Unfortunately, Rod cut Katja Riekermann from the band without warning in early 2016 after her playing 14 years in the band, saying "he wanted more strings and less horns" in his music. It was sudden and came as a huge shock to her, along with great sadness, which she has 'politely' and "whistfully" implied in excellent English, during interviews on music industry shows on the internet in 2020.
