I've listened to all them finalists, and Steve Harper is definitely my winner in all aspects. He plays particularly melodic in an awesome and effective combination of virtuosity and musicality. His influences are not to be traced so easily as all other competitors... he's got a voice of his own. I also love his sound. Peace!
Steve Harper and I go way the f&€k back. He has really come of age as a musician. I'm proud to say I shared a stage with him a time or two. Fender Bass
Steve is a friend and for anyone who cares his band is competing this month in the Memphis with Bands from all over the U.S. and the world for "best Blues Band" His wife Patty does vocals. Besides the Blues he can play about anything you ever heard any style.
This guy is nothing better than OK. He's a decent player, but nothing special. He can't touch Laith Al Saadi. He gets a little sloppy at times. Just saw Laith live opening for the Yardbirds and that guy plays some of the tastiest licks you will ever hear.
Hey bmrfff I know you are a buff blues player, seeing you have won so many contest, so why are you ragging on a winning guitar player. Steve's style is like Santanna (first song)
I couldn't be more proud of my Dad! Learned everything about music from this man!

Was just going to post that. You stole my thunder :P
The main melody line is reminiscent of Santana's "Europa." He did a great job.
Nice!!
hehe I know this guy. He was my neighbor and friends with my parents. Cool.
Any dude who can rip some blues wearing a Jimmy Buffet shirt has got it going on;) Nice stuff Steve!
Good blues.
made of WIN !
steve harper for prime minister!
nice playing...the first notes are santana's style...the melody of europa...
I didn't know the canadian prime minister was so good at guitar!
it was a joke, the canadian prime ministers name is stephen harper
intro sounds very santa-esque
i can kinda hear thrill is gone in the backing like he said
it looks like robben ford's guitar
What kind of Gibson is that? I thought it might be the Johnny A signature, but it looks too fat to be that guitar.
I would definately say more melodic. Im confused, that looks more like jazz type guitar to me. He is more rock style though on electric.
sounds like the godfather theme at the begining
I think he should have gone for the "The Thrill Has Gone" style backing. This is not bluesy enough to me.
I Meant Santana
he he lol
I thing Mike Bloomfield was and still is the best guitar king.
Steve ha
O'Ree needs to take lessons from Mr. Harper.
this is a blues contest not that shit.
bit too much gain for my taste but great soul and playing!
he stole the main lick off santana's europa...
