches I've ever seen - and I've been watching sketch Comedy since The Carol Burnett Show was still on the air. Any one of these sketches is 'ok' on its own, but the way they pause in the middle of the catch phrase every single time makes each pause more hilarious than the last. Of course having Will Forte commit to Greg Stink every time is just magic as well.
"Hey you know what else makes sense? Using Gyna-Lotromin. From Bo Derek to Susan Lucci, it's the brand stars use to clean their Coochie!" - Jason Sudekis 3:15
"So I guess currently these words" that's so brain breaking lol "these words" represents themselves whilst also explaining their function and also just being a nonchalant way to end the sentence. He's actually a genius
This is one of the most, if not THE most, underrated sketches on SNL. I want to watch nothing but these two.
Greg Stink needs his own show. Maybe he could replace that Sonny weirdo on The View.
It was legendary enough to be reprised on the 40th anniversary special
@burteriksson - You poor guy.
Nothing is underrated.
They really are hilarious lol
Jason Sudeikis is probably the most underrated/underappreciated cast members from this era. Literally everyone on this cast was gold.
And he surprisingly looks like John Krasinski
Said no one ever
So Sudeikis is the most underrated yet EVERYONE is LITERALLY gold? How exactly does that work o' wise one?!
@@Hellwyck His observation is that he believes every member of that cast was fantastic, but that among them, he feels Jason Sudeikis is the most underrated. i miss him on snl, he was amazing when he was paired with forte or with kristen
Stink hasn’t a clue about any of the sports, but he knows about the symptoms treated, usage and application of every feminine product advertised.
He did the reading, he just didn't realize he could turn the page.
That's what makes him the best color commentator in the biz
When your heads out of order, talk about south of the border...(fill in feminine hygiene product here)
He’s a hell of a color man and a damn good friend
It's called doing your homework.
"it's regional" is a tremendous off-the-cuff double entendre.
I don't think any of that was off the cuff. Very, very little of SNL is improv. Almost none of it. Only when they mess up, really.
@@thelastmanonearth2631 yeah but its pretty obvious he mispronounced vaginal on accident
@@MrCScottie Well, until you realize this is the "correct" pronunciation in other English-speaking parts of the world. Indeed, it is "regional."
This was obviously off the cuff.
Someone else posted Greg Stink reminded them of a golden retriever. He's a big happy kind of goofy likable guy you just want to pat on the head
Jason's hesitations are priceless! Comedic gold!

Douche!
I dont know how Jason Sudekis can do these without laughing
He does laugh for a few seconds.

Jason and Will are always awesome :)
I love Will Forte's laugh

What a series of gems. Will Forte absolutely kills me as Greg Stink
These were honestly the best skits
Will and Jason are great
You obviously didn't watch anything from 80s and 90s the legends of comedy and best years of this show!
Jason Sudeikis is really exceptional
I love how nice Pete is to Greg in all of these. Bring them back!

When Jason says the sponsor slogan it kinda seems like the writers don't show him the cue cards until the last minute as he nearly laughs mid sentence
It's probable that the cue card went through a number of rewrites during the rehearsal process and (maybe) even that Saturday night.
@@tintinismybelgian aq
The writers especially Mulaney would do exactly that on a regular basis.

John Shottie Mulaney did that only on the stefon sketches. Only because he had a close relationship with hader.

I thought Finns don't like other Finns

Where are the rest of the ESPN SNL skits with Jason. These are so funny and so underrated as top SNL skits.
