Ditto. There's ALWAYS room for dessert, no matter how full you really are. I rarely eat dessert. But if something looks and tastes really delicious, I don't care how full I am, I can eat it. The thing that baffled me about Chris's comments regarding Nathan being able to eat dessert, despite saying how full he was, is that was coming from the same guy who said he continues eating whether he's full or not; i.e. he eats just to eat. So how he can appear confused at Nathan's "savory full/dessert full" comment was a little bit of a conundrum to me.

I might sound a bit pedantic but if Chris has Binge Eating Disorder then why is he being treated like a regular overeater? It's an incredibly valid and not taken seriously enough disorder. An eating disorder that should be thought of in the same line as both Bulimia and Anorexia Nervosa. They have a whole segment in the show dedicated to eating disorders but for some reason BED is different? The commonalities between Bulimia and Binge Eating Disorder are quite stark, save the compensatory bulimic behaviours, and yet BED is simply disregarded :/
Couldn’t agree more, it’s as though the show’s producers think the only eating disorders are anorexia and bulimia, apparently BED isn’t a valid eating disorder...
Well, to be fair, they did have a segment about "over-eating addiction" where they said it's increasingly being recognized in Britain. You have to remember that this episode was aired in 2012, so we've come a long way since then.
I've noticed how fast the heavy people eat and how slowly the thin people eat. I have to watch my weight and have found eating slowly does help me feel full and I enjoy my food more. When I use to eat very quickly I would get a second helping because I didn't feel full.
Taking more time to eat allows the food to travel to your stomach and signal your brain that you're full. Try serving your food in a smaller plate. You will also tend to eat less, as most people finish their plates. GL on your journey!
That's why i get angry at fat people. They know they can change, but they still keep eating bullshit and not exercising. They need to get mad, and look at themselves in the mirror. It's all in the brain. You have to want it.

Frustrating seeing these dudes be excessively overweight or overly underweight and no one got severe Acne, like what? EDIT: I'm Jealous, Before anyone attacks me. Yes, I do know they aren't healthy.
I feel that. I was under strong medication because of my acne. I got sick of it, I mean literally ill. So I went to my dermatologist and I tried different diets, nothing really seemed to help. Then we cut out basically everything. No meat, no milk, no eggs, so basically vegan, no sugar as well and no takeaways at all. Well, my acne got a lot better, my dermatologist said it could be because of the hormones in milk and meat that are causing hormonal acne. To be honest, it's hard, I used to drink a lot of milk and it took me months to habituate with it. I still have a little acne though and it's fckn frustrating. I definitely feel your pain. I hope things will work out for us in the future!

I never had chips and gravy until I was a teenager, and was staying in Manchester. I enjoyed it even if I thought it was a strange combination to start with.
Eating and lazing about is like an addiction. You crave it and your body fights and complains if you work out or try to eat healthy. It's easier to give into the cravings. I went from 8.5 stone to 14 stone in a couple of years. I had quit smoking and my cravings turned to food instead without me realising. I've managed to get down to 11.5 stone now and still losing. Also, still haven't had a cigarette. I still crave the food, but enjoy working out now, 6 days a week. I've never felt so strong! I hope my food addiction will finally cave so I can enjoy my fruit and salads as well.
I’m addicted to this show. I’m learning a lot. I’m about 20 lbs overweight and as I saw my weight go up, I decided to do something about my diet before I got into trouble and hard work to get back to a good weight.
Horsesh!t !!! I hate comments like this; Asia ? Where ? 日本 中国 ประเทศไทย Russia India? No where is his weight at his age average....In Japan he would be at least 13 kg UNDERWeight...バカ!
The problem is losing weight isn't hard. Keeping it off isn't hard. These people are using food as a crutch for something much more serious. No one (aside from marathon runners) naturally feels inclined to eat a entire large cheese pizza to satisfy hunger. The obesity epidemic is as much a mental health issue as it is a physical one.
Losing weight can be very hard on certain people cause losing weight isn’t natural think about it if you loss a lot of weight your body would panic and make you crave and then it gets harder
Not quite. The food they are eating is DESIGNED to be highly addictive. It starts in childhood, we feed our children foods with the highly addictive white flour and sugar from breakfast onwards, so we get them hooked, literally. Combine this with the myth that fat causes heart disease and we also make them eat low-fat food, which isn't satisfying. We have to break the addictions and move these people to a LCHF diet. It's very simple, but it certainly isn't easy. Controlling the insulin response is far more important than counting calories. As always, the advice in programs like these leaves a lot to be desired.
@@sportysbusiness that is totally truth, I am an example. I lost/ again/ some weight, that time 50 kg and first time I am able to control my body weight and no more jojo effect. But I changed my lifestyle, i am on low carb diet, but I am never hungry. And I excersise. Frequently.
@@sportysbusiness Not for everyone. You're better off eating plain vegetables with maybe the tiniest bit of olive oil. Bit for a lot of people fat foods makes things worse in feeling full.
I don't like that they have "super size" people with eating disorders, but almost never "super skinny" people. It just feeds the stereotype that big people can just stop eating so much, but that's not how eating disorders work. All disorders should be treated by a therapist, no matter what the people weigh
A therapist telling you they can solve food issues is a scam artist. The doctors have KNOWN damn well they can't fix addictions since the 30s. The Doctors Opinion. Google, please. They should be sued for even insinuating they can.
I’ve have issues with not eating enough because I have horrible acid reflux, so I just stopped eating. It’s been hard to get myself to eat more because I’d get so sick, but I’m getting there. This show definitely inspires me to keep going :)
Chris is so food addicted that he can’t believe that anyone could stop eating,so he’s acting like there’s some mystery to be solved because the skinny stopped eating dinner
JamesTheMighty Moltres they both need extreme help. I really hope Eugenia really is getting the help. As far as Amberlyn, she needs to actually lose weight and get eating therapy to change her relationship with food. Before she does the surgery she wants. It’ll just backfire and be a waste.
The show deals with people who are not too far gone, so anyone like My 600lb Life or actual anorexia wouldn't go to the clinic, because their pathology is a disease and not just bad habits. They only take people who are still able to change.
@@gypsysoul4683 Therapy isn't going to do much for food addiction either fat or thin. They've NEVER cured any addiction and to say they are is a scam. See the doctor's opinion on Google. It's free. It was about alcohol (not much drugs in the 30s) but the Overeaters Anonymous people use the AA big book verbatim (so the message doesn't get lost)
@@windsofmarchjourneyperrytr2823 No where did I say anything about being “cured”. Getting help and learning triggers, learning tools to change your relationship with any addiction is a benefit. I am someone with an ED who works in a facility for addicts. There are tools out there for people who want to change/live. The stigma of no cures needs to change. It’s not about cures. It’s about healing everything that’s lead to the behavior. The root. That’s the beginning of changing the behavior. Unless someone is on the verge of death. Then obviously it’s focusing on getting the individual stable. Before moving forward.
@@windsofmarchjourneyperrytr2823 you need to learn how to research. In the 30s there was morphine, cocaine, opium to name a few. You think the doctors who were giving patients these things to cure their 'hysteria' and the like knew more about addiction than doctors these days?

