Great video! I visited there for 4 days a few years back. Spent most of my time visiting some of the historical sites and hiking in the fjords near Preikestolen, as well as one of the islands one of my ancestors emigrated from (Finnoy). I wish I had given myself at least four times as long to see more of the city, but it was worth it.
1:20 "Øvre Holmegate" s also know as "Fargegaten" (color street), partly because that the buildings are very colorful, but also that all the pubs, coffee shops, and restaurants in the street are very LGBQT-friendly
My family is from Tutlandvik and last bishop of the synod. Stavanger is the "commercial centerr" and Tutlandvik is the hereditary hills of the clergy. This "commercial center" is amazing, all my grand aunts, grandma and second cousins have visited this area. Several thousands of locals are our relatives and community. We have metal photographs from 1840 to 1898. I hope to see my homeland in my lifetime, 5/8 Norge, 3/8 swede here, all Lutheran clergy heritage.
6:00 The area ("Hafrsfjord") is also known for the largest sea battle in Norwegian history (at least for historical times 🙂 ) (fun fact: Stavanger and Hafrsfjord are included in Assassins Creed: Valhalla 😇)
@@norwayspotter26Trondheim is 197 000. The thing about Stavanger is that it is a 3-4 city conurbation (grown together) and is counted as one. Sandnes, Stavanger, Sola, Randaberg. Population = 257 973 :-)
(Fun fact) The old black and white ship ( the bigger one) with one big funnel is in the dunkirk movie in hospital ship colors. You see it quite alot in the movie. The ships name is Kristiansand i think. Kristiansand is a city on the really southern part of Norway. Its quite big but not bigger than Stavanger.
Nice drone footage... Did you have any issues with shooting with your drone in Norway? Any tips or what I need to do prior to going so I don't have any trouble while shooting with a drone???
Do your research and follow the rules. When I was in Norway there were very little rules regarding drones but I know the laws have caught up and changed since I was there.
Corky is truly the right word to descibe Stavanger, because one have to walk for too long and see it all to find any beauty. There are a little bit of this and that, but all together I find my town very boring, and the people who build it during years, from the 60 thies untill the nowadays have no clue on the estethic. I love my City, like I would love an ugly Child if I had an ugly child. I was born in 1958, so I have seen most of it. August is the best time to may be find summer here. If you did not go visiting, you have not missed out anything real good . Go to Poland and Gdansk instead, and you will think you woke up in a fairytail. Sorry Stavanger, your caretakers failed you.... .

:( I had plans to go to Turkey last week. I had to cancel my flight and stay because there is a visa ban on US nationals right now. I guess Trump and Erdogan got in a fight and closed borders to each other. I'm so sad! I was going to Istanbul and Cappadocia. As soon as the borders open again I'll plan a trip!
i really love it, these small houses looks cozy
Really nice video, very informative, lovely city Norwegians are nice, kind and friendly I look forward to visit it

Your hometown? You don't sound or look like you are from there.
I wouldn’t say that its a small town. It’s Norway’s 4th biggest town with around 200.000 people. I would know because I live here. But great video.
Oh wow! Thank you so much for the insight. Apologies for calling your city small. Glad you enjoyed the video!
Yeah i was like "hidden"..? 😂
Actually the 3rd largest city area with population pretty close to Bergen. 260 000 in Stavanger region and 289 000 in Bergen.
ungesalsa isn’t Trondheim the 3rd?

específicamente en Stavanger... que lastima si ahora permiten esas cosas, me encantaba esa ciudad tan limpia
I fall in love with you
I don't get the allegiance to wooden houses. Vinyl siding lasts 40 years and you never have to paint it.