SketchyGarden While I do have a pretty low opinion of myself it's never been about how I measure up to others. It's more of a flawed coping mechanism and addiction if that makes sense? I seem to cycle between drug abuse, alcohol abuse or starving .

yeh, always breaks my heart to watch the folk like Joe in the USA be used as an example for the Brits. why ask a food addict why they are still addicted to food? makes me angry at the doctors for not understanding people who have gotten that big need intervention, not preaching or criticism
@@teamcrumb the problem is Dr's in the UK take initiative to help their people by creating series and studies such as this one, where as Dr's in the US just prescribe pills and take no initiative to help patients. point being, the US is unfortunately and endless pit of disease and decay because all they care about is the money, not the well-being of their citizens. and when you compare lifestyle in the UK to lifestyle here, the numbers don't like. America is plotting the failure of it's people.
@@jessicuhh017 totally agree with you. It is utterly heartbreaking!!!!
teamcrumb because we want to learn from the Americans mistakes towards fast food ...this is what taking action is ..if this is what is needed for us in the uk to get people eating healthy then so be it .

Frustrating seeing these dudes be excessively overweight or overly underweight and no one got severe Acne, like what?
EDIT: I'm Jealous, Before anyone attacks me. Yes, I do know they aren't healthy.
Saaame I watch what I eat, don’t go overboard on sugar and treat my acne and its still there
Squidoodle genetics for you .
@@yatshie8717 you should make it a habit to donate blood every 2 months, so ur body produce new clean blood. some find it effective. also you can have any diet you like as long as you sweat twice everyday by excercising. but cheese, chocolates, and junkfoods really can cause acne so eat it in moderation or after vegetables meal. in addition drink lots of clear liquidto clean you stomach and rectum, becoz stocking feces even a day is bad for ur skin. drinking green tea also helps to clear my skin and have that natural glow.
@@yatshie8717 I'm so annoyed. I rarely eat meat, sweets, or dairy and only have the occasional scrambled eggs yet I still have acne.
The dude took his meds with pepsi.... smh
I really identified with the american guy when he asked 'do you ever keep eating even tho its too much'.
Every meal bro
Don't do that. Even if you're young, you can still have a stroke or heart attack.
Nathan’s savory full and sweet full is honestly so fucking relatable

I've gained 10 boulders

Chris's downfall was triggered by heartbreak, and there was so much of what he said that hit home for me. I hope he's doing better and was able to climb out of that darkness. It's a terrible place to be.
💯💯
I proper relate to the whole binge eating thing, really happy for both of them, and the skinny guy actually tried! I want them to make a new series of this soo good!
Joe: weight is causing a ton of physical problems
Also joe: drinks Pepsi with medication
I’m-
I can't believe how much weight Emma has put on! she looks so different :)
Tia May I know you mean well but those kinds of comments are extremely triggering
@@yaboi8383 ...why? She NEEDED to put weight on. She's gained weight in order to be healthy. This is ONLY a compliment.
@@yaboi8383 do n't be stupid, what? she can n't state the obvious. i think you should nt read the comments. if you cannot handle that kind of complimentary observation.
SketchyGarden I have an eating disorder and comments like “you look so much better!” are triggering because my ED brain translates that to “you look fat.” What’s suggested by experts is that instead of giving appearance based compliments like “you’ve gained so much” or “you look so much healthier”, try giving a compliment like “you’ve grown so much as a person” or “you seem so much happier.” I hope this explained it :)
@@yaboi8383 I understand, im recovering from anorexia myself and what i said wan't intended to trigger anyone, so im sorry if it did. It was really meant as a compliment because i understand that recovery is extremely hard
32:28 that little smile Lucy does when she is told she's done well by saying something nice about herself is wholesome
9:06 "Ge soom chips an' grave' doown ye" is the most British thing I have ever heard.
That's very funny.
I never had chips and gravy until I was a teenager, and was staying in Manchester. I enjoyed it even if I thought it was a strange combination to start with.
There should be a healthy person with them so they can see the healthy portions not just the extremes.
Good idea 👍
Seeing Emma again in this episode made me feel better and im really proud of her
what episode is she from
I'm so emotional that there are people all over the world who are facing these problems
Im glad they can bring awareness to the issue and also give tips for people at home struggling
Omg ! It's so sweet that Nathan's gran brings him lunch every day !!! :')
Chris has the handsomest face. Hope everything works out for him.
emma has such a kind face and voice im so glad shes doing better now
Wow!! Emma seems so much happier! She has come to life🌞
Emma looks amazing! i didn't even recognize her at first, would have though she was her daughter.
Poor Chris has been hurt bad and is lonely. He's a lovely lad. Both of them are.
Both supersizers have such a beautiful and sympathetic face, it is just surrounded by all the "too much". Hope, they made a good way!
They always come back w rly different hairstyles and colours 🤣🤣
You know it’s bad when you start watching stuff like this again..
I’m addicted to this show. I’m learning a lot. I’m about 20 lbs overweight and as I saw my weight go up, I decided to do something about my diet before I got into trouble and hard work to get back to a good weight.
Ok but the superskinny doesn't seem that bad; he would fly under people’s “eating disorder” radar.
indeed Margaret !
I dont think he is to skinny, he looks healthy.
he didn't feel good about himself though, and he had unhealthy ideas toward food. Not everyone with a problem looks sickly thin
Nathan looks perfect
@@chill4660 thats great for you but he isn't there to fix his relationship with food so that he can be attractive to you

These guys are both so fricken sweet and supportive of each other 😊 so cute!
Chris is such a sweetheart😢 I hope he's doing well
Probably just me but that Nathan dude is cuteee
Emma looks amazing! I had to rewind to make sure it was the same person! She looks so much younger now!
Here in Asia, Nathan's size and frame is considered normal for someone his age.
Only downside, a whole lot of isolation and suicide, right?
Asian beauty standards are not healthy and we all know that lol
Horsesh!t !!! I hate comments like this; Asia ? Where ? 日本 中国 ประเทศไทย Russia India? No where is his weight at his age average....In Japan he would be at least 13 kg UNDERWeight...バカ!
But Men there are usually not tall
Frequently.
Just here to 💖💖 your DATA profile pic!
@@sportysbusiness Not for everyone. You're better off eating plain vegetables with maybe the tiniest bit of olive oil. Bit for a lot of people fat foods makes things worse in feeling full.
“What is a corn dog” I just thought that was so precious
tbh I wouldn't be mad about all the garlic bread
36:00 he invented the dab wtf why is nobody crediting him???
Did he really dab and then say, "I'm getting a *dab* on"??????
I feel so badly for these people that are dying from unhealthy habits. It’s so sad.
I lost 90lbs but kept seeing my body as being overweight. It really hit home when I realized my body didn’t jiggle whenever I drove over a bump lmao.
I was like this watching normal people leave part of their drinks. Lol
I don’t know when this show was made but Evansville is definitely not America’s fattest city anymore
It was probably made in 2012
Now, it's probably Cleveland, Ohio.

Make one of these about Eugenia Cooney vs Amberlyn Reid
I live in Evansville, IN and I’m 5’8” and 125 lbs. I’ve actually been in deaconess hospital for low blood sugars many times. I’m the opposite of most people. I have zero appetite. I wish I could eat.

Exactly, it’s so much more than that. My mum is always blaming my poor self esteem on ‘models on Instagram’ when it’s actually me being self critical.
It is a pretty old programme tbh we've moved a lot more forward with the health and information now. When this series first came out facebook was new and instagram wasn't a thing ^^;
Is it wrong? You might not be thinking about it, but subconsciously that could be what you're comparing yourself to.
SketchyGarden While I do have a pretty low opinion of myself it's never been about how I measure up to others. It's more of a flawed coping mechanism and addiction if that makes sense? I seem to cycle between drug abuse, alcohol abuse or starving .
Pikometre I don't know. I saw a psychiatrist about 3 years ago who's first question was 'So which celebrity is it that you want to look like?' 🤔 Lovely man but just no😆
